It's been a while, but we're back, just like old times, with a very special New Year's update for everyone. Exciting things tend to happen at the beginning of the year here at LSPDFR, and 2016 is proving to be no exception. Continuing with this theme, there's a little something that I'd like to finally share with everyone who has played and supported what we've done here for the past six and a half years, and also with those who have yet to join us in what has been, still is, and will continue to be an incredible journey...

In light of the Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition being released on PC via the Rockstar Launcher, we have recently revisited Liberty City ourselves to update some of the old, broken modding tools. As a result of this, LCPD First Response (LCPDFR), the original police mod for GTA IV is now available to download and easier to play again. LCPDFR 1.1 (Legacy Edition) is the final release of LCPDFR 1.1 from 2015, but updated with the new Compatibility Patch by @LMS so that it's now far easier to hop back in time and relive our original classic.
  6. We've just updated LSPDFR to version 0.4.9, which not only brings with it new features and improvements but also an exciting opportunity to take part in some real-world academic research. With LSPDFR 0.4.9, which is now available in the downloads section, we've teamed up with researchers at Brigham Young University and the University of British Columbia to explore the real-world research potential of LSPDFR, and the role that it could play in helping to understand how people react and behave in a law enforcement environment...

  11. With the latest updates to both OpenIV and now ZModeler, it is finally possible to create a range of vehicle modifications for Grand Theft Auto V. Here at LCPDFR.com, We've been busy working on ways to support this exciting development, and have started work on a number of initiatives and resources to help both developers and people who just want to introduce a fleet of cool new cars to their games. The new Grand Theft Auto V Development Resources page includes some basic information to get anyone up to speed with the latest developments in vehicle modifications for GTA V. We've also included links to a number of topics, and a live feed of the latest vehicle modifications available. This page is actually a temporary placeholder, and only a preview of a much more in-depth hub which is being developed.
  12. LSPDFR Trailer #2 Released

The second and final trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to LCPDFR has just been released, showcasing a number of features which have made it into the first public release of LSPDFR, including traffic stops, arrests, pursuits and of course, drinking coffee! Although feedback to the debut trailer for LSPDFR was, for the most part, quite overwhelmingly positive, we did understand the disappointment shown by some at the perceived lack of features. Of course, our main priority then was to break our silence on LSPDFR and treat everyone to a very early preview. Now, with many tireless days and nights of development under our belts, we present a more in-depth taste of things to come. Stay tuned for more updates on LSPDFR as development comes to an end and the first public release fast approaches.

Following on from the massive debut of LSPDFR on GTA V a mere two weeks ago, we're proud to announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.2 - featuring not only numerous enhancements and fixes, but also some highly requested features. Indeed, while originally versioned as 0.1.1, the number of changes introduced in 0.2 seemed too significant to be represented by only a minor increment. LSPDFR 0.2 goes some way in adressing much of the feedback after the first public release and is our first response, pun most definitely intended, to thousands of the comments we've received since then through the forums, YouTube and social media. From the electroshocking glory of stun guns, to a blast from the past with the LCPDFR style search areas and pursuit blipping, LSPDFR 0.2 packs a serious punch and is a major improvement from our first offering. Over the next couple of days, we'll take a look at some of the features that the second version of LSPDFR brings to the table. For now, though, be sure to click below where you can read more about the pursuit search areas and check out a sneak peek screenshot of a traffic stop, 0.2 style.

Additionally, Wednesday also sees the release of the latest version of Realism Dispatch Enhanced - a massive modification that brings loads of new vehicles and characters, as well as a custom wanted system that includes a six star wanted level. We're all sorry for the problems we encountered with the planned release of LSPDFR 0.2 last night. Unfortunately, there was a game breaking performance issue which was found only a few hours before we intended to release and this has required some time to investigate. The good news is that we've done our best to mitigate this problem, related to the way in which Rockstar has started to introduce anti-modding protections. Indeed, the problem has been identified and an alternative solution is now in place. This new version of LSPDFR 0.2 is now currently undergoing testing, and we hope to be in a position to release 0.2 as soon as possible - please check back through the day for further updates.

