It's Los Santos... people get shot, people get run over, things catch fire... and it's usually all your fault. Eventually, you need to do something to keep nosy bystanders out of your business. Ever wished you could quickly close off a freeway so no cars can get by? Ever wanted to block off the scene of a dead body so that curious pedestrians couldn't tell who exactly shot them? Perhaps you just want to peacefully do some construction work, but oblivious drivers keep driving into your work zone. Or maybe you're fighting a fire, and need to stop rubberneckers from wandering into harm's way. 

 

No matter what you do in Los Santos, Police Tape is here to keep everyone else out of your way.

KNOWN ISSUE: The tape sometimes droops through the ground, especially when there is not much wind or with longer pieces of tape. User more barriers and shorter pieces of tape to help reduce this effect. This is due to the limitations of what cloth physics can do in zmodeler/GTA V. Version 2.0 adds static tape models which do not sag as an option. You can choose for each strand whether to use static or dynamic tape.

 

KNOWN ISSUE: If you are having issues with changing the keybindings in the INI not taking effect in the game, add a single blank line at the top of your INI file. 

 

KNOWN ISSUE: You may need to install a modified gameconfig.xml, depending on your version of GTA V. If you already have a modified gameconfig.xml to support add-on vehicles, you should be OK. If you haven't before and your game crashes on startup after installing Police Tape, you need to install a custom gameconfig. You can use the following LML package to install a compatible Gameconfig file:

When i load the plugin, it crashes. (Not the game, only the plugin). I checked in the desc and downloaded the game config but it still crashes! Please i need help!

Please upload your ragepluginhook.log file and I will check it out.

Interesting. That seems to be an issue with GWEN Forms or the RPH graphics hook. Does the RPH Console (F4 key by default) work for you?

He said almost plugins are working without problem but Police Tape agreement window is not work normally.

My own and other friends are able to use Police Tape without same problem.

We have no idea what is the difference which Police Tape agreement window is working or not working.

My friend take a movie what happen when load PoliceTape.dll.

Not show agreement message background and cursor.

So, he can't select and click "Accept" button.

In my game, agreement message and "Accept" button were showed in normally.

But in my friend's game is not, which is looks like same to your problem.

I don't know the reason.

Read the big bold red text on the download page, or read the bold all caps text in the installer readme.

Hi, thanks for that! I don't know why the ParksTools wasnt changed in the OIV.

It should get overwritten, but it's possible the file was non-editable for some reason like if the game process still had it locked. Glad that fixed it for you!

Hi, would you be able to add controller button option in the ini. ? the R stick button dont work with gtav

I tried to change the key bindings in the INI file.  Once in game the default controls still exist and not the changes I made in the INI.

 

Any ideas?

Me too I have the same problem! The controls defined in the .ini file failed to overwrite the default controls...

Same here keybinding change don't apply in game, also I want to change the apply button for my controller, but there's no option to change what so ever. Hope we have a fix soon, really love this mod.

@PNWParksFan Any chance you can include a wind resistant version (or one that doesnt rubber band under ground)?

That's my biggest pet peeve with it- otherwise great mod!

 

Also, if you don't have the time to do one that's not affected by wind, is there a certain file (like .meta or something the enables it in the mod) that I personally can change to remove the wind effects on it?

As mentioned at least a dozen times, there isn't anything I can do about the stretching tape currently.

when's the next update  to fix  the dissapering, and the moveing  tape can you make it where the tape don't move please.

Apart from the keybinding issue, I figured out that some services (e.g Coroner and Towtruck) won't pass through the police cordon tape. Would be appreciated if you can add these services into a "whitelist" in the next update.

It basically checks if it's an emergency/law enforcement vehicle, or if it has flashing lights on. It should allow through towtrucks and coroners if they have flashing lights, but if you're using models that don't then they won't get through. There isn't any easy way to check if those vehicles should be allowed through, but I suppose I could add something to the INI where you could set models to always allow.

You may have covered this, so sorry in advance if you have.  I installed everything, loads fine and whatnot, but all my police cars and switched back to the regular gta5 ones.  Any idea on how to fix this?

Most likely you had your cars installed in the original game folders (i.e. you were not using a Mods folder), but when you went to install the Police Tape mod you selected "install to Mods folder" in the OIV package installer. Therefore, the game is now loading from your mods folder instead of your original game files, and it isn't picking up your modified vehicles. 

 

What you should do is install all modded vehicles and any other game file modifications to the mods folder, always.

All of my cars are loaded in the latest patchday.  Patchday18 in the MODS folder... [UPDATE]  I figured it out... From another mod, I had x64e in the mods folder and it was loading all the cars from there.  I just went through and replaced them all.

Would be nice to get a uninstall.oiv  so if deleted needed you can do so without people have no chance to delete if you they dont know how to
