I'm uncertain whether or not my PC will be able to run GTA V, even with some upgrades I'll have by then. To add to that, console is much better for multiplayer (in my opinion) but PC is the best for editing scripts and modding.

Just thought I'd throw it out there. I like PC and console equally.

  • ^^ But how can you buy it if it doesn't come to the PC? :D

  • We don't know, to be honest.  I can see them dropping GTA V PC, simply because they're too lazy to make a proper PC version. Considering how bad the PC version of GTA IV was on it's release (1.0.0.0;

  • If it's not on PC, I'm not getting it - I don't care about how great it looks, or how good the gameplay is. Even though I have a PS3, I never use it for gaming, I use it for a media center.

Even if they say that it will be on PC, I will still get it for my Xbox because I like to play the game as fast as I can and I like to play it without any mods. I also have friends that have it pre-ordered.

I'll do what I did with GTA IV. Buy it for console, play it to death. When I eventually get bored of the console version, I gamble and buy the PC version (Fingers cross it works) and play that endlessly. I doubt laptops will be able to handle GTA V anyway.

. The real question is why are they making it for the xbox 360? Most xbox users went to PS3 let me list why.

PS3 has a better Processer, better video, doesn't cost money to play online. More games are coming out for PS3 than xbox now. More options on it ect...

Any who they would lose money in anyway if they didn't make it for PC.....

LOL more people are going to PS3, i find that hard to believe seeing as how xbox just sold a butt load of xboxes this black Friday.

all the things you mention are either opinionated or just not true.

better processor, better video- that's a lie, in terms of smoothness xbox beats a ps3, but not by anything noticeable really unless your a detail freak.

people have already excepted having to pay for online, it come with the superb online experience they give you.

more game are coming out for ps3 is just ludacris, but so you say so.

but ontopic i would say i will be getting it for xbox this time around and i'll have to buy a new xbox since my old was stolen from me.

No PS3 vs 360 shit here guys, that is why the Wii exists, to uinify the hatred of all console fanboys against one steaming pile of a console.

Back on topic, I will not be buying it on console. I refuse to support a company that does not give a fuck about it's customers. GTA IV on PC is a "fuck it that'll do" attitude to development that should not be encoraged.

You are using the WRONG right theme!

I wouldn't.

First of all, I have a Wii (go ahead and laugh),

and I only play GTA for LCPDFR. The only time I play the storyline is when I am tired of the old safehouse.

I don't think PC makes them any money (hardly) cause console version has everything a PC Gamer would have to install manually, though most definetely buying both.

I aggree with slimory here. though many people will be disappointed.

We don't know, to be honest.

I can see them dropping GTA V PC, simply because they're too lazy to make a proper PC version. Considering how bad the PC version of GTA IV was on it's release (1.0.0.0; 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0) and how the PC gamers reacted to it (refusing to buy - which is completely right) - it might very well be R* says "fuck it". It's a ton of work porting a game from console to PC and R* might decide that it's not worth the effort for the PC gamers. (Which makes me very sad, since PC gaming is far from dead - disregarding what all the console kiddies say)

Oh yeah and slimory: GTA IV PC made R* good money after they put out some patches, don't start throwing around with arguments you can't support. And that argument of "on PC you have to install everything manually" is the typical console kiddie argument, together with "you need a 238976237567238451624$ PC to play videogames". Why should I give a shit about installing something once, if in return I can have

- Better graphics

- Mods

- I don't have to pop a CD in every time I wanna play

- Free Online Gaming

As I said, that argument only applies to 12 y/os, who have to borrow daddies work computer to play and have no clue of it.

I have already pre-purchased the game here in Norway, even tho the game has no releasedate.. so now i have to pray alot :)

I have to agree there, although I live in Australia. Basically you can only wait and see. I have a pre-ordered PC version of the game, and If I can't get that, I will take my receipt in and ask for a console version for Xbox since there are no PS3's in my house!!!

It will come out on PC.  Modding has kept GTA:SA and GTA:IV alive well past their intended life spans, it has even made GTA:SA one of the best sellers (if I recall correctly) due to people purchasing it for modifications like SA:MP.  A lot of people purchase GTA:IV just for the likes of LCPD:FR.  I don't think Rockstar are stupid, someone will have realised the modding community increases and continues demand for their games.  (I still don't understand why they don't make their games - especially GTA - openly and easily moddable though. Perhaps it's because GTA is primarily developed for consoles.)

To answer the original question, like most people I have GTA:IV on PS3 and PC; I will do the same with GTA:V if necessary.

I don't think PC makes them any money (hardly) cause console version has everything a PC Gamer would have to install manually, though most definetely buying both.

This is partially true.  Game companies make more money on consoles than PC, partially due to the fact that a large number of PC gamers pirate games sadly, so why would a company cater to a crowd that is just gonna steal from them?

Theres also the fact that the technical gap between consoles and PC is getting so large, that it is hard to make a game for both that looks good on both.  With the PS3, this is even more difficult because producers are having a hard time getting Xbox games to run on the PS3.

I hope that GTA V comes out on the PC, but I'm not sure that it will.  I really hope that R* releases them at the same time if they release for all three, and I hope that they don't convert from a console version to a PC version like with GTA IV.  GTA IV was coded terribly on the PC and as much fun as it is, it runs so much better on the 360 due to this.

I game on both the 360 and the PC and while each has their benefits, I will be buying GTA V on the Xbox first, even if it is released on both, however I will eventually buy it on both if available.

As for a release date, I'm betting May, and randomly guessing May 17.
