New GTA V Questions answered by Rockstar
Oh man, can't wait! Looks like I'm buying a console after all. Is PS3 the better choice of the two? Seems PS3 has one disk, and Xbox requires two. DrDetroit

Possible Taser Solution
Yea, that Taser Fix file is helpful if you don't have the correct amb_nailgun.wtd and wft files (taser files). In which case the taser will not show on your cops belt. The weaponinfo, from what I understand, dictates what kind of damage certain weapons do, and what kind of materials it will penetrate at certain distances (ballistics modeling I guess). Could be wrong about the weaponinfo file. Anyhow, if you don't see the taser on your cops belt after hitting left ALT+T, or you see a nailgun sticking out of your guys belly, you need the Taser Fix Ast Trooper has offered. DrDetroit

Possible Taser Solution
So, my taser was porked a few months ago due to some mod I must have installed. The taser would show on my holster after hitting left ALT+T, but my cop would not pull it. He would just continue to pull his pistol, or nothing at all. All the while, I can see the damn thing right there on his belt! Anyhow, I assumed it was a key conflict, and apparently it is. After activating the taser the first time (left Alt+T), it shows on my cops belt. Now I have to hit CTRL+ALT+T, and my cop will pull the taser as expected. After the initial CTRL+ALT+T keystrokes, I am able to use the normal left ALT+T keystrokes (the default keystroke) after initiating the taser the first time. Should work for anybody who see's the taser on the belt after hitting ALT+T, but the cop will not pull it. DrDetroit

Cease and Desist on Grand Junction Police Department Skins
Good article...never know how the journalist will spin these kind of stories. One thing is certain, they (GJPD), do know who you are now! DrDetroit

Cease and Desist on Grand Junction Police Department Skins
You don't know that for a fact (unless you are on Fords legal team). I'd presume you're correct in that assertion, but you simply can't say that as absolutely factual, cause they could and they do all the time. I wouldn't want to find out either. ...just sayin' DrDetroit

Police Tactics - Real Sim
Not entirely true. There are patents and trademarks on certain aesthetics of vehicles. My very good buddy is a patent attorney for Ford, previously Chrysler, and they go after other companies for things like that; aesthetics and likeness. For example, Ford would have sued anybody who made an unauthorized copy of the venerable Ford Willys Jeep with the 5-slot grill. That is patented and trademarked. So many model companies would make it a 7-slot grill or 4-slot, because Jeep would not give them the rights/license to make that exact Jeep...probably to this day that particular Willies in unavailable as a model of any sort, been a long time since I've concerned myself with that. GTA keeps Crashing after loading screen
You have to manually remove the GTAIV folder after uninstalling, I know I did. Also, run a registry cleaner and remove any save games, which is in your Rockstar folder located in My Documents. There can't be any vestige of the game prior to the re-installation. EDIT: Oh, and always, always, always make backups of your files...just backup the whole damn game to be safe. And don't install 4-cars at once. Install one mod at a time and then play the game for a bit to make sure it works. You wouldn't have this issue if you'd take your time (or if you had made a backup of your files prior to modding them). Good luck! DrDetroit

Emergency lighting in GTA V
Yea, just rumors on a few sites. The only official word I've seen from Dan Howser (sp?) that it's a "consideration". Not a very heart warming response, although can't imagine any GTA series would not be available for PC...that's it's home for sh*t sakes. R* should give a little more love to the PC gamers, which without us, there would have been no Rockstar Games. DrDetroit

Emergency lighting in GTA V
I read the same thing last night, just google it, you'll see it in the top three-four results. The idea is that they plan on releasing the PC version at the same time it comes out for the latest generation of consoles. True or not...we'll see. Makes sense though. I think I seen that in a Huffington Post article...not sure, was doing a lot of reading last night. DrDetroit

Cease and Desist on Grand Junction Police Department Skins
yea, with a millions of cars that have no rights to use the images from other PD departments as well. I bet there isn't one car that is authorized by Ford to use it's copyrighted badges either. So you don't want to post a cool LCPDFR vid with a nice new CVPI on the Ford Facebook page. Get it? Good! Common sense isn't so common. DrDetroit Huh? LCPDFR don't care about the PD? Why would they? The GJPD cares about their cars being on LCPDFR/GTAIV though, don't they. I think they made that quite clear. DrDetroit

Will GTA 5 be available on PC?
Who knows. They didn't release RDR for the PC, which make me think they may not release GTAV for PC either. Would be aweful, I'd have to buy a damn PS3 (or whatever) for two games...well three, since I'd like to try out The Last of Us, which will probably not be on PC either. DrDetroit

Cease and Desist on Grand Junction Police Department Skins
I could have told you something like that was going to happen soon after posting that on the PD Facebook page. What'd you think they do/say "good job! Keep up the good work!"? Not only that, you could get the entire LCPD site in deep shit with unwanted attention like that. DrDetroit

Horrible FPS with good PC
Kill all your unnecessary services and apps in Task Manager, will help a lot. Go into services and shutoff things like diskdefrag and windows instrumentation...there are a whole slew of other services that are failry useless but suck up CPU and RAM. Generally if you try to shut-down a required service, the system will not allow it, but just be careful. Also, try curbing the shadow and water settings by lowering those to "off" or "low" and see how that helps. Keep detail, visual distance and traffic density down, should help. You should see pretty smooth frames with your system. Good day, DrDetroit

Correct. Check the .ini and adjust the settings to your liking. Pretty self explanatory once you open the ini. DrDetroit

TrafficLoad and TrafficFlow Textures
Yes, Real Traffic uses a little more system resources due to increased amount of cars and peds that spawn, compared to Traffic Load. RT spawns alot of both. The nice thing with Traffic Load, you can adjust the amount of cars and peds that spawn. DrDetroit

TrafficLoad and TrafficFlow Textures
Try Chikmaru Real Traffic. Works well if your system can handle it. I switch between that and Traffic Load. DrDetroit