As a follow up to our previous update, we're still hard at work preparing LSPDFR 0.2 for release. At this time, it would appear that all issues caused by the latest update to GTA V have been resolved. Unfortunately we're still experiencing issues with LSPDFR 0.2 which appear to be unrelated to the recent update and more of a problem with the modification itself. These are in the form of script crashes that some, but not all, have encountered during pursuit testing and this is something we've been looking in to. Unfortunately this seems to be quite a tricky problem to find as different users are experiencing different results. It isn't all bad news, though, as we've also managed to take advantage of this delay to squeeze in some extra development time, allowing for a couple of new features to be added, including the ability to use the police radio to check subject and vehicle records - something we know will be very popular.

This is the second part of our LSPDFR 0.2 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.2, check out the first installment in this series here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/51800-lspdfr-02-announcement-first-preview By far the most hotly requested feature for the next version of LSPDFR was the resurrection of the police computer. A vital tool for those of you that like to add some detail to your patrols - I'm happy to confirm that the police computer will make its return, with a vengeance, in 0.2. The new Police Computer is capable of searching both license plates and subject names, and will actually perform a real search on every vehicle or person currently in the game. If a match is found, it will then be returned to you via a notification after a slight delay. In essence, this is a very real implementation of the system, and we hope that it will be more immersive than our offering in LCPDFR, which felt fake at times. As with the first installment in this series, be sure to click below where you can read more about the new Police Computer, and the data it uses, as well as check out how it looks.

The past year has been an interesting one to say the least here at LSPDFR. Of course, we kicked things off with quite the event when LSPDFR 0.3 was released as part of our first ever livestream - something which, despite the many teething problems, quickly rose to prominence on Twitch and was apparently quite popular with everyone. I think it will remain the most horrible experience that any of us have ever bared witness to, but nonetheless, we're looking forward to doing it again soon! Aside from our work on LSPDFR, we've also been looking at ways to build upon the success that our community has experienced over the past year, and we're excited to announce the introduction of three new members to our team in an entirely new community-facing role...

This is the fifth part of our LSPDFR 0.3 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.3, check out the previous installments here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/forum/880-news-updates/ While we've already added an amazing amount of cool new features to 0.3, an update to LSPDFR, or even LCPDFR, wouldn't truly be an update without some further refinement of the pursuit system. It is, in many ways, one of the largest and most important parts of the modification and with 0.3, we've been taking the time to make a number of small but noticeable improvements. From more cautious cops to more daring suspects, we think you'll really enjoy pursuits in 0.3.

After a short break from the non-stop development of the first couple of versions of LSPDFR, we're really excited to officially announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.3. As you might have come to expect, LSPDFR 0.3 takes strongly after its predecessors, introducing a big bunch of groundbreaking new features and gameplay. With 0.3, we've taken the time to rebuild some of the core mechanics of the modification, particularly as it comes to arresting suspects. With a brand new interactive system, you can now easily and seamlessly place stopped suspects in handcuffs. We'll be sharing more about the features and changes in LSPDFR 0.3 over the next week or so, as we take a more in-depth look at what 0.3 brings to the table, including the full Downtown Police Station interior, amazingly improved interaction with suspects, and much more! A full list of these fixes will be published with the release, although among the things we sorted out are many of the frustrations people had with arresting, as well as traffic stop suspects reversing into players and the problems with detecting vehicles for traffic stops. Also included in LSPDFR 0.2 is the reintroduction of the police radio, as well as all the elctroshocking glory of stun guns. For more information, and a screenshot, read on.

We've released a small update to LSPD First Response 0.2, including a number of fixes to reported issues. Ever since the release of LSPDFR 0.2, we've been working to identify the most serious problems and glitches, and hope to have fixed all of these with this new update, LSPDFR 0.2a. Among the fixes and changes included in this update are the debut of non-lethal stun guns, easier arresting and better first person view compatibility. Also included are a couple of new LSPDFR API functions for developers, including the ability to play audio over the new police radio that we introduced in 0.2, and better access to pedestrian persona data.
