You're taught different techniques to wind a person as well to" take the fight out of them" those techniques usually entail using a series of body blows that to any other officer seem to be reasonable use of force which in N.Y. on the online booking sheet we would have to write that we used that force necessary to overcome the resistance. The average person sees that as police brutality although I have found by continuously yelling "stop resisting" for the most part we would get the crowd to start yelling at the perp to stop fighting. It's all in perception which, nowadays any hands on techniques used the public cries police brutality

The question you should ask yourself now is who doesn't use FPIU's. :D If you want to make them patrol, you can do what I just do (the lazy way) and just replace police, police2, or police3. Then add it on as a separate car. So they're seen on patrol (their interior usually turns out fine), and you can drive it yourself by spawning the addon car.

gatekeeper got a reaction from FCV96 in Two NYPD Officers Shot Responding To A Robbery
Guys let me explain to you what takes place during a job slow down in new york city as I myself was a part of and took place in one. First NYPD had s.o.p's in place that state you must follow all vehicle and traffic laws while on patrol,in order to stop those making moving violations this is counter productive and has been over looked to keep numbers up, hence the drop in summons numbers for moving violations. Parking tickets before you just write the ticket during a slow down you ask the driver to move his/her car. As for arrests during an every day patrol you see large groups of teens you stop and investigate what's going on and use the stop and frisk procedure to check them out, during a slow down you watch the individuals to make sure they are not breaking the law without approaching. So you are still doing your job just the mechanics of it have changed and you are sticking to the letter of the patrol guide. No crime is going overlooked just as I said the mechanics of it are changing slightly therefore arrests are down.So do not think for a minute that the job is not getting done it still is just your not going into the Grey areas of the patrol guide that let you run the red lights it order to catch the violator of a moving violation ,giving people more of a chance to move there cars and not hasseling every group of kids to"find"something to effect an arrest the city is still being protected, changing those mechanisms of how you do your job will just bring numbers down not make them non existent

There is one thing that is being overlooked here, when you have a man of his size pumped up on adrenalin it makes it extremely difficult to take him down, when the choke hold was applied in this case it was done in an effort to gain control of a large man resisting arrest. I myself have used the choke hold in order to gain control of a large perp.Do I think this guy was abused, no the officers used that force that is necessary to effect an arrest which in New York is totally legal and although the choke hold was banned by NYPD it was not a violation of the use of force.

As stated earlier while operating a bicycle you have to follow all vehicle and traffic laws why not DUI laws as well.

I completely agree that two people deserve to be together regardless of what gender, race or anything else -- and if you don't then you're ignorant.
However, it would be great if we didn't call it marriage. Marriage is histroically defined as a union between a male and a female. I don't believe in redefining words.

Yeah in hindsight I admit it wasn't the smartest thing to do but it was the only thing I could think of at the moment cause I couldn't get the guy off my friend and he had his arms pinned

I personally think he should have made more of an effort to grab her before deploying his tazer, you can see him Camly walking behind her at a slow pace, I know when I told somebody I was going to arrest them I didn't just walk non chalantly up to them. So I honestly think in this case he was wrong to deploy his tazer it was not used to prevent escape because a few more steps would have accomplished that

I watched the video several times so to come to an educated opinion. Now I was a field training officer and I would have hoped that if the trooper had been one of my trainees that they would operate under a reasonable assumption that if you give a person a command that that person will follow that command. This person did not exhibit any signs of hostility or aggression nor did he appear to want to do anything but comply with the troopers order to get his i.d.The trooper acted on fear not based on his training. He was completely wrong in this shooting and has been terminated and charged accordingly. I was really surprised to see his response especially ordering him to the ground while still firing at him

You can't speak of classic police cars without mentioning movies and scenes, of course. Case in point, the 1968 NYPD Plymouth Fury in The Seven-Ups (1973). [see 4:56]
