It's probably worth mentioning that the cops put their hands on their gun holster when threatened, usually if the player walks close to a cop. Do you think this animation could be utilized in the future? I think it would be pretty neat just as extra eye candy, before actually drawing your weapon. Just for realism. And the fact that you actually take the gun from your holster now (so to speak) sounds pretty cool

In addition, when doing traffic stops and walking up to the driver's window, you character could do that animation in case the driver draws a gun.

  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

I have already found and tested this animation - it is pretty cool indeed and you can bet that it will feature.

Yea some of the reaction times and animations for weapon draws are pretty kool and detailed.  I can't wait for OpenIV to rip this thing apart, if they haven't already been a few days since I've checked.

They're running into a few problems apparently.  Guessing animation names isn't much fun.

I know I asked twice already, but will there be a animation to use the flashlight in the car or maybe walk with the flashlight, I think this is the last time am asking so sorry.

They most likely don't know which is why you haven't gotten a answer.  Sam said a few posts up that they are literally guessing the animation names... god thats gotta suck.

This is why I've slowed down / stopped coding for GTA V - with ScriptHookV you've got to reload the game every time, I cannot get this hook to reload anything without a restart of the game...  With the current .NET wrapper out - its rather limited also... ;(

Greetings.

I'm very much looking forward to LSPDFR , i am holding off buying GTA5 untill a version (be it release or beta) of LSPDFR is out.

I do however have 1 question that isn't exacly about LSPDFR but GTA5's AI.

You know how , in GTA 4 , if you stood still in a vehicle for a set amount of time (10 sec? +/- ) pedestrians would think you're parked and try to drive past you , often breaking the law or damaging property in doing so. So my question is , does this also happen in GTA 5 ? Thanks, and good luck with the mod , will keep a close eye on updates.

ok, about backup & how its going to work, being that the backup system in GTAIV LCPD:FR sucked (no offense but either backup never arrived or it didnt help).

Backup would be a good idea hotkeyed, i a list of multiple different backup types.

1: Squad Car - A police cruiser filled with 1 to 2 officers with pistols, one of which shoots out the window, helpful for chases & small situations.

2: Stinger Strikes - A police burrito with a spike strip layed out for a roadblock set ahead of your direction, with 1 to 3 officers with SMGs.

3: Police Overwatch - Dispatches a Police Maverick to your location to help with escaping range targets or shootouts, armed with sniper rifles & parachutes.

4: Squad Granger - A police SUV filled with 2 to 4 high ranked officers with SMGs or AP Pistols, skilled drivers & shoot while chasing.

5: NOOSE Support - A police riot filled with 4 to 6 NOOSE enforcers armed with carbine rifles or assault shotguns. great for shootouts and heavy robberies (like responding to heists).

6: NOOSE Air Support - A buzzard attack chopper flies out to your location with a pilot & copilot/gunner, miniguns & rockets are useful for heavily armed robberies & heavy shootouts.

7: Marine Support - sends a Crusader filled with Marines armed with Combat MGs and rarely RPGs, good for super heavy rare callouts (like responding to rare heist like callouts)

And a few Callout ideas, to make it seem like the stale demestic violence & suicide arent the only things to respond to.

1: High Speed Chases - Chases led by cars like Cheetahs, Entity XFs, or Vaccas, while also being super hard to get pulled over.
2: Medium or Heavily Armed Robberies - Yes Responding to Heist led by NPCs, wether its Small Stores or Major Banks, you will need to be prepared.
3: Smuggler Escapees - Drug or Gun Smugglers trying to get across the map, vehicles would be heavy, like Insurgents, Duke o Deaths, or even Cargobobs or Vestras.

& Please add it to where we can see Police Buffalos, Police Steiners, Unmarked Steiners, Unmarked Buffalos, Unmarked Grangers, Etc. around the map naturaly, like the Police Intercepter & Sherriff Steiner. i dont think the rare police car thing is unrealistic.

We won't be adding any military involvement.  At this stage, the most powerful backup option I've thought of so far might look something like the FIB's equivalent of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team.

Is noose still going to be a thing? Personally I'd rather call in an actual noose truck than the ones hanging onto the car, that's an easy ticket to death for them, along with an aggressive suspect or busy traffic. would FIB be considered stronger than NOOSE?

I agree with this, sorry but it's kind of true, they were pretty bad compared to what can hopefully be worked with now. I know its an early stage of development but I also noticed that you haven't added any types of blips yet, I'm sure you guys have time to figure all that out (which you probably already have, you guys work fast :whistling:)

well i just finished the Paleto Bay Score mission earlier so i thought of that.

the NOOSE operates under the FIB in-game similar to SWAT operate under FBI. normally id say Riots spawn very little unless your in a heli or jet which is dumb since cops think roadblocks are a good defense againsed a fighter jet. i dont consider FIB Vehicles "FIB" vehicles, they're more like unmarked SUV & unmarked Baffalo, since there were only like 2 missions where FIB agents used them & they are equal to Sherriff SUV which is the same vehicle but "marked" FIB Buffalo is like an unmarked Police Buffalo & Unmarked Cruiser is a Police Steiner with FIB Buffalo properties. but we need more backup options & a hotkey for backups would be a load better, i like my idea of backups considering how its the mirrored version of what regular cops do when u get wanted levels.

To piggy back on backup options, it would be cool to see a QAM with back up options, although not sure how easy it would be.

Maybe in the finer stages (after initial release) helicopter roles could be more specialized like LAPD's Air Support division.  You would be able to respond to calls, assess scenes, and attend pursuits.

I have a suggestion as well. Maybe also with future version comes the many different operational bureaus that the LAPD uses to classify their many divisions and maybe as officers role into a different operations burea a different dispatcher takes over

Join California Department of Public Safety and become a part of the most realistic California policing experience in the GTA roleplay community.

When would be the next news on LSPDFR? We know there are already a lot of things to share

Yes, seems to happen in V as well.  If I sit at a stop light, the AI does the same thing they did in IV...try to go around instead of wait.

Doesn't happen for me that often.
