+1 for xaPKPax! The LCPDFR legend!

  • It's always been LCPDFR.  I don't really know where the colon came from actually, lots of people just started putting it like that.  I guess adding the colon makes more sense, but I prefer it without.

  • I was trying to find a game I played as a child, googled "playstation 1 police game", couldn't find anything back then. I went to youtube after that and searched the exact same thing and some how foun

I always dreamed of a gaming PC that could run GTA; I watched A LOT of Grand Theft Auto IV videos and stumbled upon LCPDFR. Been waiting a few years to be able to get a PC that can run it on low!

Same here!

Its a whole new gaming world when you finally get a decent/half decent gaming rig, I'm finally at the enviable stage when the first thing i do when i install a new game is go straight into the graphics options and Max out everything (I get 50+ FPS on GTA IV + mods with graphics settings maxed)

But it doesn't come cheap unfortunately.

Well I started by watching some random videos of police stuff in GTA IV. Both PPM and LCPDFR. Eventually I came across NB and pretty much stuck with watching his videos. I didn't have a computer that could handle it, so I asked for a better computer for Christmas one year, and even that one couldn't handle. So then I got a new video card so it could. This was all back in 2011. I joined these forums but never really became active until recently.

The reason I became more active, now. While watching NB's videos, I noticed he started playing on an SAMP server called FCRP. I then found out that the same people that started LCPDFR started FCRP, so naturally I had to get SA on PC and join that. I was much more active on those forums than these, helping people with things and stuff. As the FCRP community grew, the Staff Team there needed more moderators, so I applied. After a while, Sam brought me into the Staff Team as a Junior Server Moderator. When the server went down, Sam actually promoted me to a Server Moderator (not Junior anymore), but then never brought the server back. Anyway, since I enjoyed being a part of the community over there, I decided to start posting things over here, helping people and stuff.

I did some vigilante missions on my Xbox, but got bored of that, so I hit up YouTube and searched for "gta iv police mod", found both PPM and LCPDFR, this was in 2010 by the way.

I initially found PPM to be more "exciting" in the videos so I started with that, but I quickly realised that it just weren't that good, the controls and GUI made no sense, I finally managed to respond to a call, I arrived and were blown to pieces by several RPG's and assault rifles. I uninstalled PPM and installed LCPDFR, the rest as they say, is history.

I started my videos not long after, they did okay, nothing impressive.

Then come early 2011 and I decided to do a video with commentary on it, I didn't really intend on making it a "thing", the feedback was good so I kept on doing it, it took me a while to get comfortable with it, then I received access to the tester builds which was right around when I really started to gain subscribers.

That's the story of how I got started with LCPDFR, I did like most of you guys did and looked it up on Youtube, It just so happened that nobody really did much in terms of LCPDFR videos so I decided to try it out and it worked well.

I started out playing around with police car modding, still playing the bad guy. From there, I drifted onto GPM, and from there, found people talking about this "LCPD:FR" thing. That's how I found out.

Speaking of which: I know it used to be LCPD:FR. Is it now just LCPDFR, no colon?

It's always been LCPDFR.  I don't really know where the colon came from actually, lots of people just started putting it like that.  I guess adding the colon makes more sense, but I prefer it without.

As for finding out about LCPDFR, I think most people found it through GTAForums where everything was initially, then GPM (especially in August-December 2011 when they started on the path to their current train-wreck state), and now the thousands of LCPDFR videos on YouTube.

I feel left out because I don't get to say where I found out about it :(

I found out about it by searching up Need for Speed trailers. That was when I thought the console was the greatest invention of all time. I stumbled upon BritishPoliceMods trailer for his Mercedes and Dodge Sprinter!

I discovered LCPDFR while watching a video back in 2010 featuring several of Lt. Caine's Chevrolet Impala's and the LCPDFR mod, at the time I had no idea what the LCPDFR mod was. I then discovered GTAEmergencyMods, LCPDFR and finally GTAPoliceMods a few days later and my modding passion had begun.

This topic is really cool... in the sense that it makes people look back at where and how they found out about this website.... Right now... for it's all about the Passion to go into LE.

Saw NB's videos on youtube which eventually convinced me to buy a copy of the game again (already had it on 360 and PS3) so I could try it out. This was back when 0.91 had just been released.

NB, did you start your videos pre-alpha?

Never mind, I should learn to read :P

Wow, so it seems like I'm one of only a few people here who *didn't* find out about it from NB's videos. NB, thanks for bringing all the people.

NB got me into it. His stuff is hilarious! He actually is the one that got me into recording stuff and putting it on youtube. But after I saw some of his videos, I looked around for LCPDFR and finally found it and here I am! I love LCPDFR, the community and everything about it. I'm glad I found and I'm glad I play it.

Actually I found out from GTApolicemods.com

I discovered LCPDFR thanks to Asuna. He made a chase video and it had his own voice along with others who volunteered to help him out. At the time I played GTA:SA on the GPM  FR:RP server. Once I saw Asuna's video, I was like WOW! How did he do that?. I did some research and found out it was the LCPD:FR mod along with the ELS.v3 mod. Since then I've been hooked on it.
