Hyfrith got a reaction from ys42 in Suspects don't shoot their gunsI'd certainly be keen for more information on this from someone in the know. The fleeing suspects in vehicles used to sometimes shoot back at you, and that was an engaging mechanic to play. But I think since the last major update they don't shoot anymore, they just point their guns.
Did the devs disable this to stop the AI sniping people? They did have insane accuracy but this could be tempered with Accuracy scripts. And now that LSPDFR has the Tracking pursuit functionality I think there's a large gameplay element missing now. I'd love the option to re-enable pursuit shooting if it exists.

Hyfrith reacted to LMS in LSPDFR 0.4.9 - Now Available! We certainly share the concerns mentioned by you and others. However, even if most people behaved "crazy" like you said, there could still be a lot of value in it when looking at tendencies. Is someone even crazier/less crazy when facing event/situation X? It then does not really matter what their overall playstyle is, because you can see nuances depending on the situation. That would still be a very valuable insight.
This is the first iteration of the new system and we plan to add more interactions by the AI such as verbal warnings or ticketing. Those did not make it into 0.4.9 just yet. The only way for you to trigger the new system in LSPDFR itself currently is when calling in a crime. We now consider non-violent, on foot crimes for the new investigative mode. For instance, if an angry pedestrian shoves you (but not punches/fights) and you were to call that in, it would not turn into a full-blown chase where the suspects immediately starts sprinting away followed by police. Instead, they would walk off not knowing they have been reported. If you then were to call in backup, they would slowly approach and confront the suspect just like in the video. There is a chance the suspect might surrender on sight or resist.
We have many more plans for the system to "de-pursuit" the whole of LSPDFR in upcoming updates, so stay tuned 🙂

Hyfrith got a reaction from doudou110 in LSPDFR 0.4.9 - Now Available!Sounds great! Hopefully the research stuff doesn't just demonstrate how many players will gleefully gun people down because it's a video game. I'm curious how the video game aspect of it will relate to real life law enforcement, since LSPDFR is not exactly in the "simulator" category for Police work despite the depth of systems.
I'd love more detail on the new pursuit "Investigation" state. I'm not sure how this works from your explanation? Is it saying you can call a "pursuit" on a ped who isn't already actively fleeing, and then NPC cops will arrive Code 2 or 3 as usual, but won't chase or taze the ped unless they actively fight or flee, they'll just approach and arrest calmly?

Hyfrith got a reaction fromDeactivated Memberin New GTA update coming 29th AugustFeels like they've gone hard to include community favourites in this update?
Everyone's been asking for the Hunter and Rustler for years and SkylineGTR's models, one of which is used in RDE, have shown just how brilliant they could be. There's a fantastic video of popular GTA Youtubers BayAreaBuggs and Jeff Favignano using Skyline's modded WW2 planes in a dogfight that got be excited about the possibilities. Although we all know they'll probably have explosive rounds and 1-hit KO to spoil the fun of dogfights...
Also interesting to see a tactical helmet being added like those in RDE and EUP. Hell, even the glider is already a fantastic SkylineGTR addition to the game.
Personally, I barely touch online and I imagine many people here don't either. But i'm still excited for new vehicles to mess with and take photos in Singleplayer using Trainers to spawn them in.

Same problem here. I wont hog the post however, I will be interested to see what is causing this as I haven't managed to identify it.

Hyfrith reacted to GlitchGamer in FIRE TANKER WIPYea been a long semester for me.
And the tiller is good. Working with some people on coding before I release the tiller. I plan to make various fire vehicles that are lord friendly.
Yes. I hate when vehicles disappear.

Import Lt. Caine's vehicles there, because as of now, the game is overwriting all previous dlcpacks with the rde ones.

Hyfrith got a reaction from NeulandInternet in Aquamenti's WIP and showroom threadOh wow you made the Oracle!! Officially one of my favourite cars in the game haha. I'm just not one for all the silly supercars everywhere in Online especially. I tend to stick to more "realistic to own" cars.
As a UK resident I've always dreamed of someone making the Oracle into an in-game car because it's like the police BMWs that are used here. Someone just needs to make a UK police style skin that still says Los Santos for it now!
I love all the lore friendly cars you make and I implore you to keep going. And definitely explore the British police's cars more. Like the standard Ubermacht Oracle (as BMW. I like the Oracle more than the Oracle XS as it's got more curves), and Obey Tailgater (Audi). Even the Benefactor Schafter V12 looks kinda like the BMWs used by the police.
Keep it up!

