BogdanM got a reaction from riquebr in Check out ELS for V!Your fault for having such a generic name. :))
I really hope with ELS V there will be some guides about when and where to use every light pattern. In GTA IV I always went with the one that looked the prettiest but I assume there is a reason to have multiple patterns.

BogdanM reacted to unr3al in ACtive shooter SAn BernadinoWhat will it accomplish, you ask? We need to be able to identify a disease before we work on a cure. The common misconception or cop out answer is that these people are simply crazy and nothing more. That's simply not true, it comes from their own theology specifically. Killing Isis troops won't accomplish anything because this religion contains 1.5 billion people. There will be infinite reinforcements as such. Attacking people will do no good. We need to have the rest of the world confront the ideology head on and then empower moderate Muslims who do wish to reform the faith for the 21st century by giving them whatever resources they need. Money, books, internet access, and open denunciation of supposed allies such as Saudi Arabia. If we are to go back to the medical analogy I started with at the beginning of this reply; we are currently treating the symptoms, not the cause.

BogdanM reacted to unr3al in ACtive shooter SAn BernadinoThe FBI and CIA have been and still are tracking plenty of people, but unfortunately these two were not among them. Despite how irritating these attacks are, the best way I can spin it is this: There's a great quote from the movie 'The Recruit', which is about a new recruit to the CIA (Collin Ferrel and Al Pacino, go see it, great film). Pacino's character says of the CIA: "Our failures are known, but our successes are not."
I'm quite confident that for every successful Islamic inspired terror attack on U.S. soil, our government has likely foiled tens if not hundreds hundreds of others. There's not much the average citizen or the police could have done to better prepare for this situation anyway. We can't all walk around in flak jackets and carry our own assault rifles 24/7 and report people with brown skin for being reclusive. That's no way to live life. Unfortunately, our "white privilege" phobia teaches a lot of us to ignore things we probably shouldn't, such as the U.P.S. driver for that neighborhood not reporting a strange amount of packages being delivered to the suspects house for fear of infringing on someones privacy, or the neighbors for not reporting suspicious activity for fear of appearing bigoted, or the suspects relatives and friends trying to cover up their concern for the suspects will to strictly keep to themselves. The director of the F.B.I. is encouraging Americans to report things like this now, and to not be afraid of appearing racist. And he's right. Ultimately people need to be able to point out problems with behavior regardless of skin color. These events certainly aren't limited to one ethnic or religious group.
Today in Boston, somebody planted a backpack next to a homeland security SUV parked outside a federal building and walked away. The Boston Police had to shut down a section of the city for hours, and then detonate the backpack after picking it up with a robot. The guy who did it turned out to be a local criminal, Caucasian, well known to police, and he was arrested at gun point in Lawrence, further north later in the evening. Luckily it was a hoax bomb. Nobody knows why he did it as of yet. But as was the case with the Christian Planned Parenthood gunman the other week; being a sh*t head transcends all races colors and creeds.
My biggest problem with the U.S. and perhaps even the entire western world right now is that we're not taking terrorism committed in the name of religion seriously enough, which unfortunately is predominantly influenced or committed by the Muslim parts of the world. The theology at play here needs to be discussed honestly, without fear of appearing racist. None of the problems we face today are going to be solved until that happens.

@jackct
I very well know the feeling, 2015 is the first time in the last 5-6 years when I can play a game on high/highest settings the year it is released.

BogdanM reacted to PursuingDeath in I have my new PC, and it is amazingMy computer finally arrived (specs in sig.) and it runs like a champ.
Maximum EyeCandy V6, maximum graphics, car mods galore, LCPDFR 1.1 (Of course) and with VSync on holding a beautiful 55 FPS.
While I'm at school, JC3 and GTA 5 is downloading for when I get home. I'll advise on it when I do.
Keep in mind my last PC was a AMD A6-3600 and a GT 610. I've never experienced true PC gaming like this.

BogdanM reacted to unr3al in Turkey Shoots Down Russian JetHe's not really doing either of those two last things you mentioned. He's doing what the U.S.A. has been doing for years; attempting to keep the "right people" in power to keep the most "productive" relationship possible.

BogdanM got a reaction from unr3al in Turkey Shoots Down Russian JetI actually meant the opposite, that other NATO countries didn't do the same thing under similar circumstances, that Turkey's response was disproportionate to the level of threat. I don't believe Turkey only wanted to put a stop to Russian airspace violations, that's only a pretext. I think Turkey caused this incident to disrupt the cooperation between Russia and NATO in the area while portraying themselves as victims of Russian aggression. That's the only play that makes sense to me which actually could have made up for all the repercussions that followed and helped Turkey's interests if it have played out their way.
Erdogan is practically a dictator in a democratic country, he will do whatever it takes to stay in power, including siding with the enemy to keep the Kurds in check. His actions keep sabotaging the collective effort to stop ISIS, he is clearly not on board with Western agenda. If his "friend" is the biggest enemy of the Western world, that's more reason for me to believe that the motives behind this incident are far more sinister.
To me every life is important, that's why I chose a career in the medical field. And no offense but veteran pilots are not expendable, they are one of the country's most valuable assets and their death being facilitated by a friendly/neutral country is not irrelevant. There is no war between Russia and Turkey so lethal action is almost never warranted in these scenarios.
As a conclusion, was Turkey withing its rights to shoot the plane down, yes. Do I think Turkey had ulterior motives for shooting down the plane and it had nothing do to with standing up to the Russian bear, absolutely!

