Sonny236 got a reaction from Tzscherper in LSPDFR 0.4.7 - Now Available!Ultimate backup and stop the ped are broken because of this. It's dumb why they would force disable the mod instead of just display a warning message. May I ask why you don't offer the old LSPDFR versions? you guys used to do it with LCPDFR, I'd downgrade back to 0.4.6 if I could while I wait...
I understand not supporting older versions/support requests for older versions but it should still be available to downgrade in cases like this.

Sonny236 reacted to Chodenji in LSPDFR 0.4.7 - Now Available!Sure, LSPDFR is "playable" without STP or Ultimate Backup, but you lose the functionality and features that they offer. After using these mods, LSPDFR feels rather bland playing vanilla.

Sonny236 reacted to LMS in LSPDFR 0.4.7 - Now Available! We will definitely make it an option and not change any existing behavior if we end up implementing it, so be assured you can still take care of your "pals".
Areas do have a crime status behind the scenes which also takes things such as time into account. Were you looking to override these?
I don't think there is a viable case here, it would only encourage people to continue with their behavior of blocking newer versions. It's frustrating and I get that, but I'd recommend to push for a change in plugins that do have these blocks instead of us supporting that behavior.

Sonny236 reacted to Will in LSPDFR 0.4.7 - Now Available!Rockstar's major (mod-breaking) updates are released generally in July and December, so not sure why you think they are releasing one soon.
The developer of those plugins has decided (for whatever reason) to add code that completely disables them under a bunch of different conditions, one of which is if you don't have the version of LSPDFR he developed them for installed. There is no reason for this as minor updates like this one do not affect plugins, but there is nothing the LSPDFR devs can do about it and they are not going to stop releasing updates because of one stubborn plugin developer.

Sonny236 reacted to cadmiumRED in Pointless FeaturesLSPDFR 0.4 doesn't take any more time to get in and play than 0.3, excluding the very first time you start the game. Once your character has been created, the process of going duty is nearly identical to 0.3; you go to the police station and go on duty, or, even faster, just forceduty. I like the 0.4 features, as superficial as they may be, and they don't make anything worse. Also, when you're addressing a small team that works on one of the best, most played GTA mods of all time, completely for free, maybe don't act like an insolent child.

Sonny236 reacted to Reddington in Pointless FeaturesI wanted to chime in and address this part. LSPDFR is roleplay. You're playing as a cop and doing things cops would do in real life (excluding the people who just mess around and do bad cop). When you approach a driver's door on a traffic stop, do you even think it in your head saying hello to the driver? When near a fellow officer, do you say hello? If yes, that is roleplay. A vast majority of the community - myself included - roleplay the hell out of LSPDFR to the point where we go and investigate scenes in depth even after we've shot the suspect, cleared the crash scene, etc.
Roleplay has been around for decades, even back to things you may not even realize is considered roleplay. It's much more popular than people realize.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with just hopping in to pull people over, give them a ticket and move on. Roleplay is not mandatory with LSPDFR, but it does enhance the gameplay significantly.

I will see about adding all the options to the .ini so that you can see them without looking at the Wiki, but we strongly feel that the Wiki is a valuable resource where we can explain things much better and provide up to date information.
The Wiki pages have hundreds of thousands of views, so I don't feel as though they are hidden away.

Sonny236 reacted to Will in Pointless FeaturesWhen did you conduct a survey on how many people like the feature? Genuinely curious where you're getting that info. Also, the addition of apartments does not impact your FPS or cause random crashes. Not sure why you'd even think that. You do realize GTA Online has all of this stuff and runs exactly the same as singleplayer, right?
Tons and tons of people wanting more roleplay style plugins would strongly disagree. Have you seen Computer+? It's literally paperwork simulator.

Sonny236 got a reaction from officershade in LCPDFR 1.0 crashes in various situations-snip-
Just saw the post about them working on stuff, and thats why they arent replying to some stuff. Continue doing what your doing, it will get fixed eventually. It just really bothers me when an amazing upgrade from the previous mod version comes out but I cant play it due to crashing every 5 minutes.

