I think a cool feature would be missions based on what kind of law enforcer you are. A prison guard should only hey prison-related callouts, maybe a job of picking up a prison bus full of prisoners from the Mission Row police station and driving it to the prison, entering and delivering the prisoners.

Park Rangers should get wildlife and wilderness related callouts, like animal attacks, poaching, illegal huntings etc

Maybe we could spawn as Coast guard officials and respond to emergencies on the sea or related to smuggling by boats etc

NOOSE and FIB would get calls to raids or high risk warrants and other calls specific to either role

Police helicopter pilots would get helicopter callouts

Other general callouts that I think are fun could be a plane crash like in that mission where you chase the crashing plane, perhaps the crashed plane spawning for the callout, maybe even building fires and car collisions

The ability to place barriers and cones that will stop traffic would also be useful for a lot of these callouts

Does this seem like a good idea/feasible?

all look great, I love the coast guard idea. However, i'm not quite sure about the plane thing, that's probably so hard to get right.
But still great ideas :D

I think the most important thing is to create API so many talented scripters here could write their own callouts and stuff, like LukeD or LtFlash did. This way any idea could be implemented, it will be integrated in the mod, causing much less compatibility issues, and saving the time for the Developers, who could concentrate on making the mod stable instead of making and testing numerous call-outs.

Another varient of callout for specific ped is Detective. I know the mod is about being a beat cop, but for both FIB and LSPD Detective you could get more homicide calls, turn up at a murder, call coroner/ambulance to remove body after blocking the scene with cones, barriers etc. Then, maybe you get a lead on the suspect and go arrest him, or it ties in with raid calls where NOOSE/FIB raid a house or building to arrest the murderer

You guys all have great ideas and of course there's nothing wrong with coming up and fantasizing about possibilities. But taking in account the tremendous amount of effort it can take to make even the smallest changes to the game, and work around impossibilities, I will be more then happy being able to perform traffic stops and do arrests. For now... ;)

yeh. I don't care if there is only one callout in the first release as it would hopefully mean it will be more stable :D anyway I can wait as I know it will be worth it :D
Good luck G17

Of course! The ideas I state are simply speculation and ideas for the future, maybe. No harm in spreading ideas I suppose.

Of course nothing wrong with that. ☺

Hey guys, I just wanted to say "wow". I'm really excited about LSPDFR.

I'm very busy since several months but I'll probably be back sometimes to continue this awesome aventure with you.

We had a lot of great moments while on LCPDFR/GTA4

Again to add to callouts for specific types of cop, Highway Patrol could get more highway-related traffic incidents. Like car collisions, calls about drunk drivers, reckless drivers and the like. Of course normal units could get these calls, but they could be more common for the HP, as well as HP getting regular calls.

There could be the option to be a security guard, like in LCPDFR. You could be a security guard that drives the armoured vans, and get missions to go to certain shops with the van.

You could also be the normal stationary security guards, in the small security car, that dilli-something with the security livery, maybe tasked with patrolling an area like the LS port and respond to trespassing and the like

While I find constant piles of ideas a good thing (if they are being tracked by the dev team) its more important to sit down and make a solid list of improves/wants, rather then just kinda shoveling dirt over your first ideas by presenting more ideas that are extremely high in depth, as compared to improving a basic mechanic.

For example - here is what I mean.

Frisking

When I frisk a person I'd like to obtain their ID if they've got one, and also be able to radio in for information about them into dispatch in a more fluid manner.  Since this is something they are still working on - I'd consider it a small, do-able, and relevant idea.

I also really enjoyed the QA Menu from LCPDFR, and if they could find a way to incorporate this into the main dealing of a person (in terms of quick, easy to use, and fluid option selection) this would be a vast improvement over a commonly used feature - but I think they should also keep the old method as well, so people have options.

How the mechanic worked in LCPDFR to accomplish this was tap E to stop them, Hold E, Press F10, Select Frisk, Hold E, F10, Request ID, Hold E, Press F10, select request radio info, then tap E to make final arrest...

Detaining

I'd like to see the ability to detain a person with or without handcuffs on, and more directive control over them, meaning placing them in the car, making them take a seat outside the car on the sidewalk (which often happens), just telling them to stay put, and so forth...  another small but relevant idea that could be accomplished well.

Help my channel grow and I can explain to my wife why this addiction to coding is a good thing!

Fully agree with FinKone! If I could add one more thing, after frisking someone, the officers finds nothing and says "You are free to go." I typically frisk DUI drivers, they generally are just drunk and want to make sure they have nothing on them before transporting. But when he says free to go, I have to stop them again and finally arrest them. It would be nice after the frisking, you had options as how to proceed.

Is it maybe an idea to have a seperate thread named ''what people want in LSPDFR'', so that we can use this topic for actual news, information & screenshots posted by devs? Took me about half an hour to just collect the actual LSPDFR news in these 17 pages.

I'm sure they'll open a suggestions page soon enough, It's still somewhat early in development as far as we know and they might not be at a stage where they are ready to take suggestions, first they need to build the base of the mod and get the basic features in, then thats when they start adding new stuff, that's just my common sense guess really, only time will tell.

This is pretty much the "General Discussion" of LSPDFR so far, as you could tell by the pages of responses.

Wheather they take suggestions or not, people are giving them nonetheless. And it's cluttering this thread, which is the same thread Sam uses to post decent information on the mod itself. So excuse me for wanting to separate the actual news from the tons of requests people are already making. Just makes more sense to separate these two.

But i'll wait for a mod response, if you don't mind.

EDIT: Subforum is called LSPDR Updates & Information, so imo it should be used as so. If you want a general/request thread, it can easily be done in the general GTAV Discussion subforum.

If it was that big of a deal they would of locked the thread and told everyone to go to the GTAV discussion and/or a new subforum before they reached 17 pages of it here. It CAN easily be done there, but people seem more comfortable posting about it here. But I can't say you're wrong, it is a bit messy with all the different responses in the announcement thread, let's just see where it goes from here.

I've been reading this forum for a while now and i was wondering, what was lcpdfr like when it first came out on gta 4? i first created an account during .98 but i never really got to see what the experience was like when both els and lcpdfr were in their early versions. and another question is, are you guys basing lspdfr off of 1.0 or are you guys going to play it safe and minimize the mod mechanics until you figure more out?

Yeah i apparently wasn't clear enough with my suggestion first, let me rephrase that. I know the moderators allow it in here, that's why i'm not saying that people that are suggesting are doing a bad thing. I'm just suggesting splitting the 2 apart, just to keep it more organised. And like you said, it's probably a thing for the future, but seeing as we just passed page 17, soon can't come fast enough.

You could go on duty, spawn a police car, make arrests, respond to calls made by the default police computer and call for backup (noose and police). That was the full scope of it.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Do the devs take suggestions for possible features of LSPDFR?

We look through this topic often.  At the moment we're pretty set in stone as to where the mod is headed for its initial versions, and I have a very clear vision for some key parts of it.  Having said that, a few interesting suggestions have already actually been played around with.  Quite often I get ideas from seeing things that people post.

You might remember the grabbing feature we introduced in 1.0.  I came up with that after someone posted a screenshot from the scene of Poppy being arrested in GTA V on the forums.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."
