I use an Xbox Controller for walking and driving. It's way better than trying to drive with a keyboard.

  • Doing it old school with my mouse and keyboard..tbh the only reason for that is me beeing to lazy to set up the controls for my PS3 Controller lol

I use a controller/keyboard setup because I played IV/EFLC on the console before I played on the PC so it made the switch easier.

Currently a Wheel/Controller setup.

But, The controllers triggers seem to mess up while both are in use.

I use my steering wheel for one game and one game only... That's Euro Truck Simulator 2, yes i spent $350 on a Logitech G27 Racing wheel JUST for ETS2.

For GTA, i use my controller since it's a lot easier than using a steering wheel or mouse and keyboard.

I want to get one for ETS 2 & GTR Evolution (Race '07).

I'm wondering whether there's any steering wheels (preferably ones with gearbox & handbrakes) that go to a full 900°, but also have a setting to (restrict) turn to like regular wheels turn (is that 200°?).

If my post made you laugh (or giggle) in any way, smash that blue grey "Like this" button & like it

Logitech's Gaming Software (G25/27) can restrict wheel rotation, my racing (and rally) profiles are restricted to 200 degrees, OMSI and ETS is set to 900.

I have one of Logitech's basic steering wheels from like 6 years ago. I forget the model, but I know it is red. lol. I thought about using a wheel for GTA IV, but I just never set it up. I have used it for ETS2 though, quite fun. I'd love to buy one of those G25/G27 wheels, but they are expensive and I haven't any money. :(

I have a steering wheel but seems like it would be more suited for GTA V with its FP driving and such. Just use my Logitech DFP GT for my racing games. Seems pointless on the PC for GTA IV and others like Saints Row. I am just more comfortable with the keyboard and can access more keys more quickly. I have a PS3 controller but use it for PCSX2.

GTA doesn't recognize anything other than an XBox 360 controller for PC.

You will have to use one of those Mapping programs to emulate your wheel being an XBox 360, & replacing keys appropriately.  Others can give you suggests on good programs to use for this.

I have tried using a steering wheel for GTA IV. Unfortunately, every time I press a button on the steering wheel or keyboard, my car immediately starts turning left until I turn my steering wheel all the way to the right which, of course, makes my car veer to the right.

If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know.
