We lost a Wisconsin State Trooper in the line of duty - EOW 3/24/2015

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately my stop back at the LCPD:FR isn't under the best of circumstances. Please keep this fallen Wisconsin State Trooper and his family in your prayers. Only about 3 months out of the academy he was fatally shot while contacting a bank robbery suspect here in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. Gunfire was exchanged with the suspect and Trooper Casper was fatally wounded. He was killed on his first day alone in the field.

There is a Facebook page in remembrance of him, please show support even if its just to "like" the page. The only thing I ask is that you be respectful if you post anything - https://www.facebook.com/TrooperCasper

There is also a go fund me page setup for his family if anyone is interested. Of course I'm not requesting that you donate but if you see fit its greatly appreciated. They are trying to raise $10,000 - http://www.gofundme.com/troopercasper

Trooper Casper your cleared 10-7, 10-42. End Of Watch 3/24/2015

Rest in peace. No words can truly express this loss.

I myself hope to become a State Trooper, but this always reminds me how dangerous the job really is, and that tragedies can happen to anyone. Evil shows no mercy. No matter how good of a person you are, how young you are, or how much potential and life you had ahead of you. Evil is blind. It doesn't matter who you are, you can't escape it.

May we never, ever forget about these poor souls that are lost in the line of duty.

It is sad that people do stupid things, and that poor guy.

A new guy. He had a family.

He had a life, he had a career.

But some stupid prick shot him. It's so sad.

May him rest in peace.

Very sad news. My condolences to the family and friends of this brave trooper.

I myself am a young LEO, not much older than him, so I know how proud he must have been to go out on patrol alone for the first time.

I salute him for standing his ground and exchanging fire with this low life piece of scum. He is a true example of honour and courage to all rookie LEO's.
This truly is a sad day for law enforcement..

I just read about this, and I cannot express how heartbroken I was when I read the story. Every death of a LEO or anyone for that matter is tragical but 21-years old and just finished the academy and his field training. Very sad.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and an even bigger THANK YOU to anyone who donated to the fund. In only 23 hours they surpassed their goal of $10,000. Then a goal of $20,000 was set and the current donations sit just over $25,000! The fundraiser goes until Sunday when the funeral starts, then they will be presenting the family with the funds.
