The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future?

My suggestions so far after playing for a while: A marker for your patrol car on the map would be great Maybe add a prompt/option somewhere for clarity on how things work, I was a bit confused when

  • ThePersian
    ThePersian

It's running great so far, though for some reason my game lags a bit whenever I shoot now (may just be the game itself). Most of the improvements are probably already planned by the wonderful dev team

  • Suspects are too fast / too far and I constantly find myself driving cross country in a cruiser. Awesome work by the devs, though.

I keep getting this message on the console. It annoys the shit out of me....

WARNING! Plugin ''LSPD First Response'' was terminated because it caursed the game to freeze.

Do you have the latest version of ragehook? If not get it, it fixed that for me.

This didn't solve my problem, but thanks ^^

In the Ragehook F4 console, try typing 'PluginTimeoutThreshold 6000'. (Without the 's)

I would think that it allows a plugin to go up to 6000 milliseconds (6 sec) without responding before deciding to kill the script for being unresponsive.

Yep. Should fix the console spam.

I bought my third copy of the game when the countdown appeared on the site because i loved LCPDFR so much and i can see great things in the future for LSPDFR

I'm not going to touch on a wish list or what i think you should include in the future release because it's been covered by lots of great suggestions.

After playing for a few days i've got a small pro/con list that i'll try and keep different from everything in the other six pages

Pro:

Very stable, never crashed

Slick selection screen for peds and vehicles

Backup is quick and easy, multiple selections  for units and response is a nice touch

Being able to spawn a new cruiser/hydra/pol mav from the ragehook screen is convenient but i have to use ~ first to bring up the cheat screen because the letter P keeps popping up a menu in game and stops my text

I like the blue area that gives you an idea where the callout is located

Con:

Traffic stops are kind of clunky, i can't seem to cancel the wrong car, or selecting the right car in a group is difficult. Could we possibly aim at the right car with the cursor?

Pursuits are balls to the wall until they die or crash. I've never had anyone actually give up. I'd like to be able to spam the traffic stop key and have them eventually pull over since not every pursuit needs to end in a fiery death in classic GTA style.

When peds bail, they either comply right away or take off and never respond to commands

When traffic stops end, suspect vehicles back up into my cruiser and take off

When a callout appears, there isn't a way to decline, we just have to let it expire. Would also like an automatic waypoint to the area as well on the GPS.

Sometimes the suspects spawn far enough away that i can hardly get turned around and enroute before they escape. I've started to call for heli backup right away to keep a unit in the pursuit until i get there.

Pursuit with cars spawning more than one ped often make the second ped spawn outside the vehicle, and you often have to choose one or the other since the one you don't deal with will escape. Doesn't seem to happen with vans and trucks

All in all, it's a great start. Thanks for opening up the mod for all of us to test it and provide feedback. Thanks for all your hard work on this.

In hotfix 0.1e, I think Sam fixed the one ped spawning out of the car because ever since the update, I have never had that happen to me again.

"I love you all, and that's why we don't get caught doing naughty things!" - GTA V Heist Dude.

I'm extremely tardy to the party in this response, but @Sam was very kind to quote me a few pages back and go into detail why/why not some of my suggestions could be or couldn't be included and that is just fantastic. I really appreciate you going into depth, and why you made the decisions you made.

You cited not wanting a gigantic wall of text clouding up the screen in order to include the interactions that there are just no animations included for. This is very understandable and I think there's definitely two camps included on how they would respond to this. You have the people who just can't be bothered and they don't want this in their game. They want the hot pursuits and the shootouts, the non-stop 80's cop action flick.

Then you have weirdos like me. When I patrol, I want maximum realism, even though it is just a video game. I'm recording for an audience on YouTube comprised of like minded people who want me to investigate the driver and make sure he doesn't have a warrant out for his arrest. People who, when a wall of text appears on my screen, they know I'll read it aloud and react accordingly, without caring that my police character in game didn't actually go through the animation of frisking the individual...they only cared that I had the foresight to frisk him and discover that knife and baggy of drugs before I detained him and placed him in my cruiser.

