I know you haven't announced it yet, so if you weren't ready to release details I apologize for snooping, but going by the removal of the BCSO K9 image from the thread, are K9 units and their associated wanted system mechanics in the works for future RDE iterations? Or am I reading too much into it?

I can tell you that no K9 mechanics will be included in 3.1.

I figured that much, since it would a major update and change to gameplay mechanics. I was thinking it might show up in 4.0, but obviously when you're ready to talk about the future, I'll know more. And it had already sounded like you have big plans for 4.0. Always something new and cool from you guys.

You know it's probably asking for much, but would it be possible to get some sort of hotfix or patch to make the mod more stable on the current version of GTA?

With the pending release of 3.1 coming in the future, I don't believe that any further patches are going to be done to the existing 3.0 version. @NefariousBonne or someone on the RDE Team can probably give a final answer on that, though.

yeah, wish K-9 wouldnt be spread over the side like that, will make my own one once the mod comes out anyway.

@DukSezQuak who is actually making the texture's for RDE?

Mostly me and Yard1, there are also some contributions by other team members.

BCSO K9 Unit decals were made [by me] in the same style and scales as on its real-life counterpart.

Howdy,
I suppose this will be a kind of a dev diary for 3.1. As NefariousBonne has said some time ago, 3.1 will mainly be a content update, introducing new car and ped models, as well as improving existing ones. Thanks to YMT edits, peds will not only be much more varied and detailed, but also better optimized and "neat" from technical perspective. Many ped models have gotten new components, such as improved bulletproof vests, belts, and so on. Many vehicles have received improved interiors and lighting, and some other tweaks.

But you all know that already. I would like to tell you about one new script feature we have been working on for some time now.

We call it the IncidentManager. This is a new system that allows cops to call backup during shootouts with NPCs. The backup units that spawn are the same that would spawn if a player was wanted, and zone-dependent as well. Furthermore, the response type and amount will be based on the severity of the incident. Not only that, but a rudimentary chase system has been implemented, which will allow cops to dynamically chase fleeing NPCs. IncidentManager allows for very dynamic and lively shootouts, and is for all intents and purposes a Wanted Level system for NPCs. It can be turned on and off in the ini.

A small new feature is that SSR (as a whole) can be turned on and off in game by pressing a specified (configurable) key combination. With SSR disabled, you can play LSPDFR and most story missions without any compatibility problems (note: this does not fix missions that crash).

Furthermore, some advanced optimizations have been performed on the script. We hope that this will alleviate some of the performance complaints we have gotten for 3.0.

3.1 has been delayed a lot, but we want to present you with finished, polished product. We continue to add new features and content daily, while testing for bugs and performance. We hope that we will be able to present RDE 3.1 to you soon.

hey man. I love the look of these peds, but I don't want to replace my current car setup; Is there any way I can install just the peds?

yes, you can normally delete the cars in the dlc.rpf files, (keep the addons in) and just keep the peds where they are.

Hey for the 1992 RDE mod, do you think it would be possible to have a news helicopter follow the player (this is something that would happen to the player when he is wanted in San Andreas). Also, is it possible to convert the steed ambulance mod from GTA IV to V, it would like exactly identical to the ambulance from GTA San Andreas.

Hey,
will the Incident Manager also apply to NPC units spawned by lspdfr?

Just like the script from 3.0, I think this isn't supposed to be used with LSPDFR anyway. LSPDFR has its own manager.

I will look into the news helicopter idea, I would love to include some GTA SA inspired stuff
I already have an ambulance model for RDE Retro, but I might redo the Steed Ambulance as a non-RDE GTA V project later.

Like those cool Sheriff Ranger, for example? The best police vehicle in all 3d series, in my opinion. Shame only a 3-door version was available.
