  1. EvilJackCarver's post in I keep getting log files problems when intalling els8.5 was marked as the answer
To use ELS, you need ELS-enabled vehicles. Vanilla vehicles are incompatible, literally the only thing that will happen is the lightbar and rambar will start to flicker in and out of existence.

It's his timecyc.dat file he included.

In your vehicle's ELS config, set the PRML type to rota.

    [ PRML ] Type = rotaLike so.

Crank up your car.defaultlight.emissive.on value (don't go overboard!)

Turn the vehicles off in the _SLOTCONTROL.INI file that aren't ELS.

Turn down your vehicle deform multiplier in your handling.dat. I don't remember which digit this is, though, but I know that it is what's doing that (merely because I did an experiment where I cranked it up to 100 and recorded the results)

You will need to modify your LCPDFR.INI file and insert the API key under the relevant area.

By "no glow around it", do you mean it looks like this?

If so, open up your .../common/data/visualsettings.dat and find this:

car.defaultlight.emissive.on 10.00 (note: number may vary)
Crank that up as high as you want it.

Just know that if you crank it up too high (see spoiler) it will affect taxi signs as well.

That's intended behaviour, I'm used to - in vehicles such as the NOOSE, NSTOCK, and FBI - pressing it once to get into LSTG3. If you prefer pressing J thrice to get it, it you can set the activation to default, like so:

LstgActivationType = defaultHowever, one thing intrigues me... You mind turning on your siren and recording it? I have a feeling I know what's going on. Edit: Didn't see the above reply.
You're using the non-ELS model with ELS. Try using the other WFT.
  10. EvilJackCarver's post in Force ELS not working was marked as the answer
Set the pattern IDs for the different light stages to what you want them to be.

    Example:

    [ SECL ] Type = drct DisableAtLstg3 = off ForcePatForLstg = on PatId_Lstg1 = 7 PatId_Lstg2 = 7 PatId_Lstg3 = 7
