  1. Go into Task Manager and turn off any unnecessary running apps. I'd guess that you have something running in the background that is sapping up resources. You can also turn off services (services tab) that are running as well. DrDetroit
  2. Try disabling your anti-virus. That happens to me when I don't shut down AVG prior to starting the game. DrDetroit
  3. I get this issue too, only when in FPS mode while exiting/entering the car. For example; When getting out of the car, it seems it is attached to the camera during the transition when going from inside to outside of the car. So if you move the camera while exiting, the car will actually move/swivel with the camera until you are entirely out of the car and the door is closed. If not careful, you could end up with the car a full 180 degrees off from the initial orientation from when you pulled over and parked to get out of the car. I just figured it's a part of life if using the FPS mod and in FPS mode. It happens to me with any car I get in/out of. DrDetroit
  4. Yes, probably because you have your GTA files all over the place. Just install GTA to the default directory and point the LCPDFR installer to the proper root folder (depending on if EFLC or GTAIV). Remember, don't use a cracked/pirated copy of GTAIV. Most likely it will not work. DrDetroit
  5. That's the exe...use LaunchGTAIV, not GTAIV. Applications are generally, if not always, .exe. DrDetroit
  6. Are you running a legit copy of GTAIV? If so, right click the installer and run as Administrator; uncheck it once and save, it will look like it does not uncheck, but it does. Also, make sure your GTAIV folder is not "Read Only". If you still have issues, uncheck the tazer when you reinstall LCPDFR. EDIT: Also, make sure your using the LaunchGTAIV.exe and not the GTAIV.exe as well. And make sure you are running this .exe as Admin as well. That should do it. DrDetroit
  7. Did you accidentally hit the Express Mode? It will turn on all lighting with one key press (I think it's G but might be J...don't use Express at all), it will lock you out of the menu though. Try pressing backspace if having problems, that will bring you in and out of Express. DrDetroit
  8. Looks to me that you do not have the latest patch installed for EFLC. Isn't it 1.7.1.7? It's been a bit since I've had to do the dance. ELSv7 is the only mod, other than LCPDFR? No cars, nothing else? DrDetroit
  9. Right click the .exe and run as Administrator. Uncheck the tazer also. DrDetroit
  10. Nice work Spitfire7! Looking forward to seeing them in my livery. Good day, DrDetroit
  11. I don't think they teach grammar, punctuation or spelling in school any longer. i learned to writ it online wit facealbook. Wat up wit dat schinit?!! Just kidding...I do like the cars though. DrDetroit
  12. Cool, thanks! DrDetroit
  13. Just to clarify; so when I'm off duty, I can Alt+P to active LCPDFR, then I have access to the arrest functions w/out going on duty? What does Ctrl+P do and when should this be used? Thanks for the good info. DrDetroit
  14. Just go and get a copy of Mafia and/or Mafia2. Great games, and the theme is more what you're talking about. DrDetroit
  15. I LIKE IT!!! What the heck was I thinking?! I'm going to try and recreate the Hindenburge (SP?) DrDetroit
  16. The pre-order stuff sounds cool, except for the blimp part. Who the hell cares about flying a blimp? Why would you want to fly a blimp anyhow? Sounds gay as hell. DrDetroit
  17. I seem to remember that you have to remove the registry entries before re-installing. It's been a while since I've done the dance, but try running a registry cleaner prior to installing the game again, or you can manually remove the registry entries. Also, make sure the main game folder, and subfolders, have been removed. You can manually do this as well if the uninstaller doesn't remove them from your root directory. EDIT: Also may be a conflict with a previous same game, located in the Rockstar folder. DrDetroit
  18. In your ELS.ini file, look for environmental lighting (ENV Lighting), located in the Main Configuration section. Increase the values to your own liking. I believe the main settings are the last three starting withENVMult...increase those numbers to your liking. Mine are: [ ENV LIGHTING ] Range_PRML = 70 Inten_PRML = 20 Range_SECL = 7 Inten_SECL = 10 Range_WRNL = 7 Inten_WRNL = 9 EnvMult_Morning = 0.5 EnvMult_Evening = 0.8 EnvMult_Night = 1.2 Good luck! DrDetroit
  19. You have minimal RAM and your vid card is 500meg...that's the problem. Although I suspect that your graphics card is using vRam, chewing up your already scant RAM. Try adding 8-16gigs. Also, you can try to turn off shadows, reduce view and detail distances to under 15, and car density under 20, texture quality to medium/low and reflectons to med/low. Good luck! DrDetroit
  20. Hello! First off, in regards to the taxi bug, the bug will happen anytime you mod your cars with high-poly models. Furthermore, I noticed that the civilian car mods have huge poly counts, dwarfing the poly counts of the highest-poly police vehicles on this site (my civilian Vette has a poly count of something like 10+megs and my Sultan RS mod has something like 18meg! By comparison, and my BxBuggs high poly police car is at 4meg). So that will just wreak havock on the cars that spawn (only taxis') and probably texture loss/popping/flashing. Just install Traffic Load (you can configure this one) or use Chikmaru's Real Traffic; I tend to bounce between the two. I do not like Traffic Flow because you only get 20 cars spawning out of the 90+ in-game, and I notice the traffic spawns in alleys, on the beach and on the boardwalk, everywhere a car will fit. With ELS and LCPDFR installed, as well as probably 25-30 other mods/scripts running, you want to keep your vehicle density under 40 (I keep mine between 25-30), and drop your view and detail distances in half at least. This will help with the texture issue that may arise. As for installing the car mods, use SparkIV or OpenIV. I tend to use SparkIV, as it's a simpler interface, but many prefer OpenIV...depending on what you're modding. Good luck!! DrDetroit
  21. Yup, reboot the 'puter. I get the same thing if I mod too many cars, peds, ect, at the same time. DrDetroit
  22. You can't save game while playing as a cop (LCPDFR activated). You have to go to the police station, go off-duty, then turn off LCPDFR before saving the game. You can save the game with modded cars, as long as you don't change the car while it's saved at your safe house. If you have a noose cruiser parked, do not change that car until you move it off the safe house lot. It will crash if you mod a vehilce that is currently parked at the safe house. DrDetroit
  23. Braveheart script will give you many various call-outs, at random locations for the most part. Police Helper will give you random events that just pop up as you do your patrols (drunks, MVA, fights, armed robbery, just to name a few), very awesome mod as well. Have fun! DrDetroit
  24. I would say the "must have" mods are: VdhPolice Helper Coroner Mod ELS v7 VdH Tow Service Braveheart Policing ALPR If you have texture popping and/or the taxi bug after modding cars use Traffic Load or Chikmaru's Real Traffic mod. Good day, DrDetroit
