sloosecannon got a reaction from lttrbmb in [RELEASED!] San Andreas Record Data Access System - Real world access to your LSPDFR ped records!Hello LSPDFR community!
Today I'm announcing a new plugin/application that I'm hoping to release in the next few weeks. This is the San Andreas Record Data Access System - SARDAS for short. It's a Windows application you can run on a computer in real-life that will allow full access to ped/vehicle records, IN GAME!
Here are some screenshots of it in action:
Login screen
The database screen:
The database, after searching for a vehicle:
It automatically searches for the owner of a vehicle, much like Computer+ does with its vehicle records search.
In-game at launch:
The client app running on my Toughbook, while LSPDFR runs on my main PC!
This plugin will require a little bit of technical skill to run - namely, you'll need to be able to open the required ports in the firewall and figure out the IP address of your "server" machine. I'm also planning on integrating other mods, and additional features, similar to the callout management of Computer+.
In the future, I'd like to add the ability for mods to create windows and notifications on the client computer, making it truly act like a police "MDT".
I'll keep this thread updated as I progress, and I'll try to add what features I can.
Thanks for reading, and stay safe out there!
I've now released a RC (Release Candidate) version of the app here:
It's still in early stages, and may be buggy - don't blame me if it crashes your game!

sloosecannon reacted to Stealth22 in [WIP] Stealth Radar (FiveM)Stealth Radar™
Hey all,
So this script is still very much a prototype, but I've gotten it to a stage where I can show it off as a work in progress.
This is not a RAGE Plugin Hook or LSPDFR plugin, and cannot be used at all in an offline/LSPDFR environment. This is going to be my very first attempt at creating a script for the popular FiveM framework!
Stealth Radar will be a client script that gets installed on the server. To my knowledge, this cannot be installed and used from a client machine on any server. However, it will make a great addition to any police RP server!
Don't ask me when it's going to be released...it will be released when it's finished.
More info will be posted here as it becomes available!
Credits
I would like to take a moment to thank the following people:
- First and foremost, a huge shoutout goes to @sloosecannon, who has taken the time to show me the ropes behind the FiveM API, and has been gracious enough to help me test the script thus far!
- Of course, what project doesn't have @Albo1125 involved in it? Thanks, Albo, for taking the time to answer my newbie questions about FiveM!
- And last, but not least, @JFavignano, @Bayareabuggs, and @Polecat324, for being the inspiration behind this project!
Features
- Adds mobile and/or stationary radar to any law enforcement vehicle that the player is driving, provided the player is a LEO
- Radar shoots out the front and back of the vehicle, up to a range of 500 feet*
- Plugin can be enabled/disabled on a per-vehicle basis
- Notification will display the model and color of the target vehicle, the speed of the target, the distance from the player to the target, and whether the target is moving closer or further away
- Customizeable speed limit via key binds; if a vehicle is speeding, the player will get a more visible notification (speed shown in red, etc)
- Ability to 'lock' a vehicle's detected speed into the system, for reference use during the traffic stop
- Once a vehicle has been 'hit', the same vehicle will not trigger again for at least 60 seconds, unless a higher speed is recorded for that vehicle
* Disclaimer -- Police radar has a much higher range than this, depending on environmental and other conditions, but based on the Googling I did, is not normally used beyond 150m/500ft. This value may change in the future

sloosecannon reacted to BlackNoise in [WIP] CPR: ReloadedFirst of all, take it easy, man. There is no need to create such a hassle about this. As I explained above, I have seen a CPR mod (that offers only CPR from player to ped, no other callouts or so) a time ago. I saw that this individual removed support, so I 'Reloaded' the concept. I am trying my absolute best to make the animations and positions as best as possible.
The purpose of the mod is to add depth and realism to the game. Also, it adds something that I miss, performing CPR to a injured ped as a first responder.
I am very sorry, I did not know your plugin offer such functions as I offer in my plugin.
Before you start blaming me, both PNWParksFan and Darkmyre have allowed me to do this and I have their support.
I do not want to start anything here, but I think neither should you. I do not like you responding like this, and I totally disagree with you with recommending people not to download my plugin. I find it unprofessional and rather rude.
Thanks,
Daniel

sloosecannon reacted to PNWParksFan in [WIP] CPR: ReloadedThis is possibly the most ironic and hypocritical statement I have ever read on this site. Your big project, LSRD, is hardly a fresh idea... you're methodically copying features from the in-development EmergencyV, not to mention features from Better EMS and other mods. And let's think about some of the other plugins you've ripped off. Siren Mastery... which you copied the idea for and then released "coincidentally" during Albo's release livestream of his original Siren Mastery mod. And Alex's Emergency Strobes plugin, which you also copied. And probably other mods I've forgotten. You, of all people, have absolutely no right to talk about people coming up with "fresh ideas".

