This thread is for organizing "right here, right now" LCPDFR Multiplayer games.

It'll be up to those playing to agree on rules and content used, as well as organizing it, this thread is not associated with any MP group that's currently active on the site.
It is not organized by LCPDFR staff. The creation of this thread happened after the issue was brought to light.

    A few tips:
You need a legal copy of the game in order to play MP
You need to use Dsound, and not Xliveless as ASI loader
It's a very bad idea to use "taxi bug fixes", they tend to spawn vehicles that only you can see
Using ELS and high poly cars may cause frequent crashes (as known from single player)
Using the LCPDFR.com official TeamSpeak (or any TS for that matter) is greatly encouraged, both MP groups utilizes TeamSpeak.
Using DAS (Dispatch Assistant System) is also greatly encouraged: http://gtapolicemods...?do=file&id=799.
As stated, those are tips, not rules or requirements, it's up to those who are playing to agree upon how the game is played.
We have two MP channels on TeamSpeak, if more than two games are set up, those who get there first will have the TS channels.

    Have fun playing.

I think it would be nice if the player was in control of the wanted levels, I.E. manually having to increase the level. I personally don't want pursuits with specialised units and all that stuff, I'm happy with normal police cars and a helicopter, anything else is unnecessary IMO.

He got greif because he didn't get along with GPM, they tend to be pretty bitchy towards those who doesn't like them.
He's been accused several times of stealing work from a certain content creator (won't mention any names, but it isn't that hard to figure out who), when in fact it has been the other way round.

The latest and most blatant example were Alec Durbins upload of Yakadafis unlocked CVPI model, he didn't even remove Yakadafis logo and such from the template files.
They since removed that version, and replaced it with one without Yakadafis logo.

No, "modders" are not supposed to stop "caring about their work", they're supposed to treat other users with respect. As you said, this issue has persisted for months, public accusations, attacks other users, it has been going on for months.
Yes, it took us a while to look at the issue beneath the surface, the "surface" issue was bad enough (the accusations in the gallery).

We're being accused publicly about not caring about the issue at hand and ignored the pleas that have been made as if we've deliberately done so. TThat the "modders" have done "nothing wrong", that they're the ones defending "what's right" by attacking other users.
Are we not supposed to explain our side of the issues, to show what has been going on. We didn't make this announcement because we wanted to sling mud, we've been pushed and pushed even after the announcement.

The hated is caused over gallery images, not mods that are uploaded to the site, but gallery images, that's what has caused all this. We're not desperate for anything apart from not having fights, accusations and drama every day over something as pointless as gallery images.

As I said more than a week ago, we are working on new rules that will reflect the change in the community since the current rules were made. Modding has increased its presence on here so the rules should reflect that. The new rules will make it far clearer what "theft" is and how it's enforced and possibly most importantly, how it's dealt with by both users and us. It will also make it far clearer that everyone has behave respectfully towards everyone else.

You say we've treated "modders" with no respect in this thread so why should anyone respect that part of the new rules or even the current rules?  As you said, this issue has persisted for months, we've lashed out after months of daily accusations, of sanction evasions, and after failed attempts to resolve this peacefully without making a big fuzz.  The "modders" wanted to take it public from the start so that's where we are now.

Yes, it is absolutely pointless to go on any more, there's nothing to add. There's two separate issues and both issues needs to be addressed which they are going to be.

NicolaiB got a reaction from Original Light in GTA V Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC
Whatever is causing these delay, at the latter stages of development, has to be more substantial than bug fixing or "polishing", they're buying more time to fix fundamental flaws within the PC version (it has to be PC related as GTA V was released more than a year ago on consoles) or they are concerned about their network infrastructure when it's released. I'm certain that Rockstar wouldn't want a PR fiasco due to their always-online DRM not working (which it won't).

Regardless. Rockstar has messed up big time, even if V launches without problems on PC. Their PR work has been unacceptable from the start, misleading customers about future versions prior to the game's initial release in '13, announcing the "good" versions for next-gen consoles (double-dip distribution) and announcing the "best" version for PC (triple-transaction tricks, wanting people to buy the game three times), then further delaying the PC version several times without giving any explanation as to why.

Consumer oriented business model it is not.

It's time for another short update.

    Current project:
I am currently working on a revised edition of the last project >I wrote about, there's nothing too exciting to show.

I have fixed a number of issues that was present on both model and skins. My testing has produced encouraging results so far, expect news in the latter part of week 6.

And now it's time for a spot of house keeping:

I have given up on my 2011-2014 Charger PP after attempting to work though a list of improvements, most of which turned out to be too time consuming or beyond my skill level.

However, I have not given up on making A 2011 Charger PP. I am in the (very) early stages of converting Forza 4's Charger SRT R/T into PP specification, as well as fully converting the model to GTA IV itself.
Progress has been encouraging so far. Most of my work has been spent on admin, that is splitting the model from Forza's structure into groups based on their function (doors, bodyshell, bonnet, boot, interior and so on).

It's too early to tell how it will turn out, the model requires enough plastic surgery to keep a Beverly Hills surgeon in business for the foreseeable future.

