The dog may not have bit the bystander, but it attempted to. If someone attempts to shoot at a cop, they would probably get shot anyways, as they should. Like I said, more people would be bad mouthing the NYPD if they let the guy die on the side of the sidewalk instead of shooting the dog, because to most the life of a dog is worth less than a persons. But let's put you there. How would you have handled the situation if you came across someone having a life threatening seizure being guarded by his dog, which was attacking anyone that came close. Would you wait half an hour or more for animal control to show up, while the owner could die waiting? How would you explain to that person's family that you let him die because his dog was in the way? What would you do if you saw the dog bite onto the pant leg of someone nearby? What would you do if the dog charged at you? Let it bite you? And don't claim I'm obsessed with cops, I'm one of the more anti-le people on the forum, and most that have seen my posts will attest to that. However, I can see why this is justified because I was chased by a german shephard when I was a little kid simply because I was getting the mail in its yard, and it scared the shit outta me. I still consider myself lucky I didn't get bit or even killed. Just because the dog thinks it's in the right doesn't mean that anyone trying to defend itself against it is wrong. Don't try to paint that as being anti-animals either, I have a dog myself.

Like I said before, I don't support cops when they are in the wrong, but I am willing to see their side if they are correct. It's one thing if a cop shot a dog on its property while the cop wasn't even supposed to be there. It's entirely different if a cop tried to approach an injured person and the dog charged at him. People would be even more furious if the cop let the person die because they wanted to wait for animal control (which in NY probably couldn't get there as fast as needed for EMS to help the person).

I believe that the species does exist, but I also believe that the species is far too intelligent and powerful to be shot or captured.

I want to make it clear that I never defend cops when they are in the wrong. However, I can see why the shooting is justified. For one thing, the owner should've kept control of the dog, and failed to do so when the dog bit the person on the sidewalk. I didn't even see a leash on it. The dog already bit someone, proving it was violent, and attempted to charge at a bystander and then at the cop. The only alternative I could've seen was tazing the dog or using a baton, but the dog would've probably been euthanized anyways because of the danger it has already shown. My only issue with this is that a civilian wouldn't of been able to legally shoot a charging dog most of the time (especially in NY), but the cop was able to. EDIT: I read more of the story. I take back some of what I said about the owner controlling the dog. However, I would rather see the dog shot than see someone die on the sidewalk because their dog prevented their help.

LCPD sniper teams can be found on the roofs of some buildings when you go on a rampage. I'm pretty sure they can be found near the courthouse in LC also.

You ask why we need guns, and the answer is in your last sentece, "hell, even the government misuses them." The reason why we cling to our guns so bitterly is because we didn't roll over and let our motherland give us our freedoms, we fought bitterly to a stalemate using those guns in the late 1700s. Not only were we told that our "right to bear arms shall not be infringed," the founders even wrote to eachother about the need for the citizens to have equal weaponry to that of an average infantryman to be able to overthrow a tyrannical government. The thing people fail to understand about guns in the US is that there are too many of them for a ban to work. We have too much of a gun culture, which did not exist in places where strict gun control was "successful." Anywhere in the US where strict gun control is put in effect, like California, New York City, Chicago or Washington, crime takes off because only the criminals there have guns, compared to suburbs in the Midwest where at least half the houses have a gun, with little crime. If there was an attempt to do as you said, removing all guns by force, that would launch a bitter civil war that would result in millions dead. Our military is having a tough time keeping a few thousand illiterate third worlders under control in Afghanistan, could you imagine the carnage that would come from 80 million gun owners with 270 million guns?

It's pretty hardcoded into the game for police to drive like that. It's gotten slightly better in the next version with options for during pursuits, but AI driving still sucks.

Not bad actually. My family is on good terms with a lot of area gun stores, and we got some stripped lowers for $139. We also purchased several PMAGs from another store for the pre-panic price (and more than their new limit). However, in one store we helped out at for about an hour the last 6 AR-15s were sold in the time we were there, and the last new AR-15 in my area was sold at the local distributor, but they still have dozens of used ones.
