Anyone know what the <speed value="1.00000000"/> does?

Cheers

    I've made a carcols a while back that just seems to work really well on pretty much any car you throw it on. Here's a demo of it on my Kansas cars, no edits were done to the cars.  If a

Here's what I whipped up

It's a pretty generic flash pattern that should be able to fit most australian police cars. I'll hopefully be releasing it so anyone can use it on their own models

I've got a couple, but unfortunately they pretty much have to be customized per vehicle since the lighting setups won't be the same. I'll post them here though...

The OSHP one is a tiny bit buggy (it's not symmetrical on the edge of the lightbar) because I pulled a stupid, but I've been pretty happy with them. I'll probably refine them later and might put them up for general download.

My favorites are the one for BxBugs' charger and the one for the Taurus (IIRC it's F5544's). Some of them don't look great because the model creators did strange stuff with the sirens (because of the default light setups probably)

I'd be happy to create one for you if you let me know what you're looking for and the model. Since almost all the modelers have different setups, creating generic ones is a real pain

That's one of my concerns we need to make a vehicle standard for the lights.
so every siren applies to one sirensetting.

than every vehicle modder can use the same settings.

With the changes coming in RPH that LMS mentioned that'll be less of an issue, as it'll be possible to create a custom flash pattern for each vehicle.

Yeah I think that's a good idea, even if we can change them on the fly. It should make creating new patterns much easier, and it should make life easier for ELS-type mods.

This is, of course, coming as someone who's just a consumer, so I'm not demanding anything. But it sure would be nice :)

So then it should be possible to make the LAPD pattern when they bump down to code 2 when they arrive on scene

basically like this

[FRONT]

XXXXXXXXXX

[BACK]

XXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXX

That's not possible until the RPH updates are out. But once that happens, yeah that should be easy to do.

Has anybody figured out if there's a way to get a single siren to emit light in all directions?

This boat model only has coronas on the "front" of the lightbar, trying to get the environmental lighting to go all directions. Tried setting lightInnerConeAngle and lightOuterConeAngle to 360, tried setting the delta of one siren to 3.14, but that ended rotating the textures for the siren as well.

Looks pretty good other than the issue of not having environmental lighting in all directions.

How does one go about doing a double flash per side? Can't seem to get my head around it...

If you're looking for a flash pattern similar to mine in one of the videos, I've been using:

<sequencer value="2694881440"/>

on one side, and:

<sequencer value="168430090"/>

on the other. Combined with:

<sequencerBpm value="950"/>

For pattern speed.

Hope this helps.

I feel like it has something to do with this:

As mentioned, I tried altering the delta values, but the emmissive textures were then rotated and thus in the wrong place.

I've been trying to figure this out also. Its weird that there's huge gaps on the side of vehicles where none of the light is showing besides when the side of the lightbar is lit up. Playing with the cone angle helps but it does not go all the way around and there is this noticeable line on either side of the vehicle making it look stupid lol

I made a template for how siren1 (police/sheriff) is setup. This is how the sirens are setup in zmodeler so you can easily identify which sirens to change the sequences to get your desired patterns! I use it as a reference when Im making new patterns so maybe this will help others!

It is possible to add a carcols.meta file as part of a DLC package and avoid editing the main carcols.ymt entirely. This is excellent for ensuring compatibility between different modifications. My latest update to my sheriff pack now includes this feature. Please feel free to download and look at my files to see how it's done. I have also commented the file to allow other people to learn from it; all I ask is that you don't take my flash patterns and use them without giving proper credit.
