  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

Not sure if it was asked but new to forum will lspdfr work for the cd version of gta v

Yes, it will work on the PC version of GTA V

Like LCPDFR for GTA IV, LSPDFR will work for any legal PC version of GTA V. That includes CD, Steam and Rockstar Warehouse copies.

Maybe they were forming a roadblock nearby and officers just used them to chase you? I've never seen a responding Riot, but things may be different in PC version...

This. They don't respond on their own (afaik), but roadblock units will often get into their vehicles and start pursuing you.

One thing I'd love to see in this mod is some kind of special callouts from South Central(aka south la). Why? There's a ton of gangs down there, that are just standing there, and not being used in any way, so yeah, I'd love to see a lot of crime down there. Maybe gang shootouts, or some sort of drug dealings?

Other than that, keep up the great work & hopefully you'll find my suggestion interesting!

Screenshots from the LSPDFR Modification by G17 Media. Before anyone asks; We have no release date and these screenshots were taken by members of the Development Team. We hope you'll enjoy these few screenshots, and we'll have more to share in the coming weeks!

Uhm.. weeks? Phuck. I've gotta try not to hype this so much. I'm super exited, that' why I'm getting more impatient every single day.

Great idea. Also, what about some illegal activity around the motel in Sandy Shores? Or at the two desert airfields, gang shootouts or activity would be awesome at these spots. Just show up with loads of SWAT and.. you know what happens next. :P

I could also imagine shoplifting or robbery. Or some of these "nudists" harassing someone, like in the random event around the vineyard (eew)?

Maybe suspicious activity at Humane Labs, at the airport, at the docks? Or even terrorist activity?

Damnit, I'm so exited and I'm getting so many ideas. Just can't wait for this. :P :woot:

Isn't the name "lcpdfr.com" kind of silly now that there's an lspdfr? Not really expanding your brand lol. Idk, just seems a little weird to have an LSDPFR section on the website.

Yeah I agree with that, something like "www.policefirstresponse.com" or "www.firstresponsemod.com" would be awesome, lcpdfr.com and lspdfr.com could be redirect to that or directly to the appropriate forum-sections. Only problem I see is that firstresponse.com is actually being used and that could have some big confusion going there....

But yeah, lcpdfr.com is kinda weird now, but maybe the Developers can come up with a universal name that's not really bound to a certain game.

I was just sitting there, so I don't think it was spawning new roadblocks. And IIRC there was NOOSE in there, and a full truck's worth at that.

I personally think renaming the site would be a mistake and I'm personally opposed to doing so. We've built up a lot of reputation with LCPDFR.com and LCPDFR.com is now the generic name of the website, really at this stage detached from the base LCPDFR modification.

Besides, we'll always have LSPDFR/SAPDFR.com pointing to the site so users can find us easily.

It's "just" weeks, actually. Modding isn't too much different from any other kind of game developing (except that modders aren't paid for their hard work), it takes a lot of time if you aim for quality. Some mods of the same scale have been under development for years  just to hit that "simple, perfect, playable"-sweet spot. Without public alpha\beta versions, only cold fact - "it's WIP", plus few screenshots once a month. You don't need to be patient, just accept the fact that it won't be out soon and don't poke devs about "when?" ;)

And about callouts. It could be great if devs can make some kind of a framework for adding custom callouts, like a block of code where you just put all the required data. Callout type, location (coords?), suspect type, weapons, activity (shootout, robbery, IED, drugs, yada yada yada), dispatch text, requirements for accepting a callout (maybe you need a K9 with you). So even very bad coders (like me) can quickly make their own callouts, put newly created block inside framework code, or ini file, and go play it.

But probably that kind of framework will be very hard to implement.

Just a suggestion, but would it be possible to have the ability to have limited map mod support?

For example, let's say North Yankton is fixed up and made into a full map (all buildings working, proper boundaries, etc.). LSPD:FR would have something in the config file that says:

"policestation1=

policestation1carspawn="

After each line, the map maker would enter the coordinates of the location they want the police station, up to three stations, and the location of where the cars spawn when they select their vehicle, respectively. This way, you'd be opening LSPD:FR to user customization/development without exposing the inner workings of LSPD:FR.

My System:

Intel i7-2600k | ASUS P67 Sabertooth | NVIDIA GTX 560ti | Corsair 750W PSU | Corsair Vengeance 8GB | Lamptron Fan-Atic

I've personally been against map modifications in the past, most of them violate copyright or present other legal challenges that I personally disagree with. It's certainly never been too much of a "technical challenge" as to why they were never supported.
That being said, I think it's far too early to even comment on this for GTA V.

Haha, yeah. I understand it. But I check the site very often and regularly to see if someone has posted in this topic. I do know that it can't be made that fast but I see that the devs are making progress. This gives me hope that it'll be released soon. Looks like it isn't as soon as I hope.  :P

What's wrong with IV's traffic stops? ^^

Perhaps the dozen of pedestrians accidently killed during the process, not to mention the millions of damage worth of LC property for each traffic stop.

It was not the mod, but GTAIV lacked some serious safety for the citizens. ;)

If map mods violate copyright, then shouldn't any mod in general (vehicles, scripts, etc.) be illegal?

The "policestation1=" thing could be useful to set custom police stations within Los Santos. Port Police, Harbor Patrol, Highway Patrol, LS World Airports, Schools Police, etc. could become available.

That's what I was thinking. I know we have only one enterable station (excluding the FIB office), but I like the idea of being able to spawn at any of the police stations. Say I'm Franklin in the ghetto. Go on duty, little menu pops up saying what station?, you then can spawn at the Vinewood, Veccpuci, Paleto Bay, Sandy Shores, ect stations. I think that'd be pretty neat.

GTA V's AI isn't actually that much better from experience. I waited for an ambulance once after brutally murdering someone  seeing an injured pedestrian in need of help and I spent 5 minutes watching it reverse into a car, crash into another one, slam into a pole, reverse back into the same car etc etc. All because it had tried to drive down the wrong side of the road when turning at a junction.

Modifying a game that doesn't provide modding support isn't an issue generally speaking, providing you're not doing it to cheat/exploit the online services or to rip the developers off by redistributing their game. If you however rip someone elses work (a map or a vehicle model that has been taken from another game) that's where the copyright or legal challenges come into play. Scripts I suspect fall into a different ballpark as it's quite difficult to prove you've "stolen" code when all the answers you need are probably on stackoverflow.
