AlconH got a reaction from Officer Mike Lucas in [CALLING ALL DEVS] Standardisation of API Plugin ColorsOkay, so following onto my previous thread, I, along with the other devs on LSPDFR are going to create a standardised list of colors for use on blips and routes in LSPDFR API development.
Devs, if you have a scenario that isn't covered by the list, please post below and I'll add it in. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please also post.
GPS BLIPS AND RADAR COLOURS
BLIP SIZES
Blips sizing should be as follows:
Vehicles: 1.0 Peds: 0.75 PEDS + VEHICLE BLIPS
ZONES
Primary search areas (prior to accepting a callout) (Drawing.Color.Yellow)
ROUTES
All routes should be Yellow (Drawing.Color.Yellow)
NOTIFICATIONS, HELP PROMPTS AND SUBTITLES
Ensure that all blips are the same colour as they are when highlighted in any on screen text. For example, suspects are red, and should be highlighted in text as red too. Minimal colour should be used within on-screen text. Color should only be used to highlight key information or to highlight the colour of a particular person or object on the map. Examples: Exactly the same should apply to subtitles at the bottom of the screen. Use color to only highlight the key information. As plugins get updated to follow the above, we'll have a much more immersive plugin system that doesn't have strangely mismatched colours.

AlconH reacted to Reddington in What do I want my police vehicle to sound like? How can I change the audio on my car?
If wanting to change the audio for a default slot, such as police, police2, etc: In OpenIV, navigate to mods-->update-->update-->common-->data-->levels-->GTA5.
If you're wanting to change the audio for a standalone car, navigate to where you installed the meta for that car.
Extract the vehicles.meta to your desktop.
Open the file, and find the line of the vehicle you want to modify. You'll see this line:
<audioNameHash />
Rockstar has set it up to where the vanilla slots don't need to have anything else there for the namehash. I'm not sure how that works exactly. For standalone cars, if it just has <audioNameHash />, the vehicle will not have any sound at all. For most people, they never touch the audio name hash and stick with default sounds. However, it's really awkward to drive around a Tahoe and have it sound like a Vic, right? Below I'll list the proper way the namehash should look when you edit it, and then I'll include a list of cars you can put in the namehash to make your vehicles sound more realistic.
Contrary to what some people might think, if you have ELS, you can use civilian car names in the audio name hash. However, you will also have the normal car radio activated. The only way to fix this is either turning the music all the way down/off, or going in the options menu each time and changing the radio to off. Before we continue, I need to point something out. If you are not using ELS, this guide won't be as beneficial to you. The audionamehash dictates how your vehicle sounds and if it has a siren. If you change the namehash to anything but a police car, you will no longer have emergency services capability in your vehicle.
If you're looking for a specific vehicle, you can search using CTRL + F and enter keyword.
This is how it should look once you've edited it: <audioNameHash>police</audioNameHash>
Crown Vic
police stanier
Dodge Charger
2010 and under (or using the old body style), use police2 2011+ Charger, windsor
Ford Taurus/Caprice/Impala
fugitive (I personally prefer this one. Sounds a lot meaner) police3 schafter3
Ford Explorer
gresley nightshark
Chevrolet Tahoe
baller
Ford Expedition
fbi2/sheriff2/pranger (all three of them are essentially Expeditions, so take your pick) granger nightshark
Chevrolet Silverado / Ford F-150 / Ford F-350
bison sadler sandking (this might work better for the F-150, 350s and Raptor)
Dodge Durango
baller gresley nightshark
Dodge Challenger
gauntlet gauntlet4
Ford Mustang
dominator
Ford Fusion
tailgater (fugitive can also work, it depends on your taste)
BMW Motorcycle
hakuchou
Harley Davidson Electraglide
wolfsbane
Chevrolet Corvette
coquette
Chevrolet Avalanche
There is not currently a GTA version of the Avalanche, so you can refer to the suggested audio for Chevy Silervado, or play around with it and find one you prefer.
Chevrolet Camaro
gauntlet
Dodge Magnum
windsor gauntlet4 (if newer version of the Magnum) gauntlet (if older version) nightshark
If you think a certain namehash works better with "blank" car, send me a PM!

AlconH reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4.2 - Coming Soon!Hot off the release of LSPDFR 0.4 a couple of months ago, we're upping the ante with another update which brings not only sweeping improvements to the LSPDFR 0.4 API, but also some unique features which have long been requested.
Originally, the plan was merely to release 0.4.2 as a quick follow-up to 0.4 and 0.4.1 - just simple fixes and changes, plus the API improvements to help developers make the most of 0.4. Necessary changes, but not really cool enough, right? So, with that in mind we took a little time to dig back into the archives of LSPDFR and revisit some of our old concepts and ideas. Now, while some of these are actually in the mod - they're most likely either tucked away as 'easter eggs' or just disabled because they weren't quite right.
If you're a connoisseur of traffic stops, for example, you might've noticed that occasionally the unexpected and oh so demoralizing experience of pulling over a federal agent hits you right in the feels as they arrogantly flash their shiny badge, tell you where to stick your comparatively less shiny badge, and drive off. (If you haven't seen this before, here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNOxZR2ak0M)
Originally the plan was to add this as a feature for players to use, but it just didn't quite fit in with 0.3, and we had some trouble with the animation not being quite as fluid as we'd like. That was then, though, and given that you now play as your own character both on and off duty, we thought it'd be a bit of a must-have now, so we've tidied it up and are introducing it as a player action in 0.4.2.
With one quick glance at the shimmering shield, her problems are suddenly your problems. (Note, a custom badge model is shown instead of the default FIB one - you will be able to define custom models to use on a per-agency basis)
Now, not only does this look exceedingly awesome, but it serves a practical purpose too. Available both on and off-duty, showing your badge will clear any wanted level and may also instill the fear of the law in nearby citizens, potentially de-escalating the otherwise unavoidable confrontations that flare when you walk around Mirror Park without the latest iFruit phone, for example!
Of course, that's not all. Continuing with the idea of adding things that are just generally cool, we know that people have wanted a ballistic shield feature in LSPDFR for quite some time. Sure, you can spawn one with a trainer or download another mod, but it's just not quite the same is it?
We thought it'd be particularly sweet to have it at your fingertips instead, fully integrated with LSPDFR, ready to kick some butt.
As if being Frank Tenpenny isn't cool enough...
Our ballistic shield, accessed from the Interaction Menu, uses our new animation system in 0.4.2 which we think looks absolutely gorgeous. There's also the freedom to switch between Stealth and Action mode which will vary your pose accordingly, compatibility with most weapons and the potential for future AI support.
Oh yeah, did we mention you can actually arrest people at gunpoint while holding a freaking shield?!
Keep your eyes open for LSPDFR 0.4.2, coming soon.

AlconH reacted to cp702 in Using custom EUP wardrobe outfits for AI officersThe biggest catch is that LSPDFR uses zero-indexing while EUP uses one-indexing. In other words, EUP "Upper Body 5" is LSPDFR "uppr 4".

AlconH got a reaction from Cpl.Griffiths in Upgrading ProcessorNot really. Higher clock speed is more important, most games can only utilize ~4 cores. I believe GTA V may use more, however clock speed is still more important.

AlconH got a reaction from flwpheonix in What did you do?I disagree. I used to be highly active on these forums, and so were many others around the time. This community turned toxic, with a high influx of pre-teens who completely changed the feeling of the forums. Yes, we may have made the choice to leave, but that choice was influenced by the behaviour of others and to make out that this is not the case is exactly why we had a problem in the first place.
