I can relate to your situation i made some mistakes when i was juvenile i was arrested twice but i was never convicted so i don't have a felony or misdemeanor record. However an arrest record for a felony does not look good to Law Enforcement recruiters and as other people have stated depending on where you live Law Enforcement can be very competitive. I completed the academy and spoke to several agencies and they told me i could apply but i would have to bring supporting documentation and explain the situation. I live in Florida and i spoke to a recruiter for FHP about it and he stated they get over 13,000 applications for troopers so they have more than enough candidates to choose from. Now being in Law Enforcement was always my dream as well so i can emphasize with you but i don't think you can or will be hired as a Law Enforcement officer anywhere in the United States. I know this is hard for you to accept but you just have to understand that and move on with your live. Its not over your still alive and free to do whatever you chose. I have taken a different career in the private sector which allows me to still do what i wanted to. I think you will find that Law Enforcement is not all that its cracked up to be and you find better opportunities in another field. Here is the Qualifications for Orlando Police Department. I think its a step in the right direction and we are behind on alot of social issues. However i dont think it will really underscore the impact a degree has on finding gainful employment. Most jobs require at least a bachelors degree even for some entry level jobs. So i don't think paying for everyone to get their A.A degree is going to effect that. If you want that bachelors degree your gonna have to go through 2 more years of school and find a way to pay for it. And keep in mind there will still be people that never go to College after High School or who start and never finish for whatever reason. I think it will really give some people a hand up who wouldn't be able to afford to go to College and hopefully they are successful and can find a way to pay to further their education.

Its interesting they have yet to announce the requirements when we are mere weeks from the release date. I hope they don't delay the release but i would rather they release a finished product. And while i have enjoyed GTA IV and LCPDFR its just too buggy and small i cant wait to explore GTA V on the PC and see what the modding community comes up with.

Well keep in mind its a dollar store so the employees are probably getting paid minimum wage and hate their life as it is so they probably didnt mind much when the kid starting trashing the place. But i think someone should have intervened, but it could be that the way our society is today they were afraid they would get arrested or sued for touching or restraining the kid. But it appears this kid has some issues besides a lack of parenting.

She was so dumb she really was. Why would you carry a loaded gun around with you and your four kids that is just asking for trouble. I know you may need to protect your self at some point in time but get some pepper spray or a taser alteast you and your kids can survive that. It is a tragedy but it was totally avoidable. What do you tell this kid when he grows up? You killed your mom when you were 2 but it was really her fault? People need to get it together.

I wished to be regular part time so i can work more and get better benefits. Lucky for me someone is quitting so ill get to be full time! Its funny how things happen sometimes. This is a tragedy and the majority of Law Enforcement officers are great people and do incredible things on a daily basis but people and the media don't recognize that. Our society tends to focus on the negative and stereotype an entire group of people based off of perceptions. I think this will open peoples eyes and they realize the hypocrisy of their cause. #policeofficerlivesmatter

Just like with any other illegal website Law Enforcement is just playing a virtual game of whack a mole. When one goes down another pops right back up. And this isnt their first time being raided so im sure they have contingency plans. I think its for the better from what i heard the site was going downhill.

In a perfect world that would be ideal. But its impossible for a parent to be everywhere their child is to prevent them from watching porn. So in my opinion the best thing you can do is talk to your child as soon as you discover they are watching porn so you can educate them about it. I recently discovered that my 12 year old nephew was trying to watch porn on his phone and i immediately told his parents so they were aware of the situation and could talk to him about it. I don't really have a problem with porn i watch it and i think its fair to say that most men do on a regular basis. It also doesnt bother me that my 12 year nephew watches porn because i know i did at that age and i think its perfectly normal to do so. However i do agree that children should be educated about it and not chastised for watching it. Now if you dont condone your child watching porn for whatever reason thats fine but just be aware that you cant be everywhere and your child is going to do whatever they want in the end. So i think its better to educate them about porn and hope for the best.

Im confused to what your argument is? I make a point and you state its invalid when it totally is if you going to say that a teenager watches porn and assumes that is how you have sex. Than its safe to assume that if a teenager plays GTA they will assume thats how you behave as a citizen. So what is the difference? They are both forms of entertainment so why cant they distinguish between what is wrong and right between the two? What points have you made? Does porn objectify woman? Perhaps, but porn is completely voluntary and you are payed quite well for what you do. So if its so objectifying why do women do it? Furthermore women are objectified everyday every been to hooters,winghouse,or twinpeaks? Idk whats more objectifying doing porn or walking around half naked while a room full of drunk guys hit on you and try to touch you? So if our society constantly objectives woman why do they volunteer for this type of treatment. And the only point that matters is its entertainment! Kids learn about things alot sooner these days and i dont belive that when they watch porn they assume thats how sex should be. They are smarter and better than that.

Yet again it comes back to parenting. If a teenager is learning about sex from porn than the real issue is a lack of parenting and education. And now a days children are taught sex ed in elementary school so how can you say that teenagers are just learning about sex by watching porn? And yet again Porn is not intended for teenagers so they assume their audience is mature enough to understand that porn is purely entertainment and that everyone involved is acting.

Your right Porn is entertainment and that is its sole purpose its not to turn every adolescent male into a rapist.(Although lifetime may disagree) Just like any other form of entertainment that depicts violence and sexual acts people will cry out that is eroding the moral fabric of our society blah blah blah. A perfect example is the GTA series it has long be criticized for its depiction of sex and violence but does this mean that every person who plays the game will turn into a career criminal that has sex with prostitutes??? Ive been playing the GTA series since i was 10 years old and i can assure you that ive never carjacked anyone or had sex with a prostitute. Now some people will say that this type of entertainment influences the susceptible minds of teenagers to commit these acts in real life but i don't believe that. The fact of the matter is these forms of entertainment are not intended for teenagers they are for adults so if your teenager is watching rape fantasy porn than that is on you not the porn industry. The same goes for violent video games if you dont want your 10 year old carjacking people and killing cops in video games than do your damn job and be a parent! Your argument really holds no water here and sounds more like a plot on Law and Order SVU which yet again is entertainment.
