I'll have to give it a whirl later then. I get texture loss oddly frequently, not a whole lot, but enough to get on my nerves. I know why I get them, but if this may help cut down on that, I'll be a h

EFLC already seems to have this flag set. Maybe that's why people have found it to be more stable?

Agreed.

I haven't used this program, but EFLC is generally more stable than IV for me

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

I'll give this a shot with my current GTA IV install. If that doesn't help my texture problems, I'll give it a shot with EFLC. Good find.

I think EFLC has this flag set already, in a vanilla install. Certainly on Steam, it does: I ran this program, loaded EFLC.exe, and the flag was ticked; I unticked and reticked it, hit "save", and the checksum of the resulting file was the same as the checksum of the original.

Worked for me! Thanks A Bunch Man! +1 for the post.

Looks like this has given me a bit better FPS. Not sure on the crashing, but that weren't often in the first place anyway.

Thanks for showing this. Certainly quite useful.

Just tried it last night, works like a charm. Solved my disappearing texture problems without ENB. I'll try it with ENB later. Someone should sticky this.

yep in complete agreement.  If i only knew of it much earlier,  so many headaches would have been prevented.

My brother stopped playing couple months back from all the crashing on his system.

I'm looking forward to trying this this weekend. Thanks for posting it. I don't have the greatest PC in the world so anything to help it run IV smoother or with better quality is awesome in my book. Will post back with my results/thoughts on Thursday/Friday

I'm wondering if you have to keep the LAA program and the file it generates in the exact same location as when you first used it. Because now that I moved it off of my desktop, the game went back to having texture and crashing issues frequently again.

Maybe try moving it to the location you want it and then re-apply/re-install it.

I installed it just now and didn't check the box, it crashed right away after launching and gave me a WS10 error :wallbash: I was about to come on here and rant about how it messed up my game, lol, but I tried again and checked the 2GB box and it worked, no crashing. I only played for 5 minutes just to see if it improved it any. I can say it didn't make the game worse but I couldn't notice any major improvements in the few minutes I played. I'm going to be sitting down to play online later so I'll check it out more then. I didn't have many issues to start with except for the game slowing down sometimes at certain spots on the map with higher poly cars and of course if there is a lot going on at once it would slow down. Plus the occasional texture loss but it didn't make the game unplayable. So I'm fingers crossed it helps with that stuff

Yeah it didn't have any major effects on the game. At least I haven't noticed any. I restricted it to use no more than 2GB. Its working normal like it does. Nothing fancy happened.
