LSPDFR 0.3 - Backup Customization

I'm not the type to repost something but

"Something I would love to see would be able to call backup to head to a specific/marked location. I'm gonna use the example of responding to a callout:

When you call for backup when on your way to a callout.. Well you really can't. From what I experienced, backup heads to the exact location that you called it from. Being able to call code 3 backup to a specific location would definitely help callouts and realism.

Sometimes when you respond to something like a bank robbery from a decent distance away, and you finally arrive.. to find no other units in the area around, you then have to try and secure/defend what you can until you're able to call someone in and wait for them to arrive. But really as youre arriving the other cruisers should be there arriving whatnot. (I know there are some plugins that actually call in backup automatically, but most don't)

Also, being able to call a backup unit (code 2 or whatnot) that arrives on the scene and stays for more than 10 seconds. Too often I find myself having just killed/arrested a suspect with a ton of units around, then they just all hop in their cruisers and leave before the guy has even knelt down. "

This would help tremendously, when playing as things like SWAT or responding to a callout some distance away, where there should usually already be units on scene as you're arriving.

Either way, I didn't think it was possible to be more excited for this version than 0.2 with all the things that were added! Thanks for the hard work!

Jeez man, it's just a friendly question the poor lad asked.

  • They take into account other units already on scene better and don't smash into them as much.  Note the relatively neatly arranged NOOSE insurgents. Yes, you will be able to specify a ped model to use

Can you elaborate more on this, Sam ? Do you mean that they will be more tactical at their responses to your callouts ?

Well, that's the way how it worked in LCPDFR. When I found out about it, I never approached a call alone. I had always called for backup before I made myself on my way. That way, I could act as backup for units that were already there, or we all arrived at the same time engaging anything that's hostile. Then when someone fled, he got chased down by everyone.
I'd also love to see that in LSPDFR. One day... I'm sure we'll see it.

I was literally thinking the same thing last night! If we could send backup to a map waypoint or something.

The backup menu could have Code 2, Code 3, Pursuit, and Crime Scene (Waypoint).

When a pursuit ends in a shootout and you killed all suspects, LSPDFR musts to auto-request paramedics, did u find a radio's sound for this?

Sam, i think u must to make usefull the new unlocked police station, so take suspects to cells and more like this... Take equipment from the armory... U know xd

This sounds so amazing! Great work!! Is it possible that we can add callouts or things to do for the corrections officers? Therefore giving them a purpose and things to do so that people that like to play as corrections officers can have fun as well. Thank you!

Cant wait but is they going to be away to remove that awful boost the API always get. you can never take 1st pursuits without API smashing into back of your car.

It's very easy to avoid this, just pull slightly to the side and let them pass. It's not the largest issue :P

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

True that, but if you want to be the first unit or in the middle of the line of cops, you're fucked. :P

will the medics clean up the bodies?

Doubtful, but there is always FinKone's PoliceRadio which works quite well. It would be nice to have a coroner added into LSPDFR eventually though, I'd find it much cleaner having stuff like that all contained within LSPDFR's menus, instead of having different mods with different menus and keys. Maybe eventually the LSPDFR API will allow modders to implement new items in it's menus.

Certainly quite true, but eventually it'd be nice not to have to drive in a different lane from the suspect in order to safely stay at the front of the pursuit :P

Got that interceptor replaced with the First-Gen Stanier :D

I just have Lazers and Hydras in my game now :)

That gives me an idea... perhaps a suggestion for a future update:

In addition to livery customization, I wonder if the XML could be extended to control vehicle extras...

For example, the Buffalo S w/ Edge lightbar that (like many cars) has the lightbar as an extra. It would be cool to set, for example, patrol backup to have the lightbar, while SWAT can show up in a slicktop.

This is one advantage of XML over INIs: it's pretty easy to add attributes, because you don't then have to add that attribute to every single entry in the entire file.
