What Is Your Opinion On Cop Haters?

Recommended Posts

Everytime i see a video of an officer being shot or injured in the line of duty, someone makes a comment saying "I hate pigs they deserve to die"

You know what? Officers put their life on the line everyday they suit up. Some officers abuse their power and think they are above the law, however those cops don't deserve to die either maybe just fired. So next time you say you hate the police, just remember one day you will be in trouble and when you need a cop....well i forgot you hate cops.

To quote one of my other posts on this matter:

There are Police Officers, and there are Pigs. Police Officers are respectable and do their job. Pigs abuse their power. There is a difference.

Speech by Joe Friday.

"It's awkward having a policeman around the house. Friends drop in, a man with a badge answers the door, the temperature drops 20 degrees.

You throw a party and that badge gets in the way. All of a sudden there isn't a straight man in the crowd. Everybody's a comedian. 'Don't drink too much,' somebody says, 'or the man with a badge'll run you in.' Or 'How's it going, Dick Tracy? How many jaywalkers did you pinch today?' And then there's always the one who wants to know how many apples you stole.

All at once you lost your first name. You're a cop, a flatfoot, a bull, a dick, John Law. You're the fuzz, the heat; you're poison, you're trouble, you're bad news. They call you everything, but never a policeman.

It's not much of a life, unless you don't mind missing a Dodger game because the hotshot phone rings. Unless you like working Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, at a job that doesn't pay overtime. Oh, the pay's adequate-- if you count pennies you can put your kid through college, but you better plan on seeing Europe on your television set.

And then there's your first night on the beat. When you try to arrest a drunken prostitute in a Main St. bar and she rips your new uniform to shreds. You'll buy another one-- out of your own pocket.

And you're going to rub elbows with the elite-- pimps, addicts, thieves, bums, winos, girls who can't keep an address and men who don't care. Liars, cheats, con men-- the class of Skid Row.

And the heartbreak-- underfed kids, beaten kids, molested kids, lost kids, crying kids, homeless kids, hit-and-run kids, broken-arm kids, broken-leg kids, broken-head kids, sick kids, dying kids, dead kids. The old people nobody wants-- the reliefers, the pensioners, t he ones who walk the street cold, and those who tried to keep warm and died in a $3 room with an unventilated gas heater. You'll walk your beat and try to pick up the pieces.

Do you have real adventure in your soul? You better have, because you're gonna do time in a prowl car. Oh, it's going to be a thrill a minute when you get an unknown-trouble call and hit a backyard at two in the morning, never knowing who you'll meet-- a kid with a knife, a pill-head with a gun, or two ex-cons with nothing to lose.

And you're going to have plenty of time to think. You'll draw duty in a lonely car, with nobody to talk to but your radio.

Four years in uniform and you'll have the ability, the experience and maybe the desire to be a detective. If you like to fly by the seat of your pants, this is where you belong. For every crime that's committed, you've got three million suspects to choose from. And most of the time, you'll have few facts and a lot of hunches. You'll run down leads that dead-end on you. You'll work all-night stakeouts that could last a week. You'll do leg work until you're sure you've talked to everybody in the state of California.

People who saw it happen - but really didn't. People who insist they did it - but really didn't. People who don't remember - those who try to forget. Those who tell the truth - those who lie. You'll run the files until your eyes ache.

And paperwork? Oh, you'll fill out a report when you're right, you'll fill out a report when you're wrong, you'll fill one out when you're not sure, you'll fill one out listing your leads, you'll fill one out when you have no leads, you'll fill out a report on the reports you've made! You'll write enough words in your lifetime to stock a library.

You'll learn to live with doubt, anxiety, frustration. Court decisions that tend to hinder rather than help you. Dorado, Morse, Escobedo, Cahan. You'll learn to live with the District Attorney, testifying in court, defense attorneys, prosecuting attorneys, judges, juries, witnesses. And sometimes you're not going to be happy with the outcome.

But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done. I know it, too, and I'm damn glad to be one of them.

My opinion is that they're amazing people.

they wake up, put on their uniform and leave for work.. knowing that at any time they could get killed. They do a job that hardly anybody could do, they risk their lives to save a strangers life.. and because of that i thank them for their honor and service to the city.

