  • I can feel the bullshit in the air tonight, oh Lord!

  • Nothing is being cancelled. No need to believe everything you read on the internet. I think we're gonna have a good laugh at all the BS that surrounded this game before it came out.

I can completely see why they would cancel it. PC users are cheap and mostly pirate games.

That being said, development on the PC version is probably finished. It's my opinion that even if they decide to cancel the formal release, it will be leaked.

I can't actually read the source to see if this is real as the site has been hacked -- http://www.rantic.com/

Which leads me to question whether the original statement was a hack in the first place.

This has to be BS. There's no real reason to cancel, seeing as the game is basically complete and ready to ship atm, and they know they'd be pissing off a huge community who'd in all probability boycott future games from them. this is probably just an unfounded Clickbait story.

First of all, this source doesn't seem legitimate at all. Rantic basically appears to be a very small marketing company. Why would Rockstar trust such a small company in the first place? Then, even if they had a contract with Rockstar, do you really think these guys would ruin their reputation by leaking such information? That'd be suicidal, so not very likely.

Then, they've probably had enough time to thoroughly think about it, so it doesn't make much sense to decide to release the game on PC, announce it publicly at E3 and then say "Erm, we're sorry, but we've changed our minds."

"Hey guys, remember E3 when we said we'd give you a brand-spanking-new version of the game with HD graphics and a better framerate, in addition to all the current DLC in one convenient bundle? well, it turns out that our marketing people think we'd do better if we just made a 720p version for the new consoles, so sorry for the mix up!"

*silence*

*looks awkwardly at the floor*

I highly doubt that rockstar of all corporations Is wiling to let that much money go even if it is giving them problems. Its only normal for people to worry because of rockstar being silent but mainly just because rockstar in the past has not been so nice to gamers as a whole and have a strange tendency to hate pc gamers for some stupid reason.

Im sorry but i dont think its fair to pay for the same game twice, but i may buy it just for the online.

You can blame the authors of the "Hot Coffee" mod for that, it got Rockstar into a whole lot of trouble. To be fair to the modders though, Rockstar should of never included the source files in the game to begin with.

No one is forcing you to buy it. But if you're not gonna buy it, don't play it (or just play it on your console since you already own it). Thinking like that is exactly why developers are reluctant to release on PC and are restricting games with DRMs and whatnot.

I think its bs the article says we have been waiting for years GTA V hasn't even been out for  a year! Furthermore they reference another article that reports GTA V will be delayed for next gen although there has been no official word from rockstar on this, but this could be true because we all know rockstars track record of delays.

I dont see why they wouldnt release a pc version they already made a fortune off of the game and people are going to buy the next gen version as well so profitability wont be an issue. The only issue i could forsee is a technical one but the game already runs great on the old consoles so i dont see why their would be any problems porting it.

No rockstar fucked us on this one they said they didnt want to release on next gen because the old systems were perfectly capable. Yet here we are almost  a year after release and what are they doing??? Releasing to next gen and PC, so of course im going to want the improved version with better graphics, draw distances and gameplay improvements. If they would have released the PC version when they released the console version we wouldn't be in this situation. And yea i didnt have to buy it but i didnt want to wait over a year to play it on PC.

Hm, where did they say that? As far as I know, Rockstar is extremely careful with what they say and do.

I have to be really honest about this, it's not only their fault, everybody that ports from IV or any other gta game are probably frowned upon by rockstar or any other company. Tobehonest if i were a game company i wouldn't like that people take models from my game created by my coworkers being converted to other games. These models are not free!, they are created by an individual or team who gets payed to do the job.

In short terms it's like releasing an unlocked model, people who made it wouldn't like if somebody edits their model or converts it to another game. The only models this doesn't apply to are scratch made models since they were made for free.

That's why i've stopped releasing models from other games

I honestly think Rockstar or any other large company could care less what happens to their models once they're rolling around in their own money. It's when law suits start popping up that they start caring.

The only company I can think of off the top of my head that doesn't like (and acts upon) models being exported from their games is Bohemia Interactive.

I mean that they aren't created for free. And also i've seen mods for IV that read "created by blablabla" when it should say "vehicle by (game company) converted by blablabla." And lastly they can't like when people sell their models (i've seen several IV models and even a suburban/tahoe being on sale @ Turbosquid)

Just trying to say it from the game developers perspective, but maybe you've got a point...

Someone shared this on Twitter a few days ago so I'll say the same here:

Apparently, Rockstar recently announced GTA V for next-gen and PC will be delayed until 2015.

No, they didn't. The "source" they linked is an article about a rumor. Hardly a trustworthy article if they are using rumors as fact.