Hyfrith reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadProgress update:
Lots of progress with improving maritime traffic stops!
Integration with LSPDFR+ to alter traffic stop questions and ticket offense reasons for watercraft Improved player ped behavior on boats Added more ambient boats to make up for the disappointingly low numbers of boats found ambiently in the game by default Working on making arrests work at sea - this is still a major deficiency due to how LSPDFR runs the arrest animations. I've figured out the right approach to fixing it, but a fully functional solution is still a ways off. Created a Coastal Callouts menu with lots of useful options (all functionally implemented unless otherwise noted).
Boat menu: Spawn boat on trailer Anchor your boat Anchor nearby boats Save your boat Helicopter menu: Spawn helicopter. Menu automatically lists all possible law enforcement helicopters available in the game. Checkbox allows searching through all helicopter models. Spawns at nearest appropriate heli landing location. If you come from far away it'll already be on the ground when you arrive, if you're nearby the helicopter will fly over and land as you approach. Hover mode, to force helicopter into a steady hover. Rappelling functionality: Still doing lots of testing and experimentation with ropes. Not fully integrated into the core mod yet, but will be. Seat switch: Not yet full integrated. Will let you switch to any seat and will set up a copilot to fly while you aren't in the pilot's seat. Additionally, I've put together some custom code to replicate the trailer attachment behavior seen in default trailers in game. There's no way that I know of to put a boat on a trailer with the default game mechanics. Now you'll be able to attach a boat to a trailer manually through the menu, and when you back the trailer into the water, the boat will detach automatically. You can also back a trailer into the water, drive a boat up onto it, and the boat will be attached to the trailer automatically.
So as you can see, there has been a lot of progress, but there's quite a bit more work left to do. If you have any suggestions or ideas, let me know and I'll see what I can do about implementing them. At the moment I'm primarily focused on developing the core functionality to make LSPDFR work on the water. I have a good list of callout ideas that I plan to implement after I get the core mechanics working. Callout ideas of course are still welcome, but please do check previous comments here to see if it's already been suggested.

Hyfrith reacted to PNWParksFan in [REL] Coastal Callouts Discussion ThreadJust to give people a quick update, I am actively working on development. It's going to be a very complex mod, so please understand the slow progress. I have been working on it for a couple hours every night, and longer on weekends.
Currently one callout is complete, and is quite different from anything currently available in the game. It's not directly coastal related, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
A second callout is about 60% done. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but that one will blow your mind. (@Kal74 it's a pun!)
Now that a proper police boat is available, I've started working on adding boat traffic stops. This part is working quite well actually, although there are a lot more features I plan to add to make it better. At the moment it can successfully pull over a boater, let your ped get out of the driver's seat without jumping into the ocean, and keeps your boat and the suspect's boat from drifting away from each other during the pullover.
I've also made some progress with helicopter hoist operations, as seen in the gallery. However there is a ton of work left to do to make that reliable, realistic, and to work it into the callouts and features of the mod.
At this time I do not have any kind of release date estimate. Because the ocean has never had much focus in GTA and LSPDFR in particular, there's a lot of work to make this playable, let alone fun. I will keep you all updated on how the progress goes though!

Hyfrith reacted to Cantwell in [WIP] MundaneCalloutsI like the sounds of this! Low priority calls make the high priority ones that much more fun.
Some callout suggestions:
Noise Complaint - Person shooting fireworks, or having a party (which you have to disperse) Disturbance - People loitering in area, shouting or just standing (disperse them) Drug Complaint - people smoking weed under a bridge/on street Offender Compliance Check - visit the home of a parolee/person out on bail to ensure they are complying with their conditions. Neighbor Dispute - Neighbors arguing (break it up) Mischief - Person/people causing damage to property (breaking fences, denting cars, etc) Alarms - Residential / Commercial automatic entry alarms (most likely false, but possible to find B&E) Emotionally Disturbed Person - Person acting odd (ranges from shouting nonsense to being suicidal) Backup Officer: Sovereign Citizen - Person refusing to show identification on traffic stop / other call (arrest or talk him into showing ID) Criminal Harassment - Victim has been receiving harassing phone calls/messages from a person (go talk to the suspect and deal with it accordingly). Trespassing - Person walking on private property (find out why they are there and remove them). Taxi Dispute - Cabbie and customer in argument about fare / person refusing to pay (determine who's correct and deal with it) Assist Security Agency - Security has a person in custody (help them investigate and lay a charge if necessary) Person Refusing to Leave - Manager of store wants police to help remove an unruly customer. Missing Person - Person is missing (have description of person, talk to people in area to locate) Traffic Hazard - There is debris on the road that is dangerous to motorists (remove from roadway or direct traffic until the city can remove the hazard. Protest - There is a group gathered protesting (make sure it remains peaceful and traffic continues to flow). Stolen Bicycle - A person has woken up to find his bike missing (gather info and see if you can locate it). Welfare Check - Family member concerned for well being of relative (go to address and see if they're okay). Suspicious Occurrence - Caller says there is a person in a car/on foot that has been watching a residence / circling the block for a while (locate and identify their intentions). Hope this gives you some ideas! Good luck on coding - I cant wait to see the finished product

Just a quick update, for those that missed this post in the comments thread of Keep Calm...
I have taken the time to completely re-write Keep Calm from scratch. I have been using it while testing the latest builds of ALPR+, and it seems to be working.
It will be undergoing some further testing, and if (and I mean IF!) everything goes well, and there are no bugs, it should be released in a week or so.