Yes it would be fantastic if there were animations for every interaction just like there was in LCPDFR, but if you don't include that simulation, or the text or the immersion, I might as well be playing Enforcer: Police Crime Action. LCPDFR was a fantastic almost down to the bolts police simulation, the only one available on the market. It trumps professionally done police simulations (The whole 5 available to play on the market) just by pure immersion and attention to detail.

It's really difficult making the proper decision on how to appease both camps. If I'm honest, there is no way to appease everyone. Some, like me, want the wall of text because the options of how we deal with our suspects is what engrosses us, what brings us our immersion. For others, shooting first then asking questions is how they play. Some could argue as say include an option to shut off the wall of text, but I understand that that would be very difficult to code.

Whatever the case I saw a few posts really lashing into Sam and the other developers of LSPDFR and that is truly shameful. If you guys can do so much better, go make your own. All I know is I appreciate what has been done, and I know over time as they learn more about GTA V's file structure and how to program and use assets to suit their tastes, we're gonna have a very cool mod on our hands. I have faith that it will only get better over time. Let's take a step back and look at what we have: Like Sam said, it's only 1.5 months after the PC release and we already have a functioning, and stable police mod. Imagine what the next 1.5 months will look like in terms of new features and improvements.

We just have to be patient.

I honestly think shadow read my mind and said it to me other than all that I would like to have special calls or like a detective call of a murder and have to pickup evidence also add you have to have there License on pull overs.

My Thoughts right now: The Suspects go 250MPH LOL way to fast! finnaly have to call in noose

and backup is a little to far away

also the officers dont drive away instead they run

Rating for the first release: 1000/5 excalent

Firstly, thanks to the community team, staff, and G17 for their hard work and dedication for creating this modification, especially so quickly.

Some things I'd like to see in lspdfr:

        **MUST READ**

  • K-9 units dis-patchable
  • More In-depth traffic stops
  • Home calls (domestic violence)
  • Pursuits more fluent (like traffic is a determining factor how long the pursuit may last)
  • Ability to search the car (front, back, trunk)
  • Kidnapping call (Dispatch gives info of the vehicle, vehicle is in your area obviously. If you find the vehicle either pursuit or they leave car and run. If you don't find the vehicle in allotted time call is off.)
  • Ability to setup road block checkpoints (Search each car)
  • Domestic Wild Animal Calls (Bear, Mountain Lion etc. Spotted in a certain area. You must find and kill it.)
  • Officer Promotion (Just an idea --- possibly could only get certain calls depending on police rank, also must have a partner depending on rank. separate campaign type mode)
  • Officer Achievements (Just an idea)
  • Homicide Detective WITH Homicide Investigations (Ability to speak to witnesses at crime scene, look for clues, etc)
  • Citizens Show Emotion (Citizens will either scold or praise you for duty - ex. While you're on foot)
  • Robbery/Hostage Situation

This is all I could think of for the moment. If you liked my ideas give this post a like. I'll be sure to also edit this giving further ideas.

To add to this:

* sport cars that end up side by side rev engines and prepare for a random street race. (random)

* Witness protection/ transport to court / safe house (possibility of attack)

* Prisoner Transport (Possibility of attack)

* Weapon smuggling / illegal weapon sales

Also would like to see more task force takedowns maybe? like a raid on a building or when going after a wanted criminal.  This will include multiple levels of law enforcement with local cops closing roads and noose / fib move in for the attack and chopper support.

If I was able to help you in anyway please click the like button!

If the A.I. officers get a taser option, I'd like to have it able to be turned off.  I'd much rather have the A.I. making use of their nightsticks as opposed to tasers, especially if an older aesthetic can be recreated with vintage vehicle mods and equipment later on.
