Maybe it won't hit the PC hard in V. I don't know how the system works (I was thinking a script that permits a number of files located in the model to be played in some order). I don't have GTA IV, but its my understanding V is more optimized.

I like it but idk, I really don't have any issues with the in game lights at the moment.  In a way it almost sucks because now every car released will be for ELS.

Some of us want to use specific flash patterns, custom lightbars and to be able to use colors specific to our departments.

For example, the police in my state use all blue emergency lighting, fire and ambulance use red. That's essentially all we'd like ELS for. (or I at least)

I know.  I was just saying in a way it just sucks in a way since 90% of the cars released will end up being ELS only.

Was Reaqlly hoping ELS would come out for gta 5 :-D   ( do like hte feault lighting as well )   ELS also akes life a little more easy like switching between sirens using hazard lights etc

Most likely the same way they did with IV, sidestep the game's system and make their own using other methods.

more than likely. From what I understand the els for 4 kept refreshing the car, and as the car refreshed it would use a different extra each time to create a pattern.

That CVPI looked amazing.... especially with those lights

Nice vids ;) Tell me, how did you get the lights to flash blue?! When I try replacing the red leds with blue ones, they just flash purple...

hopefully GTA V Will finally be able to let us use the ta's (i.e. Traffic Advisior's) to their designed function like moving traffic Front lighting on moves traffic without siren (ELS 8.0 for GTAIV) just to name a few things. oh and PLENTY OF LIGHTING PATTERNS.

I'm using better LED and Coronas, the lights still flash a tad red but its not as noticable.

I might need to buy GTAIV and install ELS v8.5 or something. I have a solid system, and could probably play alot of IV without crashing (add just LCPDFR, a few cars, ELS and maybe a callout script or two. That way I can understand what developers might have in store for GTA V.

Right now, I would be happy with a mod that improved on the current system. Giving the overheads eight blocks instead of six, each with a rapid pulsing corona similar to the lights on unmarked police vehicles, without overlapping colors and I'd cut flips. Blue on blue lights is important too, (every LE department in my area use them) but could wait.

From what I read ELS IV offered a lot more than just flashing lights, but a system to control lights that was more realistic. I'm excited about ELS V, but also ignorant as to what it really offers based on the previous version.

 

What do you guy's think?

ELS for V is Currently in development by LT. Caine and BxBuggs123.
Issues with ELS to be noted in video: Doors don't seem to stay open which was a common issue in early GTA IV ELS versions.

Any news yet? Or is Lt.Caine still off the radar? It's been almost a month since he's been online.
