Just a note to everyone who is leaving negative reviews of V, IV and MP3—or everything R*/T2.
You forgot something:

Izhevsk reacted to Steele1925 in Boycott OnlineI've been begging people not to support anything Online with GTA since 2014. Sadly, it seems they cannot help themselves.

Izhevsk got a reaction from Steele1925 in Boycott OnlineShare this video with anyone you know. Tell them of the OpenIV situation. Get people to abandon the entire cancerous online platform altogether.
(I made this video last year to make fun of R*s horrible servers, but I think its good propaganda nonetheless.)

Izhevsk got a reaction from ToastinYou in Showcasing broken modsCurrently the first mod you see on the front page of the site being showcased is "Realism Dispatch Enhanced". This mod is completely broken (as of April 25th) and hasn't been updated in 4 months, with no word from the creator.
I don't think it makes this site look very good to be showcasing broken/abandoned mods.

Izhevsk got a reaction from LtRob in rockstar is anti-moddingI would seriously beg to differ. I can't think of any other game where updates are forced on you and consequently break all mods every time as a result. If they really "supported" mods as they claim then this would not be a recurring issue. Two or three times maybe, but every single time is unacceptable. Fact of the matter is, if the guys that make RPH and Scripthook didn't release new versions alongside these updates, that would be it, and Rockstar would get their way. Fact is they HATE things like LSPDFR, for example, because it takes attention away from their big cash cow: GTAO.
I don't have the patience to re-do all my mods every time they cram unwanted DLC down our throats. This last update was the 4th and last time for me. Combine that and the fact that the backup/downgrade feature on RPH has never worked, I'm done with GTA 5. I couldn't even enjoy playing LSPDFR for more than a week or so because these updates ruin everything. Until someone finds a way to crack the code or whatever, and completely disable the Social club update thingy, so we can play offline, it's not worth it.

Izhevsk reacted to OneHandedBandit in RAGEhook revert fixI blocked everything in my firewall that was gta, and it still wants to downlod the update. What do i need to do?
-
Izhevsk got a reaction from sjain in GTA 5 Dead :(A simple choice to skip updates would have been nice. Thats all.

Izhevsk got a reaction from sjain in GTA 5 Dead :(Sorry N4Cer, but like I said the backup feature of RPH will not work, so even if you put those old files in your game, the GTA V launcher will still force you to update automatically. This is due to the "always online" feature hardcoded into the PC version. Even blocking with your firewall will not work. Unplugging your internet will cause the launcher to freak out and demand you sign in.
Its like this:
You make a backup of your GTA with RPH
A GTA update is released by cockstar
You update, start RPH, and it tells you that the version isn't supported
You revert to an old version, start RPH, and then the GTA Launcher takes over and forces the update again. Rinse, wash, repeat.
Anyway, FUCK GTA, I'm gonna go play ARMA 3, unlike Rockstar, Bohemia cares about the modding community.

Izhevsk got a reaction from ESU in RAGEhook revert fixEDIT: It reverts to 573 like it says, THEN the Rockstar launcher takes over and forces you to re-download the goddamn update, and we're back to square 1................

Izhevsk reacted to Denny in HOW TO: Avoid Rockstar UpdatesI am utterly sick of gaming these days. You cant even launch a game without being connected to the internet. Heaven forbid I ACCIDENTALLY launch my game connected to the internet, rockstar forces me to redownload the "update" from their servers which doesnt fucking work! I have to take my PC to a friends house so he can download grand theft auto from steam and mesh them together with my CD version just so I can play the game again because Rockstar has incompetent servers. PLUS I lose each and every mod I have. If I had known gaming has come to this I wouldn't have invested thousands of dollars in a new computer. I suppose the days of installing a game and being able to play it are gone.

Izhevsk got a reaction from Original Light in It's a good day for GTA:O Players - It's not so good for us..First, let me say I fucking despise what GTA Online has done to this series. With that said, you shouldn't have to worry. I've checked through the files, and it just added two files named "mpluxe2" under dlcpacks and dlcpatch. So all of our cop car and gun and sound effect and all those types of mods should be fine. The only existing thing in the game that was modified seems to be one of the strippers and Dave Norton. But thats all I got out of a quick 15 minute check. I may have missed something. I'm still very new to the wat GTA Vs files are organized, I really do miss the simplicity of modding GTA IV...

Izhevsk got a reaction from LSPDhotstuff in Riot shield modWell, weapons in game are actually solid objects with their own geometry, meaning, they will stop bullets. Back in GTA IV you could shoot weapons out of the hands of AI. So, my theory is, if you were to replace one of the useless melee weapons with this model (broken bottle comes to mind), give it the correct positions, it would actually work as intended. Stopping bullets, maybe even melee attacks from peds. I don't know if you could animate your character to attack with it, he might just use the lunging stab motion which would look weird. Either way, it's worth looking into.
