Looking back on a defining moment in the multiplayer community of GTA games
Enough time has passed that most of you here will probably have no idea what Fort Carson Roleplay was and to be honest, probably don't care - however, for those that remain and for those that are interested this post will take a look back at the server and showcase some of the most popular events that I can recall from memory.
    What was FC:RP?
Fort Carson RP was a server hosted and run by G17 Media, the guys behind LCPDFR and now LSPDFR and was set in the town of Fort Carson and the surrounding Bone County area running off the then latest SA:MP client. The main server team consisted of the old staff team over on lcpdfr.com and a few slim pickings from players on the server, overseen by @Sam and Cyan. The server opened in late 2011 (i think?) and started off small, it'd hit a max of about 20 players a day and the script was very bare, It was an edit of Sam's old modified version of the godfather script(?) that was used when he first launched the server way back in the GPM days.
Within a few months and some incredible script updates, the server exploded in popularity. At some points we had close to 70 players online consistently which led to some fantastic situations - some of which I'll detail in this post.
There were the standard factions that were scripted into the server, the sheriff's department headed by James Anderson, the FD/EMS faction which changed leadership many times, the one leader I can remember was a player named Geordie, SANN - Run by Sam himself and always trying to cause a headache for all in the SD in order for a decent headline.
But the real thing that made the server what is was, was the player-created factions. Ones that had no script support and were using pure roleplaying skills to survive, the main ones that spring to mind are the mafia, the rednecks, the used car dealerships and the hand car wash

The first general election for Mayor of Fort Carson
This event went on for weeks. Players of all kinds were encouraged to run for office and many debates were had between the top two candidates, hosted by Terence Carter of SAN news. Almost everyone who visited the server turned out for these events.

Protesters destroy police vehicles outside town hall in protest of corruption
The Government on the server was sometimes riddled with corruption - most people paid no mind to it and got on with what they wanted to do, but one fateful night, all hell broke loose. People were rioting in the street outside the town hall demanding that the current mayor be arrested for major corruption, many police vehicles were actually destroyed in this protest and it ended the next day when the current mayor was escorted out of the county to safety:

It wasn't all drama however, these big events were weeks - sometimes even months - between eachother. What made the server unique was the small situations the players would create almost everyday - From a simple drive to the shops to someone deciding to be drunk in public which at first was nothing, it was only when his other drunk friends arrived that it prompted more of a response:

And of course, there were the many car crashes:

And who could forget the great tractor chase the involved eight BCSD cruisers?

    In conclusion
FCRP was hands down, one of the best servers ever to grace San Andreas Multiplayer - I'd even go as far as to say it was the best server of any GTA game, be it third party MP or Rockstar Created. The server attracted high-level roleplayers from all walks of life and it really did show, along with the fantastic staff team that helped keep it all running smoothly it really was a incredible thing to be a part of.
Unfortunately, due to numerous issues, the server shut down in late 2012 / early 2013. It was originally a planned break whilst the script was updated as it was a heavy edit of a script that wasn't created to handle the amount of players we got. It however - never returned from its break.
If anyone is still around that played on the server, please feel free to add to this discussion, reminisce your favorite moments, share any pictures you may have.

Do you ever look into a mirror? -You- have a narrative. Something happens, it's muslisms' or black people's fault. An officer is attacked, it's a muslim or a black person, gotta be one. A shop is being looted, it's muslims immigrants or african americans, gotta be them. And if someone disagrees with you, they're nasty people hating the US and guns. And you dare tell others are close-minded and narcissistic? You can't be serious.

Being 30 (I do hope you actually aren't because otherwise it'd be scary af to act this way at this age) never stopped anyone to act like a child, which is exactly what you're doing. Repeating the same thing, over and over, and over and over and over like a kid asking "Are we there yet?". And don't you dare start talking about antogonize and instigate, because, and I'd love to remind you, this was supposed to be a discussion about a british officer being assaulted, and YOU brought France in the discussion, YOU directly named me even though I didn't talk to you but about the topic discussed at hand in the first place, all by yourself. Stop trying to victimize yourself because it won't work, everyone can see through your petty attempt at saving yourself.

Not going to debate the gun issue, been over that countless times before, especially as it relates to the UK: https://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/83855-texas-school-shooting/?do=findComment&comment=547070

It's totally incorrect to suggest that our police fear for their lives and are begging for guns, though.  The Police Federation often surveys the police on this and there's little appetite for all police officers to be issued with guns with the most recent survey suggesting two thirds remain opposed to it.  It's an idea similarly opposed by the vast majority of senior police officers (if not all of them) and I think that just about everyone here embraces the unique model of policing that we have - I think you have to understand that it's very different to what you have in the US, especially as it relates to using force.  Indeed, it is frequently reported that police forces throughout England & Wales are actually struggling to recruit enough firearms officers - the vast majority just don't want to carry guns.  Even drawing the gun would be considered a reportable use of force here where paperwork must be filed after...  You simply couldn't do that in the US - you'd probably run out of paper.

On the contrary, you are entirely correct when you say that the Conservative government has cut police funding, and these cuts do appear to be having a worrying impact - especially as it relates to the numbers of officers.  I think that there's much greater public awareness of this now (it is frequently reported throughout the media, and it's not a left wing or right wing issue) and I'd be surprised if the government doesn't allocate extra funding in the next budget as they are starting to see the blowback from it.

If you want to compare shootings in the US to terrorist attacks in France, you should provide both sides. According to your own data, there have been 274 deaths caused by terror attacks in France in the past 15 years. Based on http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/ there have been 10,381 deaths as a result of shootings in the US in 2018 alone.

I'm not providing an opinion to either side of this debate, but no one is going to take you seriously if you don't acknowledge the facts from both sides.

Also, I don't see how what's going on in France is even relevant here. Knock it off with your off topic personal attacks against people not from the US.

Yeah, sorry stupid me for not listening to someone from 4000 miles away on what is going on in my own country. I retract all my statements on everything I have ever said.

Oh wait, that is right. You are wrong, so wrong to the point I struggle to tell if you believe the stuff you post or whether you are just trolling.

I come from one of the most deprived areas in the entire country, the same area you are most likely to see all these 'islamic immigrants' you speak of who are doing all these nasty mean things. Yet when I go out I don't seem to see them at all, kinda confusing don't you think. Maybe I should follow Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon to find all those criminal muslims he sees, oh and by Stephen I mean the guy with the pseudonyms Tommy Robinson and Andrew McMaster, boy he seems awfully big into sounding like a true british man.

As far as I'm aware, there's no possible way to do what you're describing as it's generally advised to not save the game once you've been on duty.

Closest thing you can do is Michael actually has a LSPD outfit he can wear, I believe it might be available in the closet but if not it can be found in simple native trainer. There are some life mods out there but I'm unsure on their compatibility with LSDPFR.

On topic though, this is a nice find - it looks quite like the old SWAT games which I really enjoyed.  Could be great fun to play with others in co-op.

The roleplay there was some of the best to be had (with some fun to be had too, like giving a full police escort to the man street sweeping the roads out on route 9, the real roleplay MVP), and I met a lot of great guys too who I still keep in touch with. It's nice to see these pictures of the server (I even see me too!) and rehash the old memories from back then. Gooooood times.