BogdanM got a reaction from Lee10 in Active Shooter- Colorado Springs Shopping Center-4 Cops Hit+RIP+ to the police officer and the two civilians and my condoleances to their families.
Good quote Ranger61, we are living in a time where people who feel betrayed by society often resort to violence to express their discontent. It feels like the human race is getting dumber, resorting to primitive behavior to speak up. Of course only a very small percentage is guilty of this, but they still manage to terrorize the rest of the world. I often wonder what kind of damage (beside the emotional one) is caused with these senseless killings, what if one of the victims could have become or gave birth to the next Albert Einstein.

To paraphrase Dr. Martin L. King, "It reveals our society is still sick enough to express dissent through murder. We have not learned to disagree without being violently disagreeable." While we do not know the exact motives behind these murders, violence against America's Planned Parenthood Program is well documented.
This can not, and is not, the answer. Viciously killing anyone is to be condemned. We have a system for resolving disputes non-violently. And while we may not always be satisfied with the process and the results, mass murder certainly isn't the answer.

BogdanM got a reaction from unr3al in Turkey Shoots Down Russian JetI agree with this statement 100%. ISIS should have been stopped in it's tracks long before it got any momentum, but the Syrian Rebels preferred to do nothing when ISIS was focused on Iraq and now there's no militia capable of stopping them. Without foreign aid, the FSA would not last long fighting on two fronts and the SAA is in such bad shape that it would crumble against the ferocity of the Daesh. I don't see any sort of resolution to this conflict until ISIS is dealt with and that's only going to happen if NATO or a few of the major powers in the region engage them in full scale war. It seems like the most savage group ends up getting the power and not the one that fights for the right reasons. People are always more driven by hate than by justice.

BogdanM got a reaction from DLM3 in Terror Attack in Paris, France, 18 confirmed dead.I'd say the ISI takes the crown, there's nothing worse than playing ball with the enemy... off-topic I know.
There are probably hundreds of individuals in France flagged as potential threats based on their internet activity, known associates or their trips abroad. If they don't indicate any sort of terrorist activity, there is no reason to keep them under close surveillance, there isn't enough money or manpower to watch all of them. The Charlie Hebdo shooters didn't attract any attention for years before the attack. Doing surveillance or even house searches without any grounds would mean violating the rights they enjoyed as French citizens.
I've read it on another forum but it fits the subject. Carlo Schmid said: "It's not part of the concept of democracy that it creates the preconditions of its own destruction, we should also have the courage to be intolerant towards those who wish to use a democratic system in order to kill it off."
He said it in a different context but the general idea still applies, those who wish us harm should not benefit from rights and liberties as the rest of us. F*ck your freedom of expression if you support the idea of having my head on a stick.

-
BogdanM got a reaction from Dylan02 in Why do creaters,designers,modders...Your analogy is wrong, walking is a motor skill while being able to assimilate information and put it into practice is a cognitive skill. Babies don't want to learn to walk and nor do they understand the process of standing up and moving your legs to get somewhere, their brains are simply set after millions of years of evolution to make them want to stand up and try to move around. It takes practice to master but it's not a conscious learning process.
The rest of your post is pure garbage, you talk about how easy is to make textures (who said it was hard?) and that trying things out in ZModeler isn't the proper way to learn modding (which is what I said) while you've never done any of that. If you wait on other people to create free shit for you to play with, you don't get to bitch about not being up to your standards. I really don't see the point of this topic beside proving what a self entitled prick you are.

BogdanM reacted toDeactivated Memberin [WIP] Vapid Sadler Workmate (Civillian, LSPD Rescue, FDLS, Lifeguard)Hello everyone!!
I am really proud to present my first MODEL for GTA V! I am extremely new to Zmodeler 3, but it about 30 minutes I have produced this! It has a LOT of things to do before it can be released, but I think I will be able to complete it fairly quickly. Here are some in game screenshots:
https://i.gyazo.com/17f01dfc10aef9d421b19ba92a8b4641.jpg
I plan on making an LSPD Rescue, FDLS, Lifeguard and civillian versions of this car. If you want to see more variants, let me know.
Constructive criticism is welcome, but please remember this is my first ever model for GTA V, and i've only made 1 model for IV. (I am aware the wheels aren't centred, or the lights don't work).
Thanks :)
EDIT: The reason I chose to modify a stock vehicle is, I wanted something new. I really like the stock vehicles, there are so many things you can do with them because they are easy to work with, and you can chuck realism out the window when working with them. I was also inspired by Lundy's Rancher. It looks amazing, and I wanted to give it a go!
