FinKone got a reaction from ziipzaaapM16A4 in Tips for DevelopersVISUAL STUDIO IS FREE!!That's right! Visual Studio Community Edition 2013 is completely free. It doesn't have all the features that the pros use, but who cares? You aren't a software company! -

It allows you to check license plates, tow vehicles, call coroner services, request backup for traffic stops, request K9 drug dogs to scan the car, have observations of the vehicle, question the driver of a vehicle in a traffic stop, andrequest pits on suspects. Each aspect of the modification will be explained further within the description.

Police Radio FEATURES
Plate Checker Ties into LSPDFR to return correct names that go with the vehicle. Still need to add some improves in regards to a Stolen Vehicle being driven by the owner... :X PIT Request Pit Request allows you to perform a pit on a vehicle thats fleeing. Holding the vehicle in a stationary position for a small amount of time often makes the occupants run on foot. Barriers (only one type current, sorry NorthernAlex! One day...) Place barriers to make traffic yield or go around. Tackle If traveling at a decent speed, when behind a person you will be able to tackle them (E on keyboard, or A on controller) Tow Truck Removes vehicles from the scene. Coroner Removes the dead from the scene. Request Additional Unit for Traffic Stop You can request to dispatch to send you a additional unit if you need the upper hand At this first release, it is very basic, and can be some what dangerous at this stage. Use at your own risk. Request K9 Unit for Air Sniff You can request to dispatch to send a K9 unit that will air sniff around the car and attempt to find drugs if the user dones't consent to a search of the vehicle. Very basic first release, will improve over time. Observations Window You'll observe things as you approach the vehicle, and this can impact the over all traffic stop experience. Question Driver Window Based on your observations, you might want to consider asking the person a few questions, to include consent for search. Gives more point to using the K9 as a last resort. Whats NOT in this version?

FinKone got a reaction from Darkmyre in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)I agree with this. I have a list of callouts that I want to make that are "frequent" but have the ability to go crazy (rarely, you guys know my style).
I have a list of 13 callouts (that haven't really been done yet, some have been) and I can tell you that shoplifting is on the list, and pretty high up there. ;)
Thanks for the positive feedback and if I do have questions, I'll contact you. I did end up picking the brain of a few actual law enforcement officers in terms of out comes for this call. I can't wait to find time to do more. For this callout, mostly its going to just get a bit of polish here and there (update the INI a bit more, so people can adjust the interval to check on you, polish and explain some buttons a bit more).

FinKone reacted to frailcolin in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)This callout is great. I work with the PD all the time and this is about normal for what they typically do.
I am beyond entertained doing these callouts.
I can totally see other scenarios using this same format. I work as Loss Prevention and I think a shoplifter call would be cool. Have LP at a store call PD. You roll onto location with description. Wait for them to exit the building than stop and search them. If they have merchandise you can make an arrest. Make contact with the LP to get a positive ID and have them fill out the no-permission paperwork and return the merchandise. Than take him to jail.
You can mix it up. Sometimes the shoplifter stops and talks. Sometimes he runs. Sometimes he fist fights or has a knife on rare occasions. Sometimes when you're sitting outside waiting he comes running out, maybe chased but even by himself would be a fun little foot pursuit. If he runs he may ditch merchandise or drugs (a lot of my shoplifters are drug addicts) Or if you want it to be realistic and boring the shoplifter is already detained inside the store and you just need to talk to the LP and take the suspect back to booking.
If you want I can give you some other or more detailed experiences I've had to add more variation and I could even go through how stops usually go for this thing since I've done a lot of them. I think you could even have literal repeat offenders since a lot of shoplifters are habitual and do it for drug money or because they like the thrill. You can do a variety of people with different personalities even. Herion addicts, teenagers, ORC crews, bored housewives. Some are docile, some run and fight and others just get verbally combative.
You could have them take place in one of those clothing stores with interiors. There are also a couple of gas stations/shops and big outlet stores/outdoor malls so have them take place in.
I'd say that Shoplifting is a significant enough part of a police officers job to consider it. They handle that callout a lot, especially in cities or retail-dense areas. Some cities have dedicated divisions for retail crime.

FinKone got a reaction from TheUniT in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)Hey guys. Figured I would go ahead and share since its to late to turn back at this point. I've decided to make my first callout, its going to turn into a series of different callouts using what I call "Repeat Offenders"
What is a repeat offender some may ask?
Often its not uncommon for police to have more then one encounter with a person. They often have run ins and even get to know these people on a first name basis. With that said, this callout with be gear'd towards the city area. Davis area currently but I'll be expanding at some point.
This callouts going to be realistic in nature, meaning it will take time to clear, and you'll have to use your head. The first callout in this callout series is going to be a BnE (Breaking and entering of a vehicle).
There is going to be a points system at some point. Albo and myself have been talking, and will be making callouts that work in conjunction with one another. If you falsely arrest the subject you respond for because you didn't see them even commit a crime, you won't be walking away with any points. However, he might flee on foot, drop drugs, pull a firearm, knife, try to fight, break into vehicles, steal items from vehicles, drop stolen items, drop weapons, or just be passive in general - just to list a few.
I wanted to make a callout thats in general, deep, and has a high level or replay. The subject you respond to will have all types of different actions, mindsets, and out comes. Sometimes hes not even breaking into vehicles. Sometimes (rarely) he'll surprise you. The goal here isn't to make 10 callouts in a pack that you simply show up and arrest someone, the goal is to make a single callout, with high replay value, and add new callouts on from there.
Either way, we all love videos. Here are a few to check out.

FinKone got a reaction from vladimir850 in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)Small update on the progress guys...
BEEN BUSY AS HELL! Honestly though its coming along nicely.
Changes since the last video :
Able to request suspect description from dispatch if you missed it.
Once suspect placed into custody you'll tell dispatch (its automatic) and they will not conduct welfare checks any longer. DONT FORGET TO GO 10-8 ONCE DONE WITH THE CALL!!
Partner will aid you in replying to dispatch if he is on scene and you are busy (he will auto-reply to dispatch)
Suspect will drop drugs more often, and randomly (still some what rare)
Suspect not always breaking into vehicles improved
Suspect has additional out comes (He might attempt to assault you without a weapon for a few seconds, then flee, for example)
Dismiss method of reporting person concludes better.
Reporting person might just had the subject they called about (points awarded for a reporting person that has warrants, investigate)
Better cleanup of most objects involved in the callout
Basic detection if the player is running code (which can spook the suspect) has been added, he might attempt to elude you before you get on scene if he hears you coming)

FinKone reacted to Lop in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)Definitely cannot wait for this to come out. Proper police callouts are here.
Are there going to be routine checkups on offenders? Like, if someone is loitering and you ask them to leave the area, will you be able to go back in 5 minutes and check up on that same person to see if they are there?
-
FinKone reacted to The Loot in [REL + WIP] Repeat Offender (Callout Series)Oh, that is looking sweet. Proper police business for LSPDFR!
You mentioned getting the vehicle owner down to assess damage, make sure to add asking them if they actually know the suspect. Maybe the whole thing's a misunderstanding.
