  • FUUUUUUU. I guess that the main reason as to why there won't be any combined PPM-LCPDFR 'super mod' is that the two mods use entirely different programming languages and scripthooks. Initially, wh

Really what I'd like to see is when you pass a normal cop car when you happen to be in a chase, they join in automatically as if it were a backup unit. That would make my videos a lot more fun, trust me.

I have tried out Police Pursuit Mod and it cannot match LCPDFR in terms of depth and work, it does offer new unique features such as; missions, the ability to play Independence FM songs in a police vehicle, a point system for abiding/breaking laws, putting down spike strips and being able to fix your vehicle. LCPDFR however is constantly changing and coming up with exciting new features in the near future.I am pretty sure I will be sticking with LCPDFR.

I know this thread is old, so I don't know if I will get a reply. BUT, I couldn't help but notice Sam post "just looking at C++ Scares me". Why is this exactly? C++ is one of the most powerful, fast, fully compiled, easy to use, object oriented, portable, standardized, and popular languages in the planet. I think using C++ would be a good thing. But I would like to hear it from Sam himself as to what he thinks of C++ and why. I would really like to hear your story.

LCPDFR uses C++, along with Managed .NET code.

Sam doesn't like C++, just a personal preference. It's really an age long argument.

I'm personally fine with C++, but it has it's purpose. For me, that's advanced coding (like Windows hooking or memory editing). I like to have everything else managed and to not worry about buffer overflows or memory leaks.

You got that right. When you do very very advanced software engineering with C++, you need to walk on eggshells  . I've had programs blow up in my face and crash my PC. But that's only if you're really getting down to the nitty gritty. For modding, I like the complexity of the code you can write, yet still being easy to use. Most people love C# because it's suspiciously similar to JAVA. I'm assuming that's Sam's favorite part.

Ir's ok C++ scares me too, mostly because I have never even attempted to understand it. I am happy to just know VB .NET and PHP/HTML. :D

FREAKING AWESOME MOD GUYS!!!

I only recently got back into playing GTA IV and stumbled across some vids on Youtube of LCPDFR, despite being quite frustratingly glitchy at times it is definitely one of the best mods for IV I've seen (and I tend to download multiple mods for nearly all my games), will be great to see what new features you have planned for future releases.

Keep up the absolutely amazing work dudes!!!

Having used both PPM and LCPDFR, I can only say that LCPDFR has provided me a far more better experience playing a cop in GTA IV. It has this more in depth feel when you play it. Even though PPM has certain callouts that are different, It's nothing like LCPDFR's callouts. Playing LCPDFR only makes things better that any other police mod I played. This is the best mod I've ever seen and played. The experience LCPDFR gives me cannot be described..... As it's too good to even describe it....

Sam, This Mod is awesome and It rocks!!!:yes::biggrin:

They already do that lol... I go by one with lights and sirens blazing they enter, sometimes they enter and me nor the suspect is even close to them! XD
