Could there be a way to edit the texture on the ballistic shield by any chance ?

Looking forward to LSPDFR plugin developers being able to use all the great new API enhancements in this update! This update will really open up a lot of new possibilities for callouts and plugins. Bi

what would be cool is if we can control the spotlight on the cars hands on and make it turn like in real life

learn HOW TO MAKE A MOD AND TELL PEOPLE WHERE TO PUT THE CARP

ohhh damnnnn cannot wait for this update looking forward to it i hope that the AL cop can be fixed as sometimes whenever i arrest the suspect some cop just stand there not getting back to their vehicle instead either  standing around or not moving at all atm i am using stop and have change the ini files for takecontrol all  arrest to set No  also maybe fixed all ambulance fire and coroner to make them not park in the middle of the road since peds  keeps crashing into it But FUNNY ahahhahah

just wanting to know if these can be fixed for next update or so

And integrating L.A. Noire into LSPDFR kinda sounds ridiculous. This would mean, that most of the mod authors would have to convert their vehicles to the 1940s, the police uniforms to the 40s, probably the police station as well, whatever sheriff units they had back then. This would be a huge hassle and a lot of work to do.

Wish it was able to be used with the cracked version. I hate when Steam updates the game and i have to wait to play..

Keep a copy of your exe files, your update.rpf, and your steamapi.dll and you can usually still play the previous version until things are updated.

probably as it has a texture and if its in the GTA files it can always be accessed through Openiv

I can understand the hype, but to me, this is kind of a disappointment not in the sense that it's a bad mod but lemme give you an analogy, to sum up, my feelings on this!

LSPDFR 0.4.2

feels like it's going to be like the Nintendo Wii u, sure it's nice, cool, and new! (mostly because when it launched there was only a handful of games for it till it was replaced by the switch)

That's all it is, I'm kinda missing the 0.3 days, not to say 0.4 isn't good on its own right it's just that this mod while inventive and ambitious feels kind of lackluster as far as plugins and mods for it and now we are going to have to wipe the board clean and retrofit what was available for  0.4.1 into the new version. We had tons of mods and plugins for 0.3 and they were a blast working with! 0.4 came along and added a new flavor to the mix which was cool in its own right but then 0.4.1 came along and there is only a hand full of things for it and now 0.4.2 is coming and we're starting with a clean slate for the future going forward! (factoring in people's lives outside LSPDFR) if I could request anything from @sam Id ask for this!

"Sam is there a possibility that you and your team could incorporate some form of backward compatibility with the 0.4 edition of lspdfr going forward after that!"

if you could pull this off I would be very grateful, along with others as well!

I get what you mean regarding 0.3 to 0.4. I was lucky to not start playing until the release of 0.4 so missed having to see what I could/couldn't continue to use, however if a mod/plugin works for 0.4 it usually works for 0.4.1. There's no reason to assume that mods for 0.4.1 won't continue to work with 0.4.2.

its just waiting for the people who made the plugins and callouts for 0.4 to convert them to 0.4.1 and then 0.4.2 which could take a long time! people have lives outside lspdfr and we could be waiting months for this.

In a weird kind of way, it's kinda like Minecraft in the sense that it gets several updates so much so that mod developers get tired of shifting versions over so it could support the latest version that the quit doing it and that's the end of that!

I hope that you can understand that, from my perspective!

I understand completely. It's like with callout packs; they are the heart of the LSPDFR experience for me yet there are now less than a handful that can be used without issue because they've not been updated for 0.4. I just wouldn't be so quick to assume everything will need updating - most things should still function in 0.4.2 with little to no input. It's 0.4.2, not 0.5 yet 🙂

My mrs is the Minecraft fanatic in this house, but she's always complaining about updates breaking things lol.

Plugins compatible with 0.4.1 will not need to be recompiled to support 0.4.2 unless mod authors intentionally put version checking in to prevent their mod from working on newer versions. There are a bunch of new API methods which will open up many new possibilities for mod authors, but the previous API functions are all fully backwards compatible. This is a much less disruptive change than 0.3 -> 0.4.

if this is the case then why is lspdfr crashing every time I try to load it?

There could be any number of reasons from incorrectly installed plugins, conflicting keybinds, missing dependencies etc. If LSPDFR is crashing "every time" you try to load it, I'd recommend asking for help to ID the problem. If you take a look at my profile, you'll see my active mod list for 0.4.1. It's stable and I only get crashes when I mess up after mucking around with file editing. I'm confident that your issue(s) can be resolved - my list is proof of this.

Maybe if you post your crash log when it occurs next, the community can advise you of possible steps to try 🙂
