  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

There are lots of mini-agencies in GTA V the US Coast Guard, the US Marine Navy Army mismash of god knows how much inaccuracy at Fort Zancudo. But besides all that one thing I've always wanted to do is provide air support for a chase and have a chance to direct that fucking spotlight or atleast have my co-pilot do it.

Bringing up co-pilot, will LSPDFR be Multiplayer compatible SP Only or MP Only... The feeling of being in a chase alone isnt as great as with friends all working together to catch the suspect.

From my perspective at this point, i could only assume they are working on a SP mod at the time as MP mods can get you banned. Nor do i think that eventually it will not be limited to either SP or MP as the previous was not. Again, this is only my opinion.

Will you look in to NYSP:FR? (North Yankton State Police)

Will you look in to NYSP:FR? (North Yankton State Police)

The map of North Yankton is too incomplete for that I think, but we do have a little bit of NYSP support already built in.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

What else has been found while looking into the intricacies of GTA V vs. GTA IV from a modding standpoint? Did Rockstar do anything big one way or another? Does the game's policing system have something GTA IV did not that can be worked into mods? It would seem to me that since you guys managed to turn around a mod so quickly, albeit unfinished, GTA V is much more stable and promising for this stuff than GTA IV.

Beat me to it.

I agree, could easily of been the trainer used to spawn body guards and follow.. Looks like a normal chase.. Thought maybe I would see an arrest animation or a traffic stop but hey

The more "animations" and things that get coded into mods into the game, the more buggy and broken it gets. With LCPDFR, the arrest system got better over time, but having to physically map out where a suspect stands and coronas for them to walk into caused problems, i.e. when cars and objects were in the way of walking paths, etc. The more things you try to mod and add in the more unstable it gets. Rockstar gave us a lot to work with, like road cones, spike strips, fast-roping noose teams--the more you can incorporate what is already in the game the better off the mod will be. Nobody's scripts will run more smoothly than Rockstar's.

As a game and a port, GTA V on PC is way more stable than GTA IV. With the trainer, I can teleport all over the map and all textures load within a couple seconds. In GTA IV if you teleported around the map, you would get texture loss and buildings popping in and out. GTA V is stable. Let's keep it that way.

Combat is pretty good, a lot better than IV.  You can easily spawn a lot more as well, the game is much more robust.  You can spawn things more than a block away without having to worry about crashes.

Driving is still terrible though.

The driving....finally someone understands!

Can we get a rough estimate of when the first version will be available for release? Not a full on release date, just a rough estimate.

There's really nothing we can say at this point, even for a rough estimate.  We'll do what we can do get something out as soon as we feel we're able to.

Really? The game has been out for 2 weeks. Jesus. People have no concept of hard work. Also, I can bet that Sam and the team can't get into the animation files yet, there's only one scene in the entire game that has someone getting arrested. The entire rest of the game has the police shoot to kill (and I'm not talking about one star, I've never seen your player get actually arrested before the game does its slow-mo BUSTED thing). I'd like to see some of these people complaining to do better scripting/coding in a week.

Also, I feel sorry for Sam because he's gotta read a shit ton of these comments. It will be ready when it's ready. Be patient.

Really? all i asked is for a rough estimate which they can not provide at this time. This is fine. Although i was just curious. I was not rushing him. I am not trying to. He can take as long as he wants. Just look at GTA V PC. Took a long ass time to arrive but it runs awesome. Asking for a rough estimate is different then asking for a release date. A rough estimate can be the span of a few months or something vague like that. Not a certain date.

I don't want to turn this into a quarrel so if you want to further up on my statement Ringo, please PM me.

The only reason why I'm annoyed is because there was already like 5 other people in this thread that asked the exact same question. If you read, you'll find your answer.

Okay, people are just excited. It's like building and waiting for PC parts or entering a really big giveaway, you wait and bite your nails. You just end up hoping, and you get that feeling in your stomach, making you feel all weird and want to know a bunch of things.

I'd rather not have them put out any time line, not have them feel rushed, and just surprise us.  That does 2 things in my opinoin, keeps the stress off of them to make a product in a given duration, and keeps the tension down on the community if somethings broken (to make a time line) and the hype to a minimum.

Don't know what I'm more excited for - RageHook in MAY!  Or LSPDFR! ... I think both!

Help my channel grow and I can explain to my wife why this addiction to coding is a good thing!

Just can't believe how fast that you guys are, Plus the good news that I have login for the very first time since the old version.

I understand, but unfortunately the cops in GTA V do not arrest AI suspects under any circumstances, even when using the designated AI arrest task.  They simply execute people - this is something we'll need to work around, and considering the animation RPFs for GTA V haven't been exposed yet, we really don't know what we're working with from an animation standpoint beside the few that we've found already.

Sincerely hope you'll find a way around. What about issuing tickets, are there any animations for that?

And maybe arm all them with tasers set to zero damage to stop them from killing if the perp is unarmed?

Can't say how really excited I am for this, it's a pity that 'some' people have to ask for a release date over and over again which is only going to put pressure on. I can see LSPDFR having more potential than LCPDFR had and I can see an excellent summer lying ahead of us because of this mod. Best of luck to the team=) I have one question regarding the mod, seen as there is no police computer built in to the game like there was in IV, would adding one in be possible?

Not a developer, but the LCPDFR Police Computer was made from scratch, the original in-game computer was never used (atleast not in the mod).