But.. the corrupted police officers can go burn in hell because they don't deserve a badge.

i don't care what happens, in the next couple years i'll be joining the police force.. whether or not i make it is a different matter.. but whatever the outcome is every good police officer will be a brother or sister in blue to me:)

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Police Officers are just like every other person on planet earth. Some are smart, some are stupid, some are nice, and some are mean. Just like everybody else, you have to work and/or cooperate with them to keep the day moving, whether you like it or not. When I get older, I want to go into law enforcement, just like my father and my brothers before me. I have my opinion, the cop haters have theirs. Everbody is entitled to their own opinion, cause its MURICA...Its all really simple, but it becomes a different story when those opinions cause dangerous situations.

My opinion on cop haters? Well good for them. They have an opinion and as long as they don't force it on other people, they're good people. If I hate cabbage but you love it, would that make you or I any less of a human being?

Isn't there like 100 topics about this already?

My opinion, most people that hate cops, watch too much television & think because what is on YouTube happens every single day & every single cop is like that, & 9/10 times cop haters have had run ins with the Police, "Yo I stole some bitches car & that cop chased me & tackled me so hard I farted out of my ear & I hate pigs now because I was caught breaking the law blah blah" people are so quick to comment on a job they know nothing about, keep in mind that's the career choices they made to put up with that stuff.

I guess topicstarter and others mean American cops and cophaters. But that exists in all other countries. Here, in Russia, cops are usually hated by the majority of people, and that's for reason.

Those who walk on the streets - they usually arrive from far regions, there people consider police salary in a big town a fortune. They work for money and they don'k like working too hard. They don't know laws and they don't care about them. Moreover, they have statistic. If there's a low crime rate in your area you may find out your complaint is listed as a false alarm. If there's a high crime rate and cops are required to bring in like 10 drunkards, 2 thieves and 1 hooker, be prepared to be arrested. Of course you can get a free lawyer and try to prove innocence in court. Guess what? Those lawyers which are provided for free, by the law, they like their job, 'cause state pays good whatever the outcome of the case is, and cops like convictions. So if you have no money and you took a free lawyer, he'll recommend you to plead guilty, then share his payment with the cops. Police salary is actually low - so they cover drug dealers, org crime, hookers, muggers, slavers.

My mom's friend once called police because of her neighbors being too loud at night. Cop showed up and told her to shut up or something bad might happen to her.

Detectives? Oh dear. In Russia where are police detectives and Investigative Committee detectives. Police detectives are even more dirty than their beat colleagues, because they have more information. Got your apartment robbed? Go on, pay like one third to a local detective, and you'll get you stuff back. You want to silence your rivals? Pay some money to operatives, and they can tear his house apart, arrest him, search his personal data, or worse.

Investigators are better. They are less corrupt - thanks to good supervision. But they don't care. Their job is office job - draft a resolution when you're assigned to a case, another - when you list someone as a suspect, then another - during a search, make three copies, one to a DA, on to a suspect, on to your chief. Oh, and don't forget the deadline! Or you'll face a reprimand. They prefer to get the case in court and forget  perp  and vic altogether.

Yes, there are reasons to hate police here.

Strangely, I work here. More than a year and a half and try to do my job. Sometimes its hard, sometimes its awful. Some of my friends done talking to me since I'm a pig. But still there is somebody who says thanks. This is the best part of it, really. When I was young, I dreamed about pursuits, uniform, emergency lights, shootings and all that. Now I know that's nothing comparing to a someone who just got their kid back and says thank you, or a person who almost lost his home to fraud.

In a nutshell - well, cops are bad here. Crooks are worse. There are good cops, and I never saw a good crook.

People have reasons for being cop haters. Maybe they have been done wrong by the police. There are numerous cases worldwide where police have went above what they were allowed to do, or been corrupt.

