  • Oh dear, you don't know much do you? A RageHook plugin was literally released yesterday at 16:00 yesterday, the authors don't take long at all to create a new RageHook plugin. And it's not "fucking im

You gotta be fucking kidding? What If I just delete the new DLC files? There are two of them located in update rpf, one under dlcpacks, the other under dlcpatch and both are named mpluxe2. If I deleted that would it run? And how would I stop it from trying to automatically update?

It depends on your version of GTA V.  I have the Amazon digital download, which has Always Online DRM, meaning the game cannot be played while offline.  Doing some quick Google research, it seems that most people say the Steam version, and all other versions of GTA V also have Always Online DRM.  A few people say it is possible to downgrade, but there doesn't seem to be any proof of this.

Since every GTA update patches the EXE, and the game cannot be played offline, it would seem that it is impossible to downgrade the game, and we have to wait for every single plugin that we use to be updated.

Welcome to Always Online DRM.  Once you pay $60.00 for a game, you do not own it.  You are temporarily renting it for as long as the company keeps the servers going.  Pretty soon you'll see game companies banning people from Single Player modes.

We saw what happened to SimCity because of this.  But game devs are going to push ahead with using DRM anyway, because they can make more money.  Rockstar Games, EA and all the other companies doing this can go get hit by a bus.

It's possible to "downgrade", but only if you back up your game.

In reality all you need to copy is the update folder, GTAV.exe and GTAVLauncher.exe

Then you let Steam or whatever update the game and copy the old files back in.

Great. I made backups of everything except the .exe things. Holy fuck I fucking hate this shit. So now im screwed and just lost 100s of mods that took me weeks to get installed. Even with the mod folder its fucked.

That is always true. You don't buy the game, you buy a license to use the game according to the terms set fourth by the developers. You accepted those terms when you bought the game.

Also, I understand it's frustrating to not being able to play, but we gave fair warnings everywhere that an update was coming, both on Twitter, Facebook and Status Updates here on LCPDFR.com. There's no need for the excessive foul language.

Relax, I get it's frustrating, I've never been online so all updates bring nothing for me. If I did, I'd be really grateful to Rockstar for creating new content to keep the game interesting. It's a really cool update, and most likely 80% of GTA V players will use it, if not playing LSPDFR for a few days is a problem you may want to re-evaluate your life. The backup function is available, and provided by the RageHook plug-in, next time I suggest you use it.

Another question,I noticed the size of the new update.rpf file is bigger than the previous one.Using a mod folder,if I want to run the singleplayer in the latest version with all the mods I am using can I use the old update.rpf(after the new releases of Rage Plugin Hook and Script Hook) ?

Edited by GoldMeteora

For the moment I'm sticking to the old update.rpf and RPH 0.25. All the plugins work perfectly right now so I'm not screwing that for some guns and car parts. I think we'll have to wait for LSPDFR 0.3 release for all the popular plugins to work with the latest RPH, as few plugin authors update their mods with each new RPH.

Unfortunately not. What I did was I made a copy of all the files in update.rpf that I've modified, copy pasted the new update.rpf into the mods folder, then copied the modified files in the old update.rpf over the new ones. The game starts like a charm.

Well obviously it's fucking impossible to "back up" anything with this game since as soon as you start it it will automatically update. And you CAN NOT play AT ALL unless you are connected to the internet. Even using the mod folder method, I'm still screwed since somehow it effects those files too. There should be a single player only version of GTA free from this childish online shit. Now everyone who modded their game has two options: reinstall the entire game and play the boring vanilla version, or wait god knows how long for the PRH and Scripthook to be updated, and even then you STILL have to reinstall all of your mods.

There are ways to block the updating. For some reason, I never had to block it, it just never re-updates for me. And no, you should not need to reinstall all of your mods if you have any. Only maybe a .meta with an update vehicle file. It's no big deal.

I use to store most of my custom cars in mpchristmas2. However, when I tried to copy that folder for the new update, the game crashed. I started installing vehicles one by one. I heard there was a limit to the number of vehicles you could add. Might be lower now with the new lowrider cars.
