I would like to see more realistic calls like police actually get like domestic violence calls or a reckless driver call or an assualt or rape or murder things that actually happen frequently and maybe the calls could be more involved not just pressing a button until your finger hurts.

Also maybe actually arresting people it feels like im a murderer all you do is kill people and thats not what being a cop is all about

I think its a step in the right direction and we are behind on alot of social issues. However i dont think it will really underscore the impact a degree has on finding gainful employment. Most jobs require at least a bachelors degree even for some entry level jobs. So i don't think paying for everyone to get their A.A degree is going to effect that. If you want that bachelors degree your gonna have to go through 2 more years of school and find a way to pay for it.

And keep in mind there will still be people that never go to College after High School or who start and never finish for whatever reason. I think it will really give some people a hand up who wouldn't be able to afford to go to College and hopefully they are successful and can find a way to pay to further their education.

This is a tragedy and the majority of Law Enforcement officers are great people and do incredible things on a daily basis but people and the media don't recognize that. Our society tends to focus on the negative and stereotype an entire group of people based off of perceptions.

I think this will open peoples eyes and they realize the hypocrisy of their cause.

Just like with any other illegal website Law Enforcement is just playing a virtual game of whack a mole. When one goes down another pops right back up. And this isnt their first time being raided so im sure they have contingency plans. I think its for the better from what i heard the site was going downhill.

In a perfect world that would be ideal. But its impossible for a parent to be everywhere their child is to prevent them from watching porn. So in my opinion the best thing you can do is talk to your child as soon as you discover they are watching porn so you can educate them about it. I recently discovered that my 12 year old nephew was trying to watch porn on his phone and i immediately told his parents so they were aware of the situation and could talk to him about it. I don't really have a problem with porn i watch it and i think its fair to say that most men do on a regular basis. It also doesnt bother me that my 12 year nephew watches porn because i know i did at that age and i think its perfectly normal to do so. However i do agree that children should be educated about it and not chastised for watching it. Now if you dont condone your child watching porn for whatever reason thats fine but just be aware that you cant be everywhere and your child is going to do whatever they want in the end. So i think its better to educate them about porn and hope for the best.

Im confused to what your argument is? I make a point and you state its invalid when it totally is if you going to say that a teenager watches porn and assumes that is how you have sex. Than its safe to assume that if a teenager plays GTA they will assume thats how you behave as a citizen. So what is the difference? They are both forms of entertainment so why cant they distinguish between what is wrong and right between the two?

    What points have you made?

Does porn objectify woman? Perhaps, but porn is completely voluntary and you are payed quite well for what you do. So if its so objectifying why do women do it? Furthermore women are objectified everyday every been to hooters, winghouse,or twinpeaks? Idk whats more objectifying doing porn or walking around half naked while a room full of drunk guys hit on you and try to touch you? So if our society constantly objectives woman why do they volunteer  for this type of treatment.

And the only point that matters is its entertainment! Kids learn about things alot sooner these days and i dont belive that when they watch porn they assume thats how sex should be. They are smarter and better than that.

I don't think that's necessarily true however, I've never experienced it first hand.

I could reply to all of your points, but all I'm really going to say is, you over think stuff. Everyone knows, sex is about love and compassion. Whether or not they follow that is up to them. I myself don't really care what people do, but I for one can't stand when people get too deep.

You obviously believe that porn is creating a generation of teenagers, expecting non realistic things from sex. That happened before porn. Most people watch porn, male and females, we know the difference between porn and real sex. You seem to believe a lot of what you read rather then know or find out through your own experience, you go off statistics, 'facts'  and quotes from the internet. You gave me an example of the YouTube video, here's some for you. I too could find many other articles, I could probably find many on why pedophilia is alright. In this post however, it does say that since porn has become widely available, the number of teenage sexual offenses has dropped.

I lost my virginity to my girlfriend after we had been going out for around a year and a half, I wasn't expecting reverse cowgirl then to finish off in her mouth. Yes, it was after porn, what's the significance of that.

Porn is just porn and only porn, it's not effecting people like so many seem to believe, of course some people will see it and try to re-enact it, doesn't mean all teenagers do.

I've grown quite tired of this argument. First off Rockstar should release their PC versions simultaneously, like every one else. And secondly they never should have released their next gen version at the same times the new consoles arrived. The game came out like 2 months before they launched. So why werent they working on a next gen version this whole time?

They release crappy PC ports because PC is an afterthought to them, after they have pumped us dry on their consoles they figure everyone will pirate the PC version so whats the point in putting effort into it.

And the worst part is Rockstar hasnt offered us any discount or anything on the next gen or PC version. All they give us is in game currency..how is that going to help me pay for the game???

Ubisoft doesnt do this and it works out just fine Watchdogs runs fine on the PC and they were nice enough to release the PC version the same time as the consoles.

I have no problem paying for games, because i support the developers. However Rockstar has completely thrown fan loyalty out the window on this one, and it has changed my view of their true intentions.

This exact situation happened at my middle school and the swat officer was cleared of any wrong doing. Everyone was outraged asking why didnt they shoot him in the arm or something, but if you know anything about Law Enforcement you are trained to shoot in the upper mass and to stop the threat not wound the threat and hope for the best. The parents of the student tried to sue but i dont think they won. Both of these events are tragic but unfortunately as a Law Enforcement officer you have to make life or death decisions in seconds and you dont have time to determine if the gun is real or if its even loaded.

