I am sad that it has come to this, but I feel as though it is my time to leave this community. I've met many friends here and felt it would be easier to announce my departure in a forum topic instead of messaging members individually.

 

It has been clear that this community has taken a massive nose-dive recently in terms of moral standards and I feel as though the community team are no longer the caring and welcoming humans that they once were when I joined, and the community is now full of immaturity and hate.

 

I've been here for just over 3 years now and I've had a real good time and as I've mentioned met some real nice people, but it irritates me to the core to see people treating each other this way. I'm not sure what is to blame, whether it's the constant stream of young children, or the community team who lack any sign of care. Maybe it's the lack of leadership or sense of direction within the community.

 

What is a real shame is how the community team seems to change the members who join them. They become controlling and power crazy, I get the impression that they feel they are superior on every level and in my opinion that is not what a community is about. The respect that was once in this community has completely gone and that is why I feel the way I do.

 

Over the past year or so, I've seen a concerning level of bullying and abuse within this community, even some of it from the community team members themselves. I've seen many of my friends forced out of this community by the staff and members here, and it's a real wonder why I have waited this long to leave.

 

Anyway, it's 4AM, I'm tired and I apologise if any of the above makes little or no sense. I wish everyone the best of luck, especially my friends.

Sorry to hear it man. I have to say, I agree with you. Lack of maturity and hospitality from this generation has a big part of it, and also the community staff is also changing in more bad ways then good. They seem to be bothering people for little unimportant things, and not doing much for the important things.

AlconH I just want to say this, you're one of the few people who actually have maturity and you correct people when they do wrong, that's what I liked about you, you were a awesome person, and it's sad to see another member go, even though I haven't know you that long, you were still a great person to get to know. Hopefully we can still communicate through other forms such as email, YouTube etc, have a great life alconH. DFTBA! :)

You do have a point...he don't really take crap from no one...lol. But that's what happens when immature and rude people show up. Now i'm not blaming the entire staff either, they can't control everything and be everywhere.....but some of them are pretty power hungry and need to go.

 

I've had a few friends already "leave" LCPDFR, few things have to happen on LCPDFR, one is staff (that's all im gonna say...lol) and the other is people are gonna need to learn to be nice and get along and stop this bullying crap...this is a VIDEO GAME, it's not the end of the world, people need to stop the drama and learn to just deal with things....just my little rant.

 

Like i said, we'll miss seeing Tom on the forums and around lcpdfr.

Sorry to see you leave. I never really knew you however I did use that slicktop Crown vic with the Talons you did. I loved that car when I first started play IV a year ago. I do agree with the whole Community being full of complete bullshit. Anyways, I hope to see you around.

Hopefully you'll just come back again? ;)  it's sad to see you go for these reason I 100% Agree and you said it well, the forums will certainly be worse off without you

I don't personally know you, but judging from the responses, I would say you're a pretty great guy & I'm sure the forums will feel your absence.

 

I have seen a lot of people mention about a declining maturity level & such. I'm not sure if I should say this gladly or sadly, but I haven't seen much of it. Then again, I usually don't browse the forums other than the Top 10 recent list & the Support forums from time-to-time.

From what little I know (which may be incorrect), I think it's mainly in the downloads & media sections. If anyone wants to enlighten me, send me a PM.

It's sad to see another member leave. Good luck with your life, Tom. You do make some valid points about the behavioral change in the community these past few years. Although the moderation seems pretty fine to me, it's a lot better than some sites.

Tom - I knew you almost from the beginning when I joined the site.I think I met you shortly after I released my first model. We talked about a lot of stuff over PM's and agreed on a lot of topics. I've been here for just over 3 years now

I joined this community a little before you if my memory serves me correctly. Some time in early 2011, and the mod has gained significant popularity and enjoyed massive amounts of media exposure since that time. As population changes, so does the administration, along with other unavoidable circumstances like real-life commitments. That being said, the forums don't seem to be very different from the day I joined in my view. We've had some renovations and I would agree; a new crop of people come in here creating "new types of threads", but that doesn't make this a place full of unrest and chaos. All large communities have house-keeping issues. Just read the comments on the IGN website. They have corporate money and it's like the wild west out there. As far as whatever grievances you may or may not have with G17 staff; I can't really comment on it. Nobody can but them and you. Lord knows I've had my own grievances and I've sorted them out on my own terms which ended up keeping everyone happy. But I think it's best to keep that stuff to yourself, and posting a "goodbye" post like this only incites more unrest if you ask me. But I'm glad you kept things classy.

I'm sorry to see a contributing poster leave, no matter the circumstance. Good luck in your future endeavors.

It's sad to see someone leave... Please don't. I never really talked or knew you but judging from other people perspective and personal refrences to you seem to make you out as a great guy. Please comeback one day!

Even if not, the Moderator's, Community Team members and Managers like you should always thank them for joining, and make them feel it is a nice place here... I don't get why you said nobody has to say bye.. example ;

 

If a family member/friend of yours leaves your house cause he came over to play COD with you [EXAMPLE ] then you are 100% going to say bye my friend, see you next time.. so I don't get the sense here =D

I understand what you mean, but no one has to post. We're all equal, as said above. And besides, I did post! :D
