everything sounds good, especially traffic accidents. the only thing i am not to keen on is the stolen police car. there's scenarios in 1.0 involving stolen vehicles. stolen police vehicles just doesnt seem realistic for me.

I added it just for fun if i'm honest. Just to see what would happen.

 

As Tom H has said it happens more than you think, it just embarraces the entire department so much they hush it up a lot. I have actually decreased the likelihood that a callout is a stolen police car compared to the number of normal stolen cars. Because you don't want a police cruiser stolen every 10 minutes. People joyride, and if they're drunk too they will joyride in whatever seems funny at the time.

Something I've always wanted is boat patrols. I don't know coding, but maybe it'd be possible for this script to recognise at which point you are in a boat, and then give you callouts that send you offshore in search of smugglers, illegal immigrants and such. That'd be cool.

 

And just to build on the terrorism idea, you could maybe try a hijacked train situation, sort of like Pelham 123, and the train would be stopped in one of the underground railroads until you negotiate with the hijacker. Any sort of hijacking would be a fun situation to deal with!

How about an officer in need of assistance call? A downed officer is located on the map and you have to get there within a certain time frame. If you don't, he dies and the suspect flees.

 

If you arrive on time you can arrest or neutralise the suspect and help your brother in blue.

How about a crazy man (influenced by drugs, alcohol, girldfriend just broke with him) and shoots  pedestrians and vehicles coming to his way? With the person having animation of able to shoot while in a drunk animation or just normal shooting? If you know what I mean. Then police won't shoot unless he shoot the police? I saw a video in real life about this, LAPD responding to it.

Also how about bomb suspected (Act of terrorism) in Airports, Subways, Police stations, Parks, The Lawyers office (Building) Fire Departments, Hospitals, Star (TIme Square)?

How about hostage taking, I ain't sure if it is possible. Is there an animation for it?

How about robberies in progress in Cluckin Bell, Burger Shots, etc.

 

What about civilian reports (seen by civilian) of a Wanted Person then look for it? He would be probably be running immediately as soon as police comes.

Riots will be also good

What about Arsons? A person throwing molotovs on a house/building, vehicles, people? then you will request firefighter, 

What about an fake police officers, citing pedestrians?

What about civilian reports of hit and run, control saying the color, model of the car?

What about an police officer in the streets being ambushed or assault?

What about pedestrian carrying a high power gun in public (M4, AK74, Shotgun,... Rocket Launchers? Grenades?

 

Arresting Prostitutes? Driver abusing a prostitute and drives her away? resulting in a pursuit?

As I have said before on Steam, truly impressive. It's great to be able to follow the development first hand. Bug testing is always hilarious... right? 

I'm VERY pleased to see someone workin' on callouts, 1.0 will be one step closer to perfection 

 

About calls: I'd stick with common crimes that fits LC (aka NYC) and put some danger on the streets and corners:

 

Robbery

Laundromat/Cluckin bell/bar(Lil' Jamaica in Beachwood City) - it depends on your arrival time what events will happen: shooting with suspects/pursuit or just checkin and clearing the place. NOOSE could be helpful when you need to enter the place with suspects inside.

 

Domestic

A talkin' couple in one of the buildings hall, one might have a knife or a baseball bat. Many possibilities here: attack on an officer (even both might be aggresive - pure NYC), an active warrant, drugs involved.

 

Juveniles using drugs

Perfect for projects, Bohan, Schottler's/Lower Easton dark corners etc. 2-3 NPC with an animation of smoking a cigarette, On search you find drugs, maybe some weapons. Active warrants seems alright too. Aggresive perps could force you to call an assistance and make it more realistic.

 

Angry crowd

Outside some places like police stations, Pierestroyka, community center of co-op city might gather 10-12 NPC with proper animation. Your task is to get rid of them. 2-3 could be aggresive, don't want to cooperate. You need to call an assistance, wait for them to not to take a lone-rider-style action and arrest everyone who's a troublemaker. Common event in NYC.

 

Homicide

After arriving you see a dead body with a couple of peds cops. Using a text messages (like in drunk man ambient events), you get an information about a possible location of a suspect. The one should be located in some interior (bldg/bar etc.). After arriving your task is to arrest the suspect which might not be easy...

 

A man harasses prostitutes

You got to check the area of Chase Point (or other where there's alot of workin

class girls) and find a man who's been reported for harassing women. He might be just walkin and talkin to girls or driving with a car.

 

Disturbance

Two homeless guys with some fancy animations in the middle of busy sidewalk somewhere in Downtown Broker, The Triangle or sth like that.

 

Burglary in progress

You might find or not some strange lookin guys in the hall of one of the buildings/in front of somebody's house etc. - depends on how fast you can reach the place

You can already request roadblocks, I assume though you mean where the AI police requests a roadblock and the callout is for you to be part of that roadblock?

Not entirely sure how to go about doing that at the moment although I will look into it. 

 

the main problem I can foresee is that the ambient police pursuits that spawn also get ambient spawning roadblocks as well (from what I have seen) so would need to make something very specific to put the player into that. We'll have a go though :)

You should add like vip/prisoner escorts.. OMFG if you could (probably not)- no offense i just think it would be hard but... A PARADE!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm liking what I'm reading. The closer to an episode of Adam-12 we can make this, the better IMO! I mean the DB call will be something interesting (and be neat, especially once Police Helper, or a tool like it is made for LCPDFR 1.0) and could be used to improve realism.

Re-introduction of Domestic disturbances as suggested earlier will be a much welcome move (don't get me wrong, I still think that my game gave me more of those than anything in the 0.95 days, but I sorta do feel 1.0 is sorta naked without it!) Speaking of Adam-12, that seemed to have been a running gag in the show, especially in the earlier seasons (if not shown, then mentioned by other officers.) Why stop at burglary at homes? We could add stealing stuff from cars too (an animation of someone going through a trunk of a car could be pretty helpful there.)

 

In the real world, we have aircraft enthusiasts, railfans, Emergency vehicle fans, and Bus fans and the like that will like to hang around places and watch planes, especially parking in places most people wouldn't to get the right view. I guess a call like that, like near FIA or a place in LC where a lot of buses hang out, would be great. People not in that scene might get concerned and call the Police thinking they caught the next great Al-Qaeda mastermind. It would be a suspicious person call where you pull up, check the person (and their parked car) for anything odd, and if nothing shows up, then you can tell them to move along (if they're parked in a place where they shouldn't) or let them go on with their business and let them know to call you if they see anything odd.

Armored Truck Robbery, like in Dead Presidents movie. Robbers may hijack the truck, which better be stopped without blowing it up, or they may simply escape in their cars.

It would be an amazing feature if I could add it, I will study the API lots to see if there is a way I can do that. But chances are I don't think I will be able to.

Yeah I have received similar callouts actually :) But to respond to the other guy, I might look at it and see if we can add some more variants of it.

It is going well at the moment, a few little bugs in places with some callouts but I will work around them and fix them as soon as I know how to.

 

For all those interested I'll likely be in the teamspeak tonight listening to the radio while I code callouts, I've seen the potential set list, it looks good from my perspective. good to code to anyway :P