Are the parents of this child and the community going to be outraged? Of course and that is understandable but you have to put yourself in the officers shoes. And anytime you bring any type of gun into a  public area you are just asking for this type of thing to happen so why did the kid do that in the first place???

Police Officers shouldn't have to tell the difference between BB guns and real guns, a good idea would be to NOT point the gun at the officer (whether real or fake), that's common sense. Whether you are a child or not.

I think it really just comes down to supervision and checks. I actually work in compliance so i understand the challenges of being the 'Police' in the room. Before i send something out or correct someone on something i usually confer with my colleagues to ensure im making the right call and im not coming off like a total asshole.

And unless you have like a moderators manual with policies and procedures for every type of situation a moderator may encounter there is no way to eliminate the disparity between different moderators actions.

Every moderator comes from a different background and has a different personality so they may have different tolerance levels for certain things and not for others. Thats just the way it works just like one cop may give you a ticket while another cop may just give you a warning.

Discretion is a double edged sword.

However i dont think the moderators here are out of control or anything i think this community has just really grown and people are creating alot of off topic topics that are controversial in nature and they can get out of hand. Thus moderators are forced to act but i think they have really given us alot of leeway in terms of what topics we can discuss such as this one.

I find this to be a very accurate statement.  There are some rules that just can't be made 100% clear - there will always be areas where the individual moderators will need to make their own decisions.  The decisions made aren't really "right" or "wrong" in many cases, because everyone has a differing opinion.  While I'm trying my best to rewrite the rules to be as clear as possible, there are some areas where there's only so much potential for improvement.

Also, it's worth keeping in mind that there are VERY few Community Team staff members compared to members (we have 8 community moderators, 2 advisors, and 1 Dutch moderator), and nearly every staff member is going through an education system of some sort.  Whether it's high school or college, we're all busy and many of us have full or part time jobs as well.  People expect miracles from a small team of very busy people, and it's quite sad (but entirely predictable as well).  We have a lot on our plate, and not much time to get things done.  Considering the fact that the member to moderator ratio is 18260:1, I'd say things are going well.  Would we be more efficient with 100 staff members?  Maybe.  Will that ever be the case? Doubtful.  We just have to make the best of what we have.  Considering the situation, we're doing quite well, but if we were all paid staff members that have been professionally trained then things would be unacceptable.  One problem is that people seem to think we're exactly that - paid professionals who spend our entire day here as a job.

There are always going to be people who dislike us (sometimes authority of any sort) and most of the time those people stay here without issue (the exception being when they ignore the rules and want to be banned).  Sadly, it's the small percentage of people like this that take it on themselves to spread any rumor they feel like spreading, and before you know it a large group of people gang up on us for really no reason.  As mentioned above by Ben, the most vocal members tend to be those who refuse to follow the rules, and then blame us for punishing them.  We get blamed for all sorts of stuff, and while some of it is certainly our fault, a lot of it is made up.  There are many times when someone walks in knowing only 10% of a situation, and then they make things up to fill the other 90% based on what they think happened.  If I had a dollar for every time it happened, I could have my tuition paid in full (and wouldn't need to have my internship!).  This isn't a problem that's unique to us though - it happens all the time in real life and is a perfectly normal part of the human condition (however obnoxious it may be).

In short, we've never once claimed to be a well oiled, professionally trained team.  We've always acknowledged that there's room for improvement, and that we will never be perfect.  We come on here as volunteers in our spare time, and will provide only the time that we think we can safely provide.  As Jay mentioned, if someone doesn't like this site, they can very easily pack up and go somewhere else.  We run the site the way we want to, and will not bend over backwards to appease those who want to make the site how they want it to be.

I also kinda see this as an officer safety issue because you are pinned between two cars and oncoming traffic cant really see your emergency lights because there is a car directly behind you obstructing the view.

I apologize i didn't elaborate further, i consider myself fairly liberal and i think that the US should really be more like Europe and the Government should do alot more for its  citizens. Such as free healthcare, Not this sad compromise we have termed Obama care.

And maybe at the first the party system seemed great when we only had like 2 parties but now we have like parties within parties and all these small parties such as Libertarians.

I don't believe the party system is working because like someone else said its all about money and who can kiss the most ass to get donations. So we really need to take the money out of politics, because its not about the individual its about the agenda of the biggest contributors to that persons campaign.

And if you don't want to sell your soul and pledge to the major parties, you don't even have a shot at getting in office.

So how are supposed to have an efficient Government when we have essentially two groups that are fighting each other at every step???? The Democrats want more government and the republicans want less to zilch.. and then there's everyone else...

I think that our society just doesn't care about politics or voting anymore.. and its a tragedy because we should be outraged at the actions of our elected representatives.

There was a time when you showed respect to the President of the United States no matter if you agree with his politics or not, but now even our representatives are allowed to openly bash and criticize the President with impunity. And that is just unacceptable.

And Obama wouldn't have to exercise his executive powers so much if our representatives wouldn't throw a tantrum and shut down the Government  just because they feel like it. This is why nothing gets done, they need to act like mature adults and do they job we elected them to do.

Obama's views are not radical, he has to compromise on everything because the Republican party has gone so far to the right....

We need to put these parties aside and come together as one United Nation, if not im afraid for what the future may hold.
