ELS V6, ELSV7, ELSV8

So I go to install ELS, and inside the ELS Zip, there is no ELSE folder.
Just the files.
Put them in "common"

nothing.

How disappointing. research on the internet - no one posts a thing about it.
Wow.

Go to the downloaders page -
"go to the forum if your having a problem"

WOW. I bet this ELS mod would be great if you didn't have to logon to 5 different forums just to figure out the issue.

What are you downloading, because I just downloaded els v8, and it has all the files.

No file directory "ELS"

No "install folder"

none of these folder described in the manual, online videos exist in the zip.

What happened? It does not work! Very aggervating I spent hours installing these files in random places. running the game each time just to find out it doesnt work because the package does not contain all the files needed.

Just create a folder called ELS. Put the slot control and default config into the ELS folder. Now drag the ELS folder, the advancehook, scripthook and dsound(depending on if u want multiplayer or not) and all the other main files, not the pdfs and stuff in the main directory

I do yes, In fact the package said for ELS 8

And I reinstalled framwork and that stuff to get the adv.hooks and scripts to work right. LCPDFR and dashcam.
So I dont think the issue is in that sector, rather a failure to install something on my part, due to the installation package being completely different then before, this iswhy i went to website issue, because I have installed this before no issue.

I Fret there is something in "ELS" that is not available in the Zip

I think I know your problem. I'm guessing the cars you downloaded in that els pack included their own els configs? If so, make sure you put them into the ELS folder you created, and rename the things in the slotcontrol to match those configs. Other than that idk

But the interface for the ELS does not even engage - wouldnt the interface have to atlease engage, informing the script is running?

Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues

Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.

Make sure that you are using the Advancedhooks and Scripthooks provided with LCPD:FR
{done}
Delete AdvancedHookInit.asi (If present in main directory)

Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
{WAS NOT done}
Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder

Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.

Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.

Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
Install Net Framework 4.5 and Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

ensured the vehicle setting are correct and true to installation packages.
Running Dsound.

Whatever version of WinZip you are using is taking the files out of the folders within the archive (see the Path part on that picture you posted). Use 7zip instead, it's free and much better in my opinion. 

 

You install ELS by dragging all of the contents of "INSTALLATION FILES" to your main GTA IV directory. If you have LCPDFR installed, however, do not copy AdvancedHook.dll, ScriptHook.dll, or dsound.dll as LCPDFR already installed the newest versions of those.

Well I'm not sure why that would be. Perhaps a complete reinstall and start from fresh is in order.

I have located the problem.

In the installation file for the car I had downloaded, the Instructions named the file different then the actual file name

"Move ELS Configlapd_patrol.ini and ELS Configlapd_slickop.ini into your GTAIVELS directory"

But the files are named: lapd_unmarked and lapd_marked.

I copied and pasted lapd_patroll and pd_slicktop into the "_SLOTCONTROL" file for the ELS controls. Creating a failed directory.

The other mistake was
I did copy AdvancedHook.dll, ScriptHook.dll, or dsound.dll before you said something.

Additionally, Winzip made the installation confusing, and contributed to the many errors.

The ELS is running and seem to work with Key bing Cntrl+ Backspace.
M does not function (binded by LCPDFR)

But, The visual effects on the light bar are particularaily low, and i transfered the file Visual file ..... but to only one location..
Ill research into this because I saw another thread with a solution to the issue i thought.

Thanks for your help. and sorry to blame the DL for the error when it was winzip.

Edit: Oh and the controls and now i understand the config is 100% better then v6.
this is incredible, hope i can figure out the visual issues!
