  1. Yea, it works. I do it all the time by accident. I take a crusier home and forget it's there, then change the model. DrDetroit
  2. You have no ASI loader that is working according to the Diagnostic Tool. Try this: Make sure you right click the installer and run installer as Administrator. Install LCPDFR without tazer and with dsound checked, then see if the mod runs. If not, remove dsound and use xlive (xliveless) and then try the mod again. I had issues with dsound myself for some odd reason, replaced it with xlive and everything works fine. I don't play online/multiplayer so xlive works well for me, but if you play online you need dsound. Almost forgot: use the LaunchGTAIV.exe or LaunchEFLC.exe, not the GTAIV.exe or the Steam exe. Good luck, DrDetroit
  3. Do you have Steam or a disk version? DrDetroit
  4. Seems you have a pretty damn fine mochine, not sure why you want to OC it. Far as I have heard and noticed, that 30FPS drop will happen regardless during certain time cycle/weather cycle changes. DrDetroit
  5. Just move the car out of the safe house parking lot and then save. You can drive about 2-blocks before the game crashes. DrDetroit
  6. I believe there a newer version of GFWL that you need to download and install. Go to R* and download/install the newest version of GFWL and then try running the game. I think that is your problem. DrDetroit
  7. Personally, even with all the models out there, I still have yet to find my perfectly setup car, with the exact lighting, model and skins that suites me. Also, the interiors are all different, so when I'm playing in 1st person mode, I know I'm in a different car than the last one. So personally, I appreciate all the effort these guys put into these things, repetitive or not. Also, like NickieB said, cop cars are just a few models types, so I don't want to see a Faggio Police or an Austin Martin cop car...cheezy and unrealistic. But, to each his own. I take a look at the days uploads, if I see one I like I DL it, if not I don't. Doesn't bother me one bit. I don't know crap about modeling or even gluing parts together, so it's all good with me. BTW: Go to GTA4-mods.com and there are so many civillian cars your head will spin. I just DLed a really nice Vette (20meg car!) and a cool Sultan RS with a handling line that makes that car so damn fast I have to stop and wait for the cops when I'm rampaging. Good day, DrDetroit
  8. And if backup doesn't show on the first request (F10), walk up to the suspect again, check his/her ID and then hit F12 once or twice and backup will spawn 99% of the time. DrDetroit
  9. It does work and it works well. Thanks for the find Darth, much appreciated. You can save at any time and any location and when you load the save game you start at the safe house. No issues. DrDetroit
  10. Upgrade memory to 8Gigs or 16-gigs, that will help. Also, keep in-game settings, in peticular draw distance and traffic density, under 20-25. Try reducing your textures to medium and reflections to low/medium and see how that effects your game. LCPDFR call-outs will start slowing down after a bit, just hit F11 to force call-outs (different ones that you don't see normally), although I switch between LCPDFR call-outs and Braveheart call-outs. Sometimes I'll just shut down LCPDFR calls altogether and I'll just use Bravehearts calls. With Police Helper also installed, and the random events that occur, it will keep you busy. Keep in mind that the game will crash at times, regardless of settings and machine specs. Get the settings optimized and you'll extend the life of the game to a few hours before crashing. Good day, DrDetroit
  11. If I jump into the game as a Sheriff, I'll do more traffic stops and radar, basically in all over LC, using Braveheart call-outs from time to time. If I'm playing as LCPD, I'll select an AO (Area of Operation) and pretty much patrol that area, which is generally a certain city/district area, unless a call-out takes me out of area, then I'll patrol that area until another call-out takes me elsewhere. If I want to do bait-car, I'll jump into a unmarked, generally as a Detective, and work the bait car, possibly a little traffic, for that shift. I'll not do call-outs for the most part when working the bait car. I pretty much shut off LCPDFR call-outs, and just use Bravehearts call-outs. Police Helper random events will keep you busy with or without the call-outs as well. DrDetroit
  12. I use the Steam version as well. That is the last update/patch for GTAIV, so you shouldn't see any updates. Use the LaunchGTAIV.exe instead of GTAIV.exe. or LaunchEFLC.exe, depending on your preference. It's located in your main GTAIV game folder. It will negate you from having to log into Steam. I never log into Steam to play GTAIV. DrDetroit
  13. That's exactly what I was asking about. Although I don't really use the trainer right now, lags my system a bit at the moment. I'll have to start using it when I pickup my gaming box later this week, at which time I'll be able to run SNT and one of the beautiful ENBs out there. Again, thanks for the heads up Darth. Another reason I'll have to start using the trainer. DrDetroit
  14. A little OT.... Do the clans all use authentic call-out codes, procedures and whatnot, like the real cops do? I had seen some really nice clan vids of what looked and sounded like very realistic/simulated approach to call-outs, with dispatcher and everything!...was pretty neat stuff. Is that how most clans approach the game? Not sure about everyone else, but that would be the only reason I'd be interested in joining a clan. Getting as close to the real deal as possible. Anyhow, make it a great day! DrDetroit
  15. I like to save after every patrol when I can, as I have Farnesworth Business Mod, so I need the days to pass by in-game in order to collect my weekly/monthly profits and buy more expensive businesses. Unfortunately, I have to complete my on-duty shift, then go all the way home to save. Would be nice if there were an in-game save option other than the safe house. Then again, not a big deal. Although I usually get into some trouble on the way home and end up in a shootout with my cop buddies. Good day, DrDetroit
  16. Probably a lack of RAM and being a dual core 32-bit system is the main reason for the issue. Try using non-ELS cars and keep your in-game graphics settings on low. DrDetroit
  17. Ahhh....nice. Thanks! DrDetroit
  18. Anybody know what paul.dll is? I just noticed it in my main EFLC directory. Just curious what is does and if it's a necessary dll or not. DrDetroit
  19. Love the tweaks to the script, very nice work. Love how the audio matches the suspects actions, very nice touch! I did get a crash with the bomb threat scenario. I analyzed the bomb OK, but when waiting for the bomb squad, the game crashed. Below is the error: [6/4/2013 11:09:27 AM] MISSION 3 ERROR : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Thanks and good day! DrDetroit
  20. ha ha....looks like a lot of fun! I'm glad you won that first race visible! DrDetroit
  21. Love this car, the texture is perfect...and the Tahoe is remarkable!
  22. I use EFLC and had the same problem. I removed the visualsettings.dat files located in EFLC, TBOGT and TLATD (common/data, back up all files), and I put the ELSv7 Visualsettings.dat file in the EFLC common/data folder only. That seemed to have solved the issue with the white, non-luminescent, ELS lighting during certain time cycles. Now they are nice, vivid and bright at all times. I also tweaked the "# Other emissive lights" settings in the visualsettings.dat file, increasing the emissive.on settings. Good luck! DrDetroit
  23. Just go into Policing.ini and set Resist Arrest to False. That will alleviate any issue with arresting suspects. You will not have every other arrest turn into a foot chase or shootout, way better with this setting turned off. DrDetroit
  24. Run the Diagnostic Tool and post it here. That may give some clues. DrDetroit
