They don't need to use them, but it would be good to have lightbar on it, but only for cars spawned by mod, not traffic. That way 75% Speedos in city would be normal vans and 25% coroner vans without lightbar, but Speedos spawned by mod would have correct livery AND lightbar.

Another solution is to have normal Speedo, without any extra lights but mapped so it can use custom skins. That solves the problem with ELS/nonELS, but I would have to find default Speedo but mapped.

By "that" what version do you mean?

We would have to choose which version would be the best one:

1. only nonELS Speedo mapped but without any lightbar

2. only nonELS Speedo mapped with lighbar as extra (switched off by default, not functioning)

3. nonELS van from point 1 or two + ELS Speedo (there would be no way to trurn whole lightbar off on that one, right?)

To be honest I would prefer option 1. ELS fans still would be able to change car on their own. I've been looking at some pictures of coroners cars and usually they have no lighbars or are just ambulances, so it would be good enough.

I may be able to help you with something... I have been playing with the vehicle.ide file recently... I'm trying to increase the Police car slots in my game. If I can actually change one of the IDE lines to become a cop car in game, You might be able to use a non els option for the speedo. I will get back to you once I tested my IDE line

Non-ELS only works in police slots and not civillian slots...

As I said before it is not that necessary to have nonELS Speedo with flashing lightbar. I will leave a line in the mod that will activate lightbars if they are available, so if someone will change car to one in police slot it should work just fine.

ok.... I still in the process of changing certain settings in the common file to change speedo to a police vehicle. It will take awhile before I can confirm whether the settings would work as the changing the IDE file only changes certain things and not changing it to a police slot. I should be able to get back to you by Friday.

Tom H I'm aware of that. In option 2 it would have lighbar but not flashing. I still prefer to have normal Speedo, only mapped to give it LC METT skin (I can do skins myself).

Glad to see your projects are progressing nicely, Abraxas. When you do plan to implement callouts into PoliceHelper, will you be taking to the community for suggestions?; that would provide quite a bit of variety IMO.

Totally forgot to answer your question. I'm always opened to new ideas. Not everything is possible to script. Big problem is that I can't invoke pursuit by script. Of course I can make suspect to run away with car but LCPD:FR pursuit options like back up etc won't work. Despite that I think I will be able to make some new, entertaining callouts.

I was planning to add that ELS Speedo to my mod, but had problem with non-ELS one. Thank you. Now I just have to get permissions from authors :)

I plan to make those models to have one Coroner livery and rest as usual like pizza delivery. Problem is that they may still have lightbars and I don't know if it is possible to set which extras show with certain livery, or keep extras switched off and switch them only only with mod. Is there any car modder that could help me?

i dont know if it will benifit you.but i have seen Ekalb's made a buffalo which alternates randomly in game to a slicktop and lightbar version .the advantage is you can have 2 different models in the same slot.i think if it could be applied to vapid speedo, that would be awesome and serve your CORONER purpose. and also have a lot more variety.you can talk to Ekalb about it.hope it helps.loving your PH mod.quality scripting.please keep it up.here is what i was talking about-

No problem, and although script-based chasing is impossible, there are certainly options for fantastic calls. By just watching a few episodes of COPS, many come to mind - burglaries/larcenies/robberies, protests, fights-in-progress, officer requesting backup, etc. Once again, I cannot thank you enough for your service to GTA IV's LCPDFR modding community. :D

Burglaries etc - would be great but there is a problem with chase. It would be superb if thieves jump into truck and run away, but then player would not be able to request backup etc, so it leaves only runaway on foot.

Protests - interesting, but how would that work? We get for example 10-15 people (limited memory) and then what? Player stand and watch them, or what?

Fights - quite easy

If we're gonna start throwing suggestions out there, I'd personally like to see domestic's without fighting peds.

I've also been kicking the idea of a scripted vehicle search around. Something that would function similarly to the Check Ped ID function. It wouldn't have to look pretty or anything, but a simple press of a key next to a stopped vehicle with a following readout of contents (IE "Your search revealed a narcotics pipe and 50 lbs. of marijuana") and vehicle information (IE expired registration, swapped plates, no insurance, etc.) would add a lot of variety and realism to the LCPD:FR experience. Maybe the two could even be separate functions, like a plate run and a basic search (which could be refused by the ped).

I dunno, just a couple ponderings. Let me know if you still need an English proofreader. :smile:

Vehicle search and data check, or even papers check of ped in car would be cool, but there may be some problems. It may conflict with LCPD:FR during traffic stop. I will check if it is possible without causing problems in LCPD:FR, but it has low priority for now.

Actually I need someone to proofread. I'm absolutely sure that I have tons of errors in texts in METT/Coroner mod. I'll gather all texts , but probably after sending first beta to testers (still don't know when).

I think I heard somewhere that if you set a car's driver to the Criminal relationship group, then he will run if you try to pull him over. Then you could tell players to try to pull the robber over, at which point it would become a chase.
