The pursuit AI in 0.3 can't be "any worse", as it hasn't changed at its core.

I swear officers didn't slam into the back of traffic during pursuits back in .02 as incredibly often as they seem to do now, though I can't 100% point at GTAV or LSPDFR itself with my modified game anyways. Suspects sometimes don't seem to run hard enough, and end up stuck behind traffic instead of going around them. They also tend to stay in blocked vehicles until they can wiggle free, and the officers don't seem to want to pull them out very often.

The only issues I really can point at is that foot officers sometimes don't return to their vehicle when a suspect drives off, or their vehicle despawns, and they just stay standing in that spot even if the pursuit moves to the other side of the map. The new Cleanup plugin someone made helps, though obviously interferes with the active pursuit.

I believe in one of jeffs videos he mentioned how the ai for the bike cops is actually less aggressive and doesnt ram during pursuits, and that he mentioned it to sam to look into. Maybe it will be possible to distribute the way the bike ai works to the rest of the police ai.

AI is always mindful of bikes (and trucks too in a way), whether it's a suspect on the run that will just come to a stop behind if needed or cops, so if there was a way to make the AI consider our unit as a bike I am sure it would be the perfect solution to be acknowledged as primary for good. Have you guys look into that possibility?

As for me, I don't think the AI is worse, it would be very hypocritical, sometimes you can see that the AI tries to avoid you, this is a definite change to 0.2b where they would ram you all the time. It is not yet possible to be a primary unit without being PIT'ed but this is an improvement. Then there is also the fact that the AI is now way better at boxing the suspect's vehicle, that's super nice to see.

Overall I think that 0.3 is great, my only gripe is that we lost control of how much units we want to respond with the auto-backup feature, I still have to install and check Albo's new plugin!

This has been improved a lot in my opinion. In 0.2 they were stuck behind some slow traffic (or even a single vehicle) but now they always go around. They also do a little better in oncoming traffic now, and even use alleys sometimes. I really love it.

I'm sure it will all get better with future releases.  Who knows, maybe it is a combination of 0.3 and some of the more recent updates from Rockstar.  Like mixing soy sauce with a birthday cake.

It is reproducible - I've managed to get it to work pretty well, in addition to more respect for the player as a primary officer. As I said above, I might include this in a future Traffic Policer update when I get it perfect.

Looks like some people fail to remember that GTA V is a game and not a simulation of real life.  One of them is even getting angry at how a Highway Patrol unit that was in traffic joins in his pursuit without being called in, despite the fact that to have a Highway Patrol SUV in traffic you have to actually mod your game to put it there.  If you don't want cops in traffic joining in, don't mod your game to have cops in traffic!

The pursuit AI for chasing suspects in vehicles uses the same underlying GTA V AI that it has since the first version of LSPDFR - this isn't likely to ever change.  I have experimented with many, many different ways of doing it and what we have is honestly the best approach I've found so far.  The only problem with the current system is that other officers don't recognise the player as being part of their pursuits.  There's currently nothing that we can do to change this.  The key thing is that our current system delivers competitive police AI that can actually keep up with suspects.  Go ahead and compare to GTA IV...

The pursuit AI in 0.3 can't be "any worse", as it hasn't changed at its core.  The main changes have been additional features that we've added, and these have only made it better.  It's fine to nitpick all the things that happen that you don't like, but at the same time people really need to remember that this is a heavily locked down game, with zero documentation as to how things work.  We have to figure that out all by ourselves, and that has taken thousands of hours to do.

It sometimes amazes me the lack of respect that people can have for what we do, and the massive improvements that we've made since the first release of LSPDFR.

just wanted to take the time to thank you and all of the lspdfr team you guys have done an awesome job and sorry for the few people who act entitled to this mod and make us look bad as a community ...i am truley amazed at how much you have done considering how locked down this game is ..thanks for all the long hours of hard work but remember most of us appreciate everything the lspdfr team and community shares with us im having a blast with 0.3

I turned off all the lock features of MoreControlV. I'm pretty sure it isn't needed, and does something else that makes your car unattractive to thieves, as my police car has never been stolen while using it.

Seems someone has beaten me to putting improved AI out! This one isn't for RPH though so if people would like it on RPH I'll see what I can do.

@Sam @LMSthey've also published the source code if you check the description. Would be great if something similar could make it to the next lspdfr version.

Does anyone think that peds stealing your patrol car while you are on a traffic stop happens more now than before?  I had it happen a few times these past two days and I don't play all that long.  They just speed off and your car is blipped, but there isn't much you can do about it besides spawn another car and chase after them, or forget that it ever happened.

It had never happened to me after upgrading to 0.3, but today when I went on patrol, 5 people tried to carjack my squad car on the same stop. And now it seems to happen at least once per stop...don't know if there's a way that can be fixed.

So apparently it is random and has no direct relation to 0.3?  It didn't happen before and all of a sudden it is happening quite frequently.

Although the locked doors thing does help.

Why is the GTA game system trying to "clean up the world" when your car is blipped on your map?  It should only attempt to clean up the world by having peds carjack vehicles that are unattended and not being blipped as your vehicle that is last driven.

The only time I noticed this issue before is if I entered another vehicle besides my patrol car.  Then this car became the last driven vehicle and the patrol car was no longer blipped on the map.

I've never even seen a carjacking in GTA5, let alone because of LSPDFR. You guys must have mods and scripts installed that causes it.

Just plugins associated with LSPDFR, mostly all callouts, arrest manager, traffic policer, keep calm, more control, police radio......

Please stay on topic here, this isn't related to the pursuit AI anymore.