sloosecannon reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadThe very first option presented on that post is to donate directly via paypal through my website. The second option presented is to donate a 3D model to support the project. The third option presented is to support non-profit organizations whose missions I believe in. If you don't support those organizations, that's fine - there's no obligation to donate to them, even to participate in the Benefactor Program.
There is no political agenda here, and I have made good friends with many people through this site who have very different political opinions from myself. We respect each other, learn a bit about other people's lives and how others look at the world, and we share an enjoyment for modding GTA and emergency services. What we don't do is start fights in public forum threads. I politely request that you abstain from political discussions here. There are plenty of venues on the internet to argue with people about politics; this is not the place. As I said just a few hours ago...

sloosecannon reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadIt's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Release a mod early in its progress, and people complain that it doesn't have all the features they expected or that it has bugs. Release updates too often and people complain that you are just trying to get more downloads. Release a mod before it has a lot of variation in the callouts and people complain that it's boring. Wait until a mod is actually polished and release-ready and people complain that you're being greedy. Quite frankly, I'm tired of people who have never contributed a useful or complex mod in their life complaining and acting entitled like this. I will release my mod when I am happy with the level of polish. That's my decision to make. But since people seem to feel the need to attack the legitimacy of having an extended beta, let me share some additional information with you:
I have not yet finished making an automated installer for the DLC that comes with the mod. The installation process is very complex; most of my beta testers have had some sort of issues with the process, and I've had to give support to most of them. If I released the mod to the public now and had 1000s of users, there would be no end of complaints about how difficult it is to install. A limited beta controls the number of people who need to be helped. I don't feel comfortable releasing something with such a convoluted installation process to the public at large, both because it's unfair to users who expect a released mod to work properly, and because I don't have time to support the inevitable numbers of people who wouldn't be able to figure it out. I have released 25 updates to the beta since it started in January. I often release multiple updates in one day, in fast response to issues that beta testers have encountered or as I add new features. That kind of update frequency isn't compatible with a public release. I have methods in place to ensure that beta testers are updating frequently, but with released mods people a) don't like to update once they get a stable setup, and b) often don't notice that a new update is available on the site. Videos show the best parts of a new mod. People don't record the bugs, the hours of frustration trying to get something to install correctly, the features that aren't complete yet, the game crashes, etc. But none of that really matters anyways. I don't owe you or anyone else anything. Those of us who develop mods do so for our own enjoyment and enhancement of the game. Usually we choose to share those mods with others so they too can have that enjoyment, but it's our right to choose what to share, when, and with whom. If a developer feels their mod isn't yet complete enough to release, that's their right. I've noticed that the only people who complain about this are people who have never actually developed anything themselves, and simply expect the community to give them everything now, for free, working perfectly, with free support, etc. Honestly, if we wanted to, we could make all our mods only available to people who buy them. Many modding communities are like that! I'm proud of the collaborative spirit among lspdfr plugin developers, and I'm glad that mods have always been freely available to anyone who wants to enjoy them, once the mod is ready. I've said before, and I'll reaffirm now, Coastal Callouts will be freely available when I feel the mod is ready, because I want you to all be able to enjoy it. Just be patient.
I'd like to get back to the topic of actually discussing the mod that's under development, so if anybody else has any issues with the concept of people getting rewarded by mod authors for choosing to donate to support their work, feel free to send me a PM or post a separate discussion topic elsewhere. But please stop whining about it in my WIP thread. This has gone way too far off-topic, and frankly I have no interest in continuing to belabor the point with people who have no idea how much time and effort it takes to make a good modification.

This has since been picked up by other media outlets, as well as the gaming press. Obviously, this simply isn't the case, and you can read our statement regarding this matter below.

