Xilandro reacted to Sam in LSPDFR Announcement + Preview
We'll show off things when we're ready to show them. I said a few days ago that we didn't want to show too much, primarily because it is pretty cruel to all of you when you see a bunch of screenshots pretty much teasing you. Yes, I like to do a little bit of teasing, but I don't want to overdo it and shove something that people don't have but desperately want in their faces. Secondly, I think it is much more exciting when we don't tell absolutely everything about the mod, and finally, as I said before, I'm usually too busy actually doing stuff to put together a video or whatever. Yes, we could dedicate time to making videos and blogs and such, but that just takes time away from the stuff that really matters right now - the actual development.
Oh yeah, then there's the part where when we do show things, people claim that we're just using the trainer! Regardless, I'd like to put together another video and maybe release a new batch of screenshots, but other than that, work continues.

Xilandro reacted to robocop in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewSome of the police vehicles have some customization to them. The interceptor has a different hood, spoiler and the vic has the different light bars. I don't know about the others but they may have some that you can see because you cant go into ls customs with them.

Xilandro reacted to ineseri in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewYou are in luck sir! I happen to know exactly when it is released! When it's done! :D

Xilandro got a reaction from Starmix in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewI'm pretty sure when game files modding gets available - some skilled modders like Skilldre and Nine30 will fix and finish North Yankton. Right now it's too soon to even think about it though. And State of San Andreas is huge enough to have fun for months until it gets boring.

Xilandro got a reaction from mj2020 in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewIt's "just" weeks, actually. Modding isn't too much different from any other kind of game developing (except that modders aren't paid for their hard work), it takes a lot of time if you aim for quality. Some mods of the same scale have been under development for years just to hit that "simple, perfect, playable"-sweet spot. Without public alpha\beta versions, only cold fact - "it's WIP", plus few screenshots once a month. You don't need to be patient, just accept the fact that it won't be out soon and don't poke devs about "when?" ;)
And about callouts. It could be great if devs can make some kind of a framework for adding custom callouts, like a block of code where you just put all the required data. Callout type, location (coords?), suspect type, weapons, activity (shootout, robbery, IED, drugs, yada yada yada), dispatch text, requirements for accepting a callout (maybe you need a K9 with you). So even very bad coders (like me) can quickly make their own callouts, put newly created block inside framework code, or ini file, and go play it.
But probably that kind of framework will be very hard to implement.

Xilandro reacted to Sam in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewThere's no reason why we couldn't add the ability to let people customize where the police stations are and such. Regardless, I don't see this as something that will be necessary for quite some time. Also, we're probably going to be doing the whole go on duty thing differently this time around.
What we have does actually have support for North Yankton already, although the map of North Yankton is too incomplete to be used for any practical purpose.

Xilandro reacted to TheUniT in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewHaha, yeah. I understand it. But I check the site very often and regularly to see if someone has posted in this topic. I do know that it can't be made that fast but I see that the devs are making progress. This gives me hope that it'll be released soon. Looks like it isn't as soon as I hope. :P

Xilandro got a reaction from vynlthrash in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewJust a little question to the devs. Is it (or will be) possible in LSPDFR to keep police lights on without siren? I'm lurking through nativedb, playing around with stuff, learning a bit. And can't find anything to keep just lights =\
To "unbelievers" - this cake is not a lie ;)

Xilandro got a reaction from Steele1925 in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewThank you very much! Yeah found it when Sam said that he's working on arrest animations, but I saw it after I've posted the video haha... Can't remove/edit my post, so I'm sorry again.
Anyway, awesome stuff is happening here.
Unfortunately, latest events around modding showed that mod users sometimes can be very rude. I can't say it about GTA community, because I'm very new to it, but Fallout and Skyrim - users think modders owe them something. "Stop teasing, release it finally", "Where's new version? Why still WIP?", basically don't sleep, don't rest, just do coding 24/7. But the truth is - modders don't owe them literally nothing. And users should keep it in mind before asking "When it will be released?".

Xilandro reacted to Sam in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewThere's plenty of things, but I'd rather focus on continuing to develop them than take the time out to make videos and pictures and tease people.

Xilandro reacted to Steele1925 in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewYeah Sam went ahead and explained to me that while the AI will arrest you (the player), it's not so easy to arrest other AI because it seems they have been programmed to "Shoot to Kill" when at odds with other AI. But..... He also posted a picture involving AI arresting AI just a few pages back if you'd like to check that out. I believe the wording was "I'll just leave this here". Thank you for the video though ;)
EDIT: There it is... It's on Page 4.

Xilandro reacted to Sam in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewGuessing animations/arresting mainly. LMS and I have also been working on something super cool since pretty much the start of the project. It is unfortunately as hard as it is cool, though.
I think the donate button disappeared with the website upgrade. Speaking of the website upgrade, it was donations from everyone here that paid for it, so, yes, they do help!
It is .NET, using the RAGE Plugin Hook which is independent of Alex's ScriptHook.