That being said, I have no opinion on cops as a whole. I judge each one, as some of them are great and some of them are power hungry and abuse their power.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Most people who hate law enforcement officers are people who are either "traumatized" by their "good" harmless", family member who sells drugs to minors because he cant get a job, so there for it must be legal, and when the law catches them and arrests them, they all of a sudden see, Oh no, look, he was arrested for selling drugs, or breaking into someones house, Oh but it was for someone else who is "needy", therefore the police are bad. These people who have 1 brain cell and don't know how to logically sum up a situation and think, oh, that's illegal, maybe I shouldn't do that, I'll probably get arrested, but, that's how this world is. Even for those cops who are corrupt, i still feel sorry for some of them, because maybe they just got tired of someones crap, but still, it doesn't make it legal.

While some are internet keyboard warriors, others (probably a minor) have had ecounters with bad cops. Either way, who in God's name would go and even bother looking at YouTube comments? In controversial videos you got shitstorms everywhere, what are ya gonna do?

Why should they just be fired? They should be charged with the crime they committed and given the maximum penalty, as they were granted the power to investigate and enforce the law they broke. Take this story for instance. Philadelphia police robbing stores using search warrants that were issued based on known lies for "drug paraphernalia" (small unused baggies, which are legal, otherwise they wouldn't be manufactured). Despite dozens of complaints and a video of the cops cutting the surveillance system, almost all of the cops suspected have been on desk duty for the last few years making $60,000 without overtime, and almost no follow up investigation from the FBI probe.

Or there are all the inexcusable shootings of pets. This just happened a few days ago. If some one goes into a backyard that doesn't belong to him/her, then that person has no excuse to shoot a dog in that backyard.

To rub salt in his wound, they followed that by arresting the owner.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

I live on a small island and every police officer I have come into any form of contact has been respectful and good. The only reason people here dislike the police is that it is either instilled from a young age or they're a criminal, whether it be an opportunistic thief or a drug dealer. So if I meet someone who speaks badly of the police here I just become suspicious, the only reason people here have a bad opinion of them is because they've either been on the receiving end of a pair of handcuffs, a baton or a spot of CS spray, or they just come from one of 'those' areas where it's the done thing to do.

Im my opinion, Most people hate the cops because what they do is wrong. such as smoke marijuana or do any other drugs. Maybe they just had a bad experience with police.Cops enforce law not to harass you or "get their quota". Laws are there to protect you and keep everyone safe and away from harm. People will always look at that 1% of corrupt officers in the world and think I hate cops. People say they feel more scared than protected by officers. Why? Its because you are doing something wrong aren't ya? Most cops i meet are courteous, nice, professional, and respectful. Although you cannot lay blame on only one reason why people hate cops. There are a lot of reasons.  The media and press will always report the bad and not the good because the bad is more entertaining, intriguing, and will get your attention always.

Blessed Are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God - Matthew 5:9

They fought the law and the law won. They talk tough to cover up the embarassment of being man-handled by a cop EASILY. I have no criminal record and have no issue with cops. In fact, every cop I've ever dealt with has been, kind, courteous, respectful, and generous. These cop haters are just wastes of space and oxygen. They are pieces of shit who in no way belong on this planet. They are keyboard warriors with rapsheets, felonies, probations, and arrest records. They are angsty teenagers who find it fashionable to say "fuck pigs" in the hopes that someone will notice and find them interesting enough to talk to them about their myspace page and the "dark and deep" song they have linked on it that expresses everything about them.

These cop haters are also the quietest person whenever a police officer is in their vicinity. I'd absolutely love to see them say that to a cop's face, but they won't because they're too scared. And that's why they hate the police. They're too stupid to know better.

My opinion towards cop haters is that I think people should start being more respectful to police officers. The reason why cops act so bad is because of the the way the suspect/criminal/ or a person not known to be a cop, treats the officers in a bad way. Besides, police officers are basically heroes, there is no reason what-so-ever to treat a cop miserably otherwise, you will be treated the same.

This reminds me of my freshman year when my teacher got stopped in front of the school for expired tabs, then she came was all mad cause she was late, and called the cop an asshole. And then I said damn women, calm down your car your responsibility. She told me shut-up. Women!

Anyways, some people hate cops because they make them late to work, even when there stopped across the street from work. But, I don't like people who make cops look bad, Or cops who abuse there power. If that makes any sense.
