Pavelow got a reaction from IFFYISBEEFY in Should UK Police Be Given Standard Issue Guns?
The argument that guns are hard to obtain, is null and void. It's like drugs. Just because they're illegal and hard to obtain, doesn't mean they're not prominent. It'l super easy to buy them, if you know what you're doing. If a thug wants to carry a gun, believe me, he'll get one.

Saying that they have a better rep than US police officers because they don't carry guns, is ignorant and stupid. The problems in the US aren't caused because they have guns, it's psychological (maturity, power trip, racism, etc.). I don't see any reason why they shouldn't. Especially with the way the world is going.

I dislike both candidates. Hillary is the epitome of what's wrong with politicians in our country. She's a liar and fraud. Trump is an obnoxious bigot. But, I'd rather have a bully as a leader than a murderer. The mere fact that Hillary is able to run for office and still have 2 criminal investigations ongoing shows how messed up of a country we are. And, at the end of the day, I'd rather go to work knowing my president isn't going to throw me under the bus.

Let me ask you a question. You're in France. Does what ISIS did make you mad? Make you feel like you France should do something? Because that's what's happening there.

I don't give a fuck if your mortar kills 1 Israeli citizen. That's an act of war. You know damn well that any other major country would respond the same way. Officially, in response to 9-11 we overthrew a whole country, and started a conflict that lasted for more than 10 years. People never complained about it, until they realized it was for other reasons. The point is the world was fine with you US doing that in retaliation.

Israel is getting attacked, they're responding. Don't play the use of force card, they're justified when Hamas detonates a suicide bomb, or launches a mortar.

You do realize that they were herded onto that land, but EVER ME country practically declared war on them with no provocation. It's not PALESTINE fighting for their lands, anymore. It's Islamic terrorists from all over the ME wanting to eradicate the Jewish people.

There's interviews with the so called freedom fighters, and they're not even Palestinian.

You do realize that Israel didn't start this conflict, right? They were more or less herded there by the UN, and every country around them declared war on them. They've been fighting in defense of their country since they formed. They didn't ask for violence. They wanted a place to call home from the displacement from WWII, and they were just forced unto that small piece of land, and then they get attacked through no provocation of their own. It's debatable about their growth as a country, but they never wanted this conflict. That is why they generally are NOT the ones to break cease-fires. It's peaceful over there until Hamas decides to throw a few mortars.
And I'm sorry, when your country is attacked, that is an act of war which you brought on yourself. If Palestine doesn't want to get the shit bombed out of them, stop launching mortars. They're poking the beehive which is Israel with a stick.

You seem to be hating because "everyone else is". You should read up on the history and make an informed decision before you just go saying "I'm so sick of Israel".

But regardless of you being informed of their situation, did you know Palestinians (Hezbollah influenced ) use public executions and suicide bombing? Did you know that Hezbollah (terrorists from all over the ME) make up the majority of the so called "Freedom Fighters for Palestine"? Did you know that organization has ties to ISIS?

I highly encourage you to read up on their formation and history from the 40s and make an informed opinion.

Hmmm. Guess I'll come out of hiding for this topic.

No you don't need a degree to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. Each department is different, check their requirements.
Have a clean driving/criminal record and don't try to hide ANYTHING during the background investigation phase.
Military is not exactly a BIG plus in terms of chances for getting the job. They don't want hardened combat vets in today's policing world. I'm an LEO now, and former military (Air Force Security Forces, and I did deploy to A-stan so I'm talking from experience.) Sorry to hear about your rejection, btw. The AF is picky AF nowadays.
Please do a ride-a-long BEFORE any potential interview and let the officer know you've applied and tell the interviewer that you did do a ride-a-long (that gives them some kind of direct reference to go to, and somebody who could potentially recommend you.)

Ohio is a hard state for LEO, however. Honestly, I'd recommend the Highway Patrol (I'm a current trooper in another state). I know OHP requires only a HS diploma and they're in need. They love young men & woman who could make a career out of it.
It's the hardest and longest training you'll go through (paramilitary training and environment), but nothing beats the immense pride you'll carry with you. I'd compare it to the Marines of law enforcement. You went through harder and longer training than anybody else and more is expected of you. There's a reason troopers carry themselves with such pride and they are looked up to by citizens and other LEAs alike. NOTHING beats that feeling of wearing your campaign cover for the first time with the badge.

Instead of moving the files to patchday 4 or 5, I would just install your new vehicles into that folder and leave the old ones where they are. The game will read the files from the latest patchday folder and use those. But leaving the old cars where they are allows you to delete your modified cars and go back to vanilla if you find the need to. Or you can extract the vehicle files from the various folders in Open IV and install copies into your chosen patchday folder if you'd like.
I used patchday5 because it was the highest folder I found with a vehicles.rpf file, and that file only had a couple of vehicles in it, which made it much easier to keep track of my police vehicles, instead of having to find them by sorting through ALL the game's vehicles. I would think that either one would work though.

Well maybe I can help a little bit.
First, I should say that I personally don't use a mod folder, so I don't know the specifics of setting that up. It's not required, although if you don't use one, you'll be modifying the game files themselves and you run the risk of messing something up. In my case, I have the Steam version so I can verify the game files and download the originals easily, and I also back up every file I tinker with. Someone else might be able to point you to a tutorial if you want to set up a mod folder.
As for the cars, it's quite different than GTA IV. Because of Rockstar updates, various cars are located throughout various locations, and it can be a pain to sort out. For myself, I solved this by putting all of my modified police vehicles into the "patchday5ng" folder, and so far everything has worked perfectly.
The exact path to the file is GTA V/update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday5ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf
This is the file that you open up in OpenIV and where you can put all of your police vehicles.
Now, this is a complete list of the available default police vehicles:
    fbi, fbi2, police, police2, police3, police4, policeb, policet, pranger, riot, sheriff, sheriff2

Depending on the configuration, each vehicle can have up to 4 files total, like this:
police.yft - The actual vehicle model file, normal version
police_hi.yft - The actual vehicle model file, high res version
police.ytd - The texture file, normal version
police+hi.ytd - The texture file, high res version
All vehicles follow this naming structure. Some may have all 4 files, some may not. When you want to replace textures on a vehicle, you want to replace each individual texture in both the normal and high res files, and then you can view what it looks like by clicking on either of the yft files.
In addition, things can get more complex when you have to edit other files like vehicles.meta or carvariations.meta to make sure the handling, lights, and other stuff work correctly. Really, the best way to learn is by trial and error and by following instructions in readme files. Most models have specific instructions on how to install them. The only thing that I personally do differently is that I install all my stuff in the file I mentioned above, so that way if I mess anything up, I can simply delete those files, restore my backups of the vehicles.meta and carvariations.meta files, and start again from scratch.
Hopefully this was a bit helpful. I know the whole thing is seriously confusing.

The L.A.P.D. have a long history of police corruption and police brutality with ownership to the 1991 Rodney King beating and plenty of other charges of police brutality and misconduct! The L.A.P.D. also used to have a history of ties with the local Los Angeles area crime mafias back in the early 1900's. :D

Exactly what I3ubba said. Military Police is nothing like civilian. I was security forces in the AF and what I did there, was nothing like being a sworn LEO in the civilian world. Much more freedom, less political bullshit to navigate, and in my opinion much more fun and enjoyable. Not to mention the many different laws, and the fact that Military Police seem to be the "all the bad eggs in one basket" type of generalization. Most people get sent there if they don't get the job they want, thus contributing to many people who will make you miserable.