Sonny236 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.3 - Downtown Police StationThis is the third part of our LSPDFR 0.3 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.3, check out the second installment in this series here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/55363-lspdfr-03-backup-customization
Perhaps one of the hottest talking points about LSPDFR, even way before the modification was released, was the question of if and how LSPDFR would make use of the new police station interior in Downtown Los Santos. Indeed, while we attempted to incorporate the interior into the earliest versions of the mod - we were only really scratching the surface as to the potential it holds. Back then, there was also no way of unlocking the expanded version of the interior featuring the locker room, briefing room and downstairs areas, which always acted as a further limit to any plans we had for it.
The exciting news is that with LSPDFR 0.3, the entire interior is unlocked and open for exploration, and this is where the fun really begins. We've made a big effort to make the station come alive, much like we did the lawyers office in LCPDFR, but on a much larger scale. Now, while to go into great detail about all of the new scenes and scenarios in the station would be telling, you can take a look at a couple of the screenshots provided to get a mere taste of the sights and sounds of the Downtown Police Station.
The cool stuff we've put in with the Downtown Police Station doesn't end there, though. To allow for maximum immersion, you can now actually walk into the locker room and directly go on duty from inside, without any loading screens. By simply approaching the lockers and hitting a key, the camera will seamlessly transition to give a view of the player, with the familiar character selection menu appearing shortly after.
Continuing with this theme, LSPDFR 0.3 also introduces a great deal of new functionality for dealing with arrested perps. We'll cover most of this in the next installment of this series, but for now be safe in the knowledge that 0.3 lets you actually walk inside and drop-off your prisoners directly inside the cells. Plus, for those of you looking for the authentic southern Californian law enforcement experience, you can quite literally throw your prisoners down the stairs on the way there!
Of course, on the topic of arresting people, there's so much more that we could show you, but that'd maybe be a little too much awesomeness to take in for one day. Instead, stay tuned for the next part of this update series - you won't want to miss it!

Sonny236 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.3 - Backup CustomizationThis is the second part of our LSPDFR 0.3 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.3, check out the first installment in this series here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/55130-lspdfr-03-announcement-first-preview/
In spirit of keeping up to date with the most hotly requested features for future versions of LSPDFR, customization of responding police units simply had to be near the top of our list.
LSPDFR 0.3 introduces an all-new Backup XML file which lets you customize, in great detail, just what kind of cops and vehicles LSPDFR should dispatch for each of the seven in-built backup types. (The eagle-eyed among you are probably thinking "but wait, there's only six types". Not anymore!)
I like planes. Now, LSPDFR likes planes too.
The power of this new XML based system is absolutely unparalleled to anything we've ever had before in LSPDFR or LCPDFR, and also allows much, much more refinement than traditional .ini configuration files seen in other modifications like ELS. Presented in the same sort of format as many of the data files in the original game itself, we hope it will be super easy to use, too.
With this new feature, you can precisely choose:
The vehicles that respond for each backup type (and you can have as many as you like). + Vehicle liveries (on a per-vehicle basis) + Minimum and maximum number of occupants (again, for each vehicle) The peds that respond for each type (again, as many as you please).+ Ped component models (for each ped) On top of this, you can do the above customization for each of the four distinct areas within the game:
Blaine County North Yankton Los Santos Los Santos County That's right, this means you can now finally have different units operating all four different areas. Plus, if you're feeling particularly adventurous you could actually think of each of these areas as being a different entity entirely with their own state, local, SWAT and air units. There's really very little in terms of limits as to what you can do with this exciting new system.
Oh yeah, it doesn't even end there either. With 0.3, an all-new unit type has been added which, for the first time, lets you call for emergency medical services.
Furthermore, unlike the regular medics in the game, medical units dispatched by LSPDFR will actually attempt to treat injured pedestrians.
Just one more thing... As if completely configurable backup units and the new medics weren't enough, we also managed to make a few improvements to the way in which units arrive at backup requests. This means you can have scenes that look almost like they're straight out of a cop movie, without the trainer.

Sonny236 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.3 Announcement + First PreviewAfter a short break from the non-stop development of the first couple of versions of LSPDFR, we're really excited to officially announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.3. As you might have come to expect, LSPDFR 0.3 takes strongly after its predecessors, introducing a big bunch of groundbreaking new features and gameplay.
With actually only a few weeks of development, it is amazing how far this next version of LSPDFR has come, and the extent of fresh, new content and possibilities that it offers.
You asked, we listened. Arresting suspects has been drastically improved, especially with the brand new addition of interactive cuffing - no guns required!
With 0.3, we've taken the time to rebuild some of the core mechanics of the modification, particularly as it comes to arresting suspects. With a brand new interactive system, you can now easily and seamlessly place stopped suspects in handcuffs. The animations for this are incredibly fluid, as is the way in which the process works, with interactivity being a key component. In 0.3, when you arrest someone, there's a very tangible feeling of control - a massive improvement from earlier versions where, due to a reliance on normal playback, it could often feel as though you had been taken out of the game as you waited for an animation to finish.
The Vapid Police Interceptor makes its LSPDFR debut in 0.3. Well, with our entirely new and seriously powerful XML based backup unit customization, so does every other vehicle (and ped) in your game too!
We'll be sharing more about the features and changes in LSPDFR 0.3 over the next week or so, as we take a more in-depth look at what 0.3 brings to the table, including the full Downtown Police Station interior, amazingly improved interaction with suspects, and much more!

