Jeez man, it's just a friendly question the poor lad asked.

  • They take into account other units already on scene better and don't smash into them as much.  Note the relatively neatly arranged NOOSE insurgents. Yes, you will be able to specify a ped model to use

Can you elaborate more on this, Sam ? Do you mean that they will be more tactical at their responses to your callouts ?

What is seventh backup ?

Paramedics. The six backup types currently in LSPDFR are local and state patrol, local and NOOSE SWAT, and local and NOOSE air (if I had to guess, I'd say the fighter jet screenshot was using the Lazer or Hydra in the NOOSE air slot). 0.3 will also have a paramedic option, which will actually *save* people.

GTA paramedics? SAVING people?!

what is this madness

This will get me back to messing with LSPDFR (along with the supposed performance fixes R* finally got around to).

This sort of dispatching script really needs a standalone version that can replace the normal game's Wanted dispatching because of the limitations it suffers. Having both counties with distinct units along with LS, plus a wider selection of SWAT capable vehicles other than just FBI2 and Sheriff2, and better control over certain aspects would be a great improvement over what we can do now.

This is really stretching it, and I don't expect this, but would it be possible to pick which vehicles are at each police station? I know you said its possible to pick vehicles for the different jurisdictions.

Bumping my question. Sam, Could you clarify how we can actually specify what vehicles/peds show up for each jurisdiction (los santos county, los santos, blaine county)?

We won't get to actually pick which police cars are stationed at each police station, right? (that would be cool though)

No, you just get to choose what units LSPDFR dispatches for backup requests.

This is pretty awesome. I do have a question as to if you're considering adding the ability to customize the frequency of a responding unit from the pool of units for a particular backup type?  For example, if I want Highway Patrol bikes to respond 25% of the time and some other unit to spawn 75% of the time, or... for unmarked units to spawn and respond 10% of the time within Los Santos, etc.  It'd be nice to be able to do in order to have both variety and realistic proportions of units within an agency.

Because of the way the XML is parsed, you can do this quite easily.  E.g. if you had:

<vehicle livery="1">police3</vehicle>

<vehicle livery="2">police3</vehicle>

<vehicle>police2</vehicle>

This would mean that police3 (the interceptor) would have a 2/3 chance of being dispatched, with police2 (the buffalo) having a 1/3 chance of being dispatched.  Furthermore, with the livery settings there, police2 would spawn with a random livery (as no option is specified), whereas police3 would always spawn with either livery 1 or livery 2.

I know the first thing I'm doing with 0.3.

I'd do that with the Interceptor, but not with  LSPDFR. There's backup customization, yanno? :P

Hmm..k. I guess I was confused about the additional stuff you said about being able to customize it specifically for Blaine County, Los Santos, Los Santos County.

Yes, so if you call a unit in Blaine County you can make it so a different set of vehicles and peds respond compared to calling the same unit in LS County, LS or NY.

If I ever change my units to be trashmasters, you're taking Ineseri's place in the back.

Can't wait, Could you guys build in a speed radar into the mod?

-Set max speed

-over max speed it blips and you get like a dispatch for speeder and you have to pull them over and ticket them

Check out my latest mods!

LIFE GETS BETTER THE MORE LIGHTS YOU ADD

Wait. LS county and Blane County. What are they covering? is LS county the hole area outside LS City and Blane is the area around the lake? So State LS County and Local Blane County. Considering if i want HIghway police spawn only on the highway

Will this system work if LSPD:FR is in the background and you are playing normal as criminal.

Thanks for the great update:smile:

Is there also maybe someway (beside the mod) that we can control how many vehicles there are in LS, LSC, and BC?

I sort of see these backup options as essentially giving the player control like a police chief would have, or some administrator, so being able to control in general how many total vehicles there would be in LS, LSC, BC..seems sort of natual.

I'll probably be donating anyway, but if you guys can add this..donation secured!

That gives me an idea... perhaps a suggestion for a future update:

In addition to livery customization, I wonder if the XML could be extended to control vehicle extras...

For example, the Buffalo S w/ Edge lightbar that (like many cars) has the lightbar as an extra. It would be cool to set, for example, patrol backup to have the lightbar, while SWAT can show up in a slicktop.