The front bumper and bonnet has to be completely remodelled, I hope to cannibalise my dead '11 Charger for those parts, fitting issues notwithstanding.
Likewise, the interior requires a bit of cannibalising. Forza's model has 2 different interiors, one interior is included along the exterior model, which I assume is used for third person driving given its fidelity (which is low). The other, higher fidelity, interior is designed for first person driving, redundant for GTA IV.

Using the former interior, the one designed for third person, does present itself with a couple of issues. The major issue being that the doors exist only as a texture.
I intend to use the interior part of the doors from my dead Charger. Though time will tell if it will work.

Lastly, I am also going to revise a number of lighting parts (lightbars and lightheads), I'll post when I have more information, I expect to release a couple of models as dev resources, though it depends on a number of factors.

The Charger will be a major project, a project I will work on while making mods using models that are, well, usable.

Huh, who'd have thought that the worlds' premier supplier of on-demand islamic fundementalism would announce plans to attack the west.
The poor chaps in Al Quaeda aren't playing on their own any more so these announcements are rather convenient. Some of their investors must certainly have noticed that ISIS has been putting in a good effort in their sharia crusade while ISAF slowly reduced their font-line commitment in preperation for the "handover" to the ANSF late last year, Afghanistan does not make for a good sales pitch for AQ's potential investor because it's getting more difficult to kill westerners and  Afghanistan itself has no value whatsover in the big picture.
Al Quaeda are always planning attacks against the west, it shouldn't be a surprise really. The US government has contingency plans for everything, including a possible invasion of Canda. I wonder if the media would report on that in the same way.

There's nothing newsworthy at all about this "story", the media will spin a story out of almost anything that will attact viewers, sell more papers or get more site views on the internet.

The witness statements aren't worth the paper they are written on, several witnesses have given contradicting statements, the "independent" autopsy (it's beyond my understanding how an autopsy can be independent when it is ordered by the suspect's family, though it does appear as being credible), also contradicts several different witness accounts. It also provides a lot of the facts that we do know.

The suspect was sought in connection to a robbery that had just occurred in the area, the initial (first stop) was not connected to this, but to the suspect blocking traffic on a road.
Both witnesses and the police have said that the suspect had an "altercation" inside a police car prior to the shooting, everybody also agrees that the suspect walked away from the police car before he was shot, we don't have a clear picture of what happened after he left the car.

What we do know is that the suspect was shot six times from the front (contradicting the witness reports of him being shot in the back and shot while putting his hands up), the bullets hit his arm, his torso and his head. The medical examiner concluded that the wounds could have occurred as the officer shot the suspect while he was surrendering (e.g. raising his arms), OR they could have occurred as a result of the officer shooting as the suspect charged at him.

Images of the crime scene has also been leaked onto the internet, I have been told  that the body is positioned in a way that are consistent with the suspect being shot while in forward motion, indicating that he was moving towards the officer, though it must be taken with a grain of salt as we don't know if ambulance staff had tended to the suspect at that point.

In short, it's still very much possible that the officer acted in accordance with his training, it is also possible that he didn't. We do not have the facts to make that judgement yet. Anything beyond accepting that it's uncertain is speculation.

What's also apparent is that the media is working the incident from a predetermined script, this was clear within hours of the shooting when various media outlets were reporting that the police had shot "an 18 year old kid", describing him as "a gentle giant according to the family", later on describing "riots in Ferguson", but calling those on the street "protesters", not rioters.

It's also without doubt that the media is deliberately fuelling the riots whenever possible, the phrase "police militarization" has been used countless times to vilify the police while neglecting to report the numerous times that shots had been fired at or near police officers during the riots (at night), as shown in a video posted earlier in the thread by c13. No reports were made on the night that where State Police was in control and banned the use of riot gear, resulting in police having to abandon the area after sustaining the highest number of officer injures yet. The media then called for more a "heavy-handed" approach to the riots, leaving thoughts of short-term memory loss and hypocrisy hanging in the air.

There are also reports of the media downplaying the severity and nature of the riots, going as far as ignoring racial abuse and violence directed from the crowd towards various white people, there has been reports of people shouting "kill all whites, kill all cops", a (white) Fox Detroit reporter was also assaulted with a traffic cone (yes, really) while attempting to conduct an interview with a local (black) man that tried to prevent the crowd from looting a shop. The man was accused of "cooperating with the whites", then threatened.

The bottom line is that only a few people know what actually happened, the police officer who shot and a handful of witnesses, the same witnesses whose statements were contradicted, indeed the media has been quiet about that, among other things.

I feel for the family of the suspect, they have been under intense pressure from the media since the first few hours after the shooting, they most of all need peace and time to come to terms with the loss. It is disgusting to see the media use these people as their prize trophy.

I also feel for the officer, knowing that your actions have not only resulted in the loss of a life, but being the target of local, national and worldwide media before they know the facts will without doubt be very troubling for him.

Unfortunately, anything that will come of official investigations will be worthless, the police has already been found guilty in the court of public opinion.
