Is it possible to not have the light stages?

If you slam a book against someones head and it sounds hollow, it's not always the books fault, you know?

 

 

Oh and just so you don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult anybody. But are you really criticizing a mod, because YOU can't use it? 

 

Oh I can use it JUST fine. I just didn't want to put the time into doing so. I would rather just use ELS v5 because it's drag and drop ready.

I'm just not very tech savvy. I know, there's a guide, it's simple, bluh bluh.

 

What it all boils down to was it's an opinion. If you don't like it, ignore it.

CTRL+M.  If you can't get that far, you probably can't turn on the lights (J = Three modes, so hit J three times to run through the three modes).

Found the ability to create a Duel Siren effect through ELS 7

 

 

I got two problems with this mod 

 

First: Why do I have to press T to activate the siren I want it back default so I can use my siren with one button. How I do this?

This is for the lights

 

ELS 7 really kills my performance for some reason. Without it I can easily pull a comfortable 40-60fps on near enough max settings (draw distance and vehicle density scaled back a bit) but when I have ELS 7 on I constantly drop to below 20fps. This didn't happen with any previous versions of ELS and it seems even if I put my settings to minimum then the FPS still drops a lot with ELS 7 installed vs ELS 6. Does anyone know why that could be?

A word of the wise to those that have been experiencing instant Crashes-To-Desktop.  I have the Steam version of IV and was suffering the same problem.  Launching the game from the "Launch GTA IV" file in the root folder seems to fix things; guess you can't start the game from Steam with ELS V7 installed. 

 

With that said, ELS V7 is amazing.  I love the sheer personalization of it all.

 

 

EDIT: Never mind, still getting crashes to desktop.  Does anyone have a solution? - the game does not crash when ELS V7 is not installed and I have read the manual for ELS 7 numerous times to no avail.

Post up if you find a solution.  Not a game killer and I think ELS v7 is awesome!

Caine has released a small update to the ELS 7 package - it now includes a list of default controls and all vehicles are set to 'on' by default.

That's the problem; my game crashes before I can actually leave the Broker safehouse; approximately two to three seconds in.  Here's hoping we can find the source of the problem. :D

Now when the game starts loading it immediately crashes when I have the ELS 7 files but when I remove them the game goes back to normal, I guess I use ELS 6 again :/

That is precisely what occurs in my game.  It will go through the loading screens perfectly fine, though it will only last about two seconds in-game before it crashes.  The problem does not occur when ELS V7 files are taken out of the root directory, and the game ran flawlessly with ELS V6.

 

Is there any further information that I could provide to elaborate on the problem?

What people having problems could try is only installing the ELS folder, ELS.asi, and ELS.ini (and the visual settings in the common folder if you want to), and NOT dsound.dll or ScriptHook.dll. That's what I did (I'm using the dsound and ScriptHook provided by the LCPDFR installation) and it works perfectly fine.

Just curious, are you guys using GTAIV or EFLC?  GTAIV may not be as stable as EFLC and ELSv7.

 

EDIT:  Just noticed you said "Broker Safehouse", so you're using GTAIV.  I'm using EFLC, wonder if GTAIV is having the crashing issues that I keep seeing on these boards.  I really don't have huge crashing issue with EFLC and ELSv7...like I said, every other game or less is crashing and usually within 10-minutes or so after leaving Northwood safehouse.  Upon startup after the crash, I can play for a few hours.