Sonny236 reacted to DLM3 in AI cops shooting cuffed suspectsAm I the only one or this issue is becoming more and more frequent? I am now very reluctant to call for backups because most of times they will shoot suspects when you arrest them. They don't even want to shoot them before but the second you cuff them they open fire, it's like cuffing suspects puts an hostile flag on them.
I have noticed this several times. Not long ago during a pursuit on foot with a couple of other cops for instance, they never tried to shoot the suspect, they even had their tazer ready. As soon as I cuffer her, they opened fire and killer her.

Sonny236 reacted to JHubbard92 in Cop specific calloutsHi all,
Thought that cop-specific callouts would be pretty cool. Nothing worse than selecting a NOOSE officer only to keep getting traffic callouts.
Got some ideas for each model type:
Cop/Sheriff/Highway Patrol - pursuits, traffic incidents, traffic stops, lower risk gun crime, lower risk drug crime, frisks, drunks etc.
NOOSE - Higher risk gun crime, hard traffic stops, homicide, high risk pursuits, hold-ups, bank heists etc.
FIB Agent - surveillance, hunt for high risk wanted persons (terrorists etc), investigate organised/gang crime, FIB agents only take down/arrest low to medium risk targets, otherwise handed over to FIB SWAT.
FIB SWAT - Same as FIB Agent, except the FIB SWAT do the heavy lifting and actually take down/arrest higher risk criminals/terrorists where applicable. Want the FIB NOOSE insignia option!
IAA - Bit tricky as they specialise in overseas intelligence and communications. Perhaps some surveillance based callouts, or even use the IAA model as a plain clothed police officer and have more cop related callouts?
DOA - All drug related callouts, high value drug deals, wanted drug lords, maybe more callouts around the port and airport for smugglers.
These are just vague ideas, and would require more creativity - (something that I'm not, creative). Obviously cops will have more regular callouts than, NOOSE, FIB, IAA etc, but that just adds some realism. Real-life FBI agents won't be getting surveillance calls every 1min. Maybe some value in an .ini to control how often callouts happen for each model.
I know these suggestions involve a lot of hard work and wouldn't just happen, but would love to see something similar one day!
Oh also, thank you @Sam for the excellent reference to Tekken, had to look twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things!

Sonny236 reacted to OfficerSquare in Casual handcuff animation?Woah dude..............
I was JUST looking at the gta5 police mod and I came to this forum to suggest this same exact thing. I also had the idea of the Interaction Menu. We can have a page called "Arrest Action" and we can set it from "Casual" to "Felony" or something like that. It's just really weird you asked this and had the same Interaction Menu suggestion, lol!

Sonny236 reacted to Obi636 in Casual handcuff animation? The worst thing right now that breaks me out of immersion in LSPDFR is the fact that I have to pull my gun on a Ped with a suspended license to arrest them.

Sonny236 got a reaction from CForceone in Casual handcuff animation?Along with an option to arrest people through the ped interaction menu, animations such as the ones below should be used, instead of the whole getting on their knees and all that for such minor offenses. I was unaware these existed, one of the various PoliceMods featured on gta5-mods has such and it looks pretty organized and maybe not as "choppy"
Just take a look.
Hmm...
Just thought this was interesting.

Sonny236 reacted to Synthacrat in Casual handcuff animation?Well now that you don't have anymore time constraints due to everyone getting the base mod with some great content, perhaps for a future release, an button like Shift-E or Ctrl-E to cycle through what arrest animation, or another type of system. No need to let animations get unused.
-
Sonny236 reacted toDeactivated Memberin Casual handcuff animation?Good point, perhaps an option for this along with the current one, say between 'soft-arrest' or 'hard-arrest' as an option.