sloosecannon reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadAnnouncing the Coastal Callouts Beta!
I am very pleased to finally announce that Coastal Callouts is now in semi-public beta. To kick off the occasion, we have two new LSPDFR episodes from some of my favorite youtubers and fellow LSPDFR developers, @Darkmyre and @Albo1125. Please check out these videos to get a small preview of some of the features of Coastal Callouts! Rest assured this is just the beginning, there are several other callouts already in progress that are available to testers but not quite ready for videos, and many other features and callouts which are in progress and didn't make it into these two episodes.
Development of the mod is still ongoing, and it's not ready for release. In particular, I have yet to start working on an installer for the DLC, and I have numerous important features of the mod that are still incomplete or need significant improvement. However, it is at a point where it is stable enough and easy enough to use that I feel comfortable inviting more people to participate in the beta process. To keep the size of the testing team manageable, I have decided to make the beta available to people who have provided assistance in the development process, and to Parks Benefactors - people who have donated to support my mods. If you helped in the creation of this mod in some way, you should have already received an invitation via PM, and if you have already donated you should have received information about the Parks Benefactor program.
For those who have not yet joined, you can join the Parks Benefactor program at https://parksmods.com/donate/. Please take note that the lowest donation level, "parks supporter," does not include access to unreleased mods like Coastal Callouts, it only includes early access to updates to existing mods like Custom Backup and Better EMS. If you do chose to donate at the Parks Benefactor level or above, you will be granted beta access to all of my modifications, including Coastal Callouts and updates to all of my other plugins. Full details and terms & conditions are available on the web page above. Please make sure to accurately fill out your username on the donation form. After your donation is received, I will contact you via email or private message to invite you to the beta testing discord server, and get you set up to install and test the mod.
In addition to joining the Parks Benefactor program, you can also get access to the Coastal Callouts beta through any of the following:
Purchasing a 3D model that can be used with the Coastal Callouts DLC. Please PM me for information about what models are needed and which ones would be appropriate. Anybody who buys a model we need will get beta access, but you must confirm with me first to make sure somebody else hasn't already bought the model, and that it's suitable for conversion to GTA V. Make a donation of $50 or more to the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or JDRF. Please put PNWParksFan as the person you are donating on behalf of if the form has a place to specify. Then, PM me a screenshot of your donation receipt email, ensuring that the donation date, your email address, and the donation being on behalf of me are shown. If you currently or previously served in the US Coast Guard, and have some experience previously playing LSPDFR (e.g. you know how to install mods and are comfortable with basic LSPDFR gameplay) please send me a PM to be considered for beta participation. I will randomly choose one person who has liked this post by 11:59 PM US Pacific Time on Friday, February 10th to receive free beta access!
Thank you again to everybody who has helped this mod get to this point, and especially to everybody who has already joined the Parks Benefactor program. I am looking forward to getting feedback from this wider audience, and continuing to improve the mod until it's ready for general release!

sloosecannon got a reaction from jcpse in New Rugged Laptop ReviewI need a toughbook for programming radios, since they're one of the few laptops with modern-ish specs that come with an RS232/DB9 serial port. Stupid mobile radios are picky and won't even accept a USB-serial cable.

Plus I'm planning on having more functionality than just the records check. That's just version 1.0!

I'm going to retrofit the entire "PoliceScanner" audio folder in P25 Digital
And of course the best way to do that.... is to pipe it through an actual radio :)
Here's the setup I will be using: Two E.F. Johnson 5100 handhelds on a simplex channel - one will be transmitting the raw audio, the other will be recieving it and piping it back into the computer
I've attached a demo to this post - Hope you guys like it!

sloosecannon got a reaction from Ranger61 in [Research/WIP] Custom Light Patterns through carcols.ymtUse OpenIV. That model is pretty complex, but you can toggle the sirens using OpenIV to figure out which is which.
EDIT: So 65535 is definitely too big.
Trying 32767...
EDIT EDIT: So, the limit on the max sirensettings values is very strange. It's somewhere between 10000 and 32767.
So anything less than 10000 should work without problems.
-
sloosecannon got a reaction from Jakeus in [Research/WIP] Custom Light Patterns through carcols.ymtHmm, I've got a couple of those for various models. I should upload those...
-
I made a template for how siren1 (police/sheriff) is setup. This is how the sirens are setup in zmodeler so you can easily identify which sirens to change the sequences to get your desired patterns! I use it as a reference when Im making new patterns so maybe this will help others!
-
That's one of my concerns we need to make a vehicle standard for the lights.
so every siren applies to one sirensetting.
than every vehicle modder can use the same settings.
-
WHO CALLED IT!
Seriously though, very excited for this development, and looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
-
sloosecannon got a reaction from Skin Works in [Research/WIP] Custom Light Patterns through carcols.ymtI've got a couple, but unfortunately they pretty much have to be customized per vehicle since the lighting setups won't be the same. I'll post them here though...
http://pastebin.com/kp4Q8YPt
The OSHP one is a tiny bit buggy (it's not symmetrical on the edge of the lightbar) because I pulled a stupid, but I've been pretty happy with them. I'll probably refine them later and might put them up for general download.
My favorites are the one for BxBugs' charger and the one for the Taurus (IIRC it's F5544's). Some of them don't look great because the model creators did strange stuff with the sirens (because of the default light setups probably)
I'd be happy to create one for you if you let me know what you're looking for and the model. Since almost all the modelers have different setups, creating generic ones is a real pain
