  1. You have ELS installed in your common folder? It should be in your games root directory, not the common folder. Remove the files from your common folder and place them in your root folder (ie: mine is eflc so the path is :C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IV Episodes from Liberty CityEFLC). Good luck DrDetroit
  2. X45 is a nice old HOTAS, I use one for my F4BMS F-16 sim. I don't think you can use it with GTAIV though, I believe only the XboX controller works with GTAIV and LCPDFR. DrDetroit
  3. Yes, open the .ini and you'll see the setting. Look into Traffic Load or Chickmarus Real Traffic, I switch between those two, much better alternatives in my opinion. DrDetroit
  4. Left_Alt + M? If not, press Backspace and see if express mode is enable (backspace enables this), then hit Alt+Backspace to disable Express mode. If none of those work, you may have a key conflict with SNT (trainer), if installed. EDIT: Also try scrolling through the three light modes with / and make sure that is off/disabled after you scroll though the 3 modes. DrDetroit
  5. He probably has Traffic Flow installed. From what I remember, that script has a setting for the EMS and firetrucks showing up on scene. I don't user Traffic Flow, so not 100% sure. DrDetroit
  6. If still there, manually delete the root folder and the R* folder located in your My Documents. Then, like Break said, delete the registry entries. I just run a registry cleaner to clear the registry entries. You should be able to re-install after that. EDIT: I think IO Bit has a free reg cleaner...or try Advanced System Care. DrDetroit
  7. Oh...my bad. The OP is a bit confusing.
  8. Yes, it will fix the traffic, you will see a very diverse car set when driving though LC. All of them work, some better than others. If I were you, I'd use Traffic Load (like ineseri said), or use Chikmaru's Real Traffic. The latter two offer all the cars available in-game and they do not spawn all over the place, like the beach or in alleys, or on top of your crusier. Don't like Traffic Flow much, as it only uses 20-cars, out of 80 or 90, and they spawn really weird, like in places there should never be any traffic. But I guess the upside is that it is the less stressful of the three, so your box can run it without lag (if you experience lag that is). DrDetroit
  9. What traffic fix are you using? Never had a car spawn on top or anywhere near me or my customer. That's strange, you must have a bad traffic fix or something....probably Traffic Flow if I was to guess. DrDetroit
  10. Yea, GTAV will be out on PC in 2014 sometime (according to rumors), so plenty of time for us non-console gamers to enjoy LCPDFRv1 while we wait for the PC version of GTAV. That is assuming the release of LCPDFRv1 sometime this year. DrDetroit
  11. I would bet about the same specs, roughly. I7 with 8gigs of RAM would be my guess, 1-gig minimum vid card (maybe 2gigs, who knows). It's basically the same engine, but a much larger map and a whole hell of a lot more to do. Hopefully they do a decent port so it utilizes more of the horsepower today's computers offer, unlike the current GTAIV ports. EFLC is a much better performing game, probably due to a better optimized port, just an assumption on my part. DrDetroit
  12. Left-ALT+M for menu. U to select primary patterns, I to select secondary patterns and O to select wig-wag patterns. [ will turn on the primaries without any pattern (forget the name) and ] is your take-down lights (bright whites). Almost forget: J turns on the light patters (hit J 3times to get to primary patters) and H turns on sirens. T will let you blurp your siren when needed. It's good you have your scripts and ELS in order now. DrDetroit
  13. Yes, VdhPoliceHelper, Vdh TowMod, Braveheart...those file go into your scripts folder, all of them. ELSv7, unzip those files (and the folder) to your GTAIV main directory, not the script folder. Basically the .net.dll files are scripts and go into your scripts folder, and the .asi files are not scripts and go into your main directory. Main/root GTAIV folder for steam should be located here: C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IVGTAIV Scripts folder for GTAIV is here: C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IVGTAIVscripts I use EFLC, which is in the same directory as GTAIV, one folder down from Grand Theft Auto IV. Good luck! DrDetroit
  14. Make sure those files are in your scripts folder, not your GTAIV root folder. DrDetroit
  15. I just heard that on the Mike Savage radio show, and I was stunned. Like it's something to joke about and funny or something that a plane crashed and people died. That idiot talking head should be canned immediately, same with the writers and editor/director, and that station should be sued, as it's offensive, disrespectful to the Asians, and not to mention racist. Typical double standard of the left wing nut jobs that run wild in today's news rooms..if Rush or a talking head on Fox said that, they'd be crucified and hung out to dry within hours of such a comment. DrDetroit
  16. Steam is far more portable than a disk. As long as you can log into your account, you can download and install the game. I was very unimpressed with early iterations of Steam (been gaming since '93 on my 386 with a huge 12' monitor and Microprose F14, so seen it all), but now I simply love Steam. No disks to mess with (or broken), no CD codes to keep track of, no stack of old games disks piling up...etc. Plus, if the game is porked, you can usually fix it with the Steam integrity check. My $0.01 worth. Good day, DrDetroit
  17. I'm not a big fan of command lines, as they usually make the game run worse, but surprisingly, this one actually works well for my machine. I pushed my texture detail to HIGH, from medium, and the game actually runs noticeably smoother at the higher settings. Thanks for posting. DrDetroit
  18. Good deal. No more gibberish on ur screen. DrDetroit
  19. If it's a Steam version, I think you can do some sort of integrity check, located in your Steam library, and it will replace the corrupt files. Never tried it, but I guess it works. Gotta love Steam though. Makes gaming life a little easier. DrDetroit
  20. Mine works fine. I'll switch it between music and dispatch audio, depending on my mood. Anyhow, I just placed the MP3 files in C:....DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVUser Music and then, in game, go to audio tab, and select sequential or random and then hit the scan button. That's it, nothing more than that. Good luck, DrDetroit
  21. Use TrafficLoad or Chikmarus Real Traffic. Way better tax bug fixes as these two use all 80-90 cars, the textures will not flash/pop as much, and you will not get cars spawing on the beach or in alleys, etc. i do not play multiplayer, but I guess there is no taxi bug when online, even if using modded ELS cars.
