  1. Lightbars are not exclusive to emergency services...Yes, police cars, ambulances, and firetrucks generally have lightbars (or some sort of emergency lighting setup); but so do tow trucks, construction vehicles, DOT vehicles, security vehicles, volunteer firefighters/paramedics' personal vehicles, tractor trailers, and every other vehicle that might need to warn other drivers of their presence.
  2. You can make dummies for the extras by changing the tool that has a cone shape to "Dummy Helper" by clicking the drop down arrow, then click on the tool. It will add a dummy to the hierarchy - just rename and move it to the right place, then you can drag the L0's, etc. into that. If you look at my hierarchy you can see how extras 5, 6, and 9 are different. Look closely. You need to attach extras with the same name using the attach tool - see this tutorial. Edit: Also, extra_# shouldn't be the actual light texture. It should just be a dummy - extra_#_L0 should be the light, and placed inside extra_# in the hierarchy.
  3. Install this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653
  4. I don't think it's an issue, just something being logged. It's common and shouldn't cause any problems.
  5. I'm being held against my will, send help I think they heard me...
  6. Your hierarchy needs to look like this: extra_1 extra_1_L0 extra_2 extra_2_L0 extra_3 extra_3_L0 extra_4 extra_4_L0 extra_5 extra5 extra5_L0 extra_6 extra6 extra6_L0 extra_7 extra_7_L0 extra_8 extra_8_L0 extra_9 extra9 extra9_L0 There can't be extra_10, extra_40, etc. and extra_5, extra_6, and extra_9 are set up differently than the rest.
  7. Well I'm not sure why that would be. Perhaps a complete reinstall and start from fresh is in order.
  8. Whatever version of WinZip you are using is taking the files out of the folders within the archive (see the Path part on that picture you posted). Use 7zip instead, it's free and much better in my opinion. You install ELS by dragging all of the contents of "INSTALLATION FILES" to your main GTA IV directory. If you have LCPDFR installed, however, do not copy AdvancedHook.dll, ScriptHook.dll, or dsound.dll as LCPDFR already installed the newest versions of those.
  9. If you don't have EFLC, then I don't know what to tell you.
  10. LCPDFR creates a log when it initializes. It initializes when the game starts. Going on duty only activates the mod - it's already initialized when you press Alt-P, just not activated.
  11. Just to make it easier for me, delete LCPDFR.log from your GTA IV directory. Then go in game and try to start LCPDFR (if it works great, if not continue reading). Quit the game and run the diagnostic tool again, then post the new log the tool creates.
  12. If the error message about LCPDFR.loader.loader (or whatever it says) shows up, then something will be in the log about why there was an error.
  13. That just means LCPDFR failed to initialize - the log will show what the issue actually is.
  14. Make sure you are using the ScriptHookDotNet.asi from LCPDFR, and that ScriptHookDotNet.dll does not exist. If the .dll exists, delete it.
  15. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Also make sure you have either dsound.dll or xlive.dll, not both.
  16. When you install ELS, keep your current version. If you install LCPDFR, overwrite it.
  17. If you need support, please create your own topic. Considering the OP hasn't logged in since the day after he created it, he probably fixed the problem or gave up or simply became too busy. To prevent this from being hijacked further, I'm going to lock the topic. Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by LCPDFR.com staff. If you feel that this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.

  20. MODERATOR NOTICE Your thread has been moved to GTA IV Discussion and Media. Please read the "Showroom Style Forums" announcement before posting in the showroom forums: https://www.lcpdfr.com/forum-792/announcement-11-showroom-style-forums/
  21. That right there is the problem. I thought this was about how letting the businesses sort it out will only hurt the consumer, so the FCC is stepping in to protect us. I really don't understand how the internet disagrees with that logic.
  22. Okay, open LCPD First Response. Highlight everything in it, then right click -> cut. Go back to the main GTA IV folder (where GTAIV.exe is) and paste. Copy and Replace if it asks.
  23. ELS has an outdated version of AdvancedHook, read this: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  24. It's a thing with Windows, the read only box will probably always go back to being checked. Based on that log, the installation didn't complete properly. Is there a folder called "LCPD First Response" or something similar? ("lcpdfr" is normal, but "LCPD First Response" is not).
  25. MODERATOR NOTICE Moving to GTA IV Development Tutorials & Questions as this is a question about developing a mod for GTA IV, not a general topic about computers & technology.
