Channel 7 News story on LSPDFR

Featured Replies

I am just one person who plays this mod and enjoys the community around it. I am not a mod author, yet alone a mod author that makes NSW/Australian mods. I feel angry that the people who makes these mods to roleplay as their own PD are being frowned upon. People do not play LSPDFR to run over cops or kill cops or basically do anything that is "questionable". Most people rolepay as a law enforcement officer and I would even say we are all pro-police. It sucks that they have twisted the story for what ever agenda they are trying to push.

Thank you Australian modders that produce the content for us to enjoy. I hope nothing actually comes of this. It must suck putting the effort into your work to be then shown to the public as the completed opposite of what you set out to do.

What was that part about the police officer being run over in 2001? Reenacting Need for Speed? That's a load of bull, there's NEVER been pedestrians, yet alone police officers, that you can run over i

  • Holy crap what a joke of a report... The funny thing is I reckon most of the people who play LSPDFR are some of the more pro-police individuals who are probably more sympathetic to the troubles office

I'd really like there to be a statement to correct 7News, especially on the "cop killing" part, but that's probably more of Sam and the collective Australian mod developer's and LSPDFR:Aus YT content creators place to do.

It's actually really trashy and careless journalism, had they have timed this right after some sort of incident where an officer had been injured or killed in the line of duty, this site and Australian dev's could've seen some real backlash..

Every country has its issues, Strya just has a shit cunt media that are more gulable then a 2 year old. I have spoken to cops about this in the past and they find it cool, if 7 news actually pulled the band aid of a little they would see that we all play this game / make odd for this game because we respect and have some intention of being a cop one day.

Hopefully this will wake most of you sheep up.Most news is PROPAGANDA.All around the world!

Most NEWS is PROPAGANDA

This directly affects me, and i've had NO contact from NSW Police, NSW Government or 7 News. I'm certain an investigation would have been completed before the article, as they're basically giving away all the information we need to delete stuff.

I've made my LSPDFR videos private temporarily for a couple of days. Once the public forget about this and are fed with more bullshit they'll be up again. The most i'll do is put a disclaimer in my descriptions. There is no law against modding, and the NSW Police logo is ok to use so long as you're not making any money from it.

I'm also probably gonna be making a reaction/explanation video on the whole thing.

At least for the clips I've identified as mine so far, in every case they used a very tiny out-of-context snipped - "killing cops" showing me encountering that lovely GTA melee kill bug trying to aim at an aggressive subject too close to my partner, and "extreme violence" as I taze a fleeing suspect. Considering I have several active NSWPF members who regularly tune into my streams, and regularly give shoutouts to all emergency service personnel, this biased bullshit article is really quite offensive.

On the plus side, I've had more views in the last 6 hours than in the previous 48, and thousands more people across the country now know that this wonderful mod exists. From the comments on the 7News FB post of the segment, almost everyone called it for the rubbish article it was, so thankfully the Aussie public aren't as sheeple as the media would like to think.

Yep, 7 News won't, but Media Watch is one of the most fearless journalism programs on TV, if there's something fish, they'll pursue it.

Well good thing i live in a free country big U.S.A and im doing nothing wrong so they can move on to the next story theirs nothing here to pursue

To be completely honest here I couldn't keep a straight face at all throughout the entire video. Even now just thinking about that news report makes me laugh. This is completely ridiculous and I don't see how anyone can take it seriously at all.

Probably the only thing that I can even remotely understand is with the skins. I can see how a department wouldn't like seeing it's design in a game and then being used by some moron YouTuber doing stupid stuff on a video, then being viewed by thousands of people worldwide. But even then, the fact that that's even a concern just demonstrates how stupid and gullible people actually are. They're afraid that some idiot is going to click to YouTube and believe that an LSPDFR video is a real life representation of the actual department.

Dumb as shit.

You mean the NSW police doesn't routinely shoot handcuffed suspects to save themselves the bother of driving the suspect to jail? And had it not been for that expert on the newscast, how ever could I have known life doesn't have a reset button?

I actually know of cops here in Queensland that play it, they've told me it lets out all their frustration from a day on the street!

WTF! how is this a hack? How many times do they have to say hack? Well in the past 24 hours we all have become underground hackers who use a blackmarket version of GTA 5. I nearly had an aneurysm watching this. This is becoming much more of a joke then anything now. GTA Generation I should say, playing this mod to pretend I am a police officer must make me anti police and want to shoot everyone I see on the street.

It is very obvious they have seen a police mod for the terrible violent franchies such as GTA and put 2 and 2 together and got 5612839. They have done no research what so ever, not even something simple like googling lspdfr or you tubing it to see everyone play it properly.

Read the Readme's and mod pages, don't be stupid.

I laughed as soon as I clicked the link. You made me spit up my drink, thanks man appreciate that a lot.

Whoever is responsible for the reporting is completely insane, and being ridiculous.

I love the reference to the developers as hackers.

"Anger this morning over a black-market version of the popular....So given that this is a hack..." So the LSPDFR is actually GTA 5 itself, just a black-market version of the game? Or is it a hack? Just shows how much they really know what they're talking about. They don't even seem to understand the basic concept of something called a modification. Even I understand and I'm not technologically inclined when it comes to coding and the like.

"Allows gamers to attack NSW police". Ummm.... you're working alongside the police. Isn't that the entire purpose of this mod to begin with? Am I missing something here?

"Officers are planning actions against the designers...." Actions such as what? Seems like a dry threat to me.

"I didn't know that Grand Theft Auto was still on the market...." LMAO

"This is the real problem police seem completely unable to do anything" No dick, you don't say. Maybe because no laws are actually being broken? Just a thought.

"These kind of video games could make young people anti-police" If anything, these mods have actually made me more pro-police.

The lady was literally blabbering about nothing throughout the entire video. All she really put out was that people play GTA  for hours isolated, this is just goofy.
